It is not just Brohm it is every coach that can’t recruit classes consistently in the top 20.

Now I think Louisville can recruit consistently in the Top 5 in ACC. They start consistently doing that they will become a 7-5 or 8-4. Bottom line your ceiling is higher.

The transfer portal has had as much influence on college football performance as anything. Just look at the 25 kids who left VT in just one season, and how their QB and WR arriving At Tennessee turned the Vols into a national contender. Syracuse may not win the ACC, but obtaining Schrader at QB has resulted in one of the greatest impacts of any schools this year. Regrettably, UK’s ability to attract Levis can explain a lot of their success.

Never said that Satterfield had to be terminated “no matter what” nor have I made excuses for Brohm. I did say, and I stick by it, that Brohm is the better coach and, would be more successful (higher ceiling and floor) and bring more stability at UofL than Satterfield. Yesterday’s results did nothing to change that.

Satterfield has demonstrated a sense of resilience that has permeated this roster. I try to listen to what the players say, and tune out those posters who take positions early in the season, that cannot be defended when reality plays out.

Most every UL fan, myself included, were disappointed by the performances at Syracuse. However, going down to Orlando and beating UCF showed a glimpse of the character this roster has. The loss at BC was indeed troubling, and even now I am not sure there is adequate explanation for the performance. Despite those events, this 4 game winning streak should demonstrate one thing …… Satterfield is starting to fulfill some of the expectations that prompted his hiring in the first place.

Jeff Brohm is a local treasure, as is Oscar, Brian and Greg. Their careers at Trinity and UL are worthy of our respect and I would like to support their efforts at Purdue, except they are recruiting Jefferson Co and their success is a challenge for UL recruiting.

Most can see the obvious …… in order for Jeff to have ever returned to UL; it means that first Satterfield would need to be unsuccessful, which means UL football loses. Secondly, Jeff would have to be successful at Purdue, and while that has not been demonstrated at this point, it stands to reason that if he was successful there, Boilermakers would reward his compensation to keep him in West Lafayette.

As for me, I remain behind Satterfield as our HC, and while there is no assurance one way or another on these next 3 games, I honestly believe we have a shot to win one at a time. Clemson is still talented, but vulnerable even in Death Valley.

I agree. The only way this fanbase has ever really supported football is if Louisville starts off really good and it is a big name opponent. Once a loss or two happen people jump off. God forbid they lose early. That has happened with every coach including the ones that were liked. Brohm isn’t changing that reality. You may get a bump in year 1 but as soon as he goes 7-5 attendance will be right back at 30-35k.

They need to do something with tailgating/parking to many people ***** about it for it needs to be addressed.

The elephant in the room is the fanbase doesn’t like being in ACC. They think 90 percent of the teams suck. There is zero excitement playing Wake, Pitt, Virginia, Georgia Tech or Duke. Our fanbase had more respect for Cincy, WVU and UCF than they did for most of the ACC teams. Think about it this way Wake was a top 10 team poor attendance now change the name to Cincy or WVU or UCF with same ranking……bigger crowd. Until our fanbase embraces being in the ACC nothing will change.

They have to start consistently winning but fans in the stands does help with that process.

Faith and hope spring eternal for Card fans who still believe CHS's vision that we are on a 'Collision Course for the NC...the only variable is time.' You have to have the dream, state the dream, and work toward it before the dream can become true.

Right now, I feel like our FB program is on a better trajectory than our BB program. Of course, this could change over the last three games. This team could have folded their tents after the B/C loss. Look what has happened since then. Speaks well of the players and the coaches.

But my biggest reason is someone that works daily with Steve Clarkson and a lot of our talented 23 class say the recruits overall aren't very impressed with Brohm. They like Satt. I know NIL is the main attraction for these kids, but I don't want them playing for a coach they aren't inspired by.

Finally, why make a change for a coach that has nearly identical results? I don't get how Brohm could possibly be in that second tier. Plus he's really been stinking it up lately.

And to those folks that are negative about the ACC, I say I remember the time when the vast, vast majority of you would have given your left testicle (or ovary) for the opportunity to actually BE in a major Power 5 conference. When did that change? JB is, indeed, a UofL alum but he has chosen to stay where he is presently when he had the opportunity to "come home". And simply because JB is a local guy and a UofL alum is NOT enough to warrant any loyalty from our fanbase. Until JB shows us the respect (and loyalty) we deserve then I'll take guys like CSS each and every time.

Just looking at this year’s numbers - UofL runs it 8 times more a game. Not really a dramatic difference and given that Malik is responsible for 30% of that total - it would (will) be interesting to see where those numbers might be in the future.

Regarding defenses - UofL during Satterfield’s tenure has given up an average of 26.97 points a game. Purdue during the same time has allowed 27.07 a game.

As for the comment about the class - no offense but that seems like nonsense. They’re coming to UofL because of the NIL money, the adidas connections and the chance to essentially be this year’s version of the TA&MU freshman class - a group that can all start or get major clock from the jump. Satterfield seems like a really nice guy but his record is uninspiring.

I - and the vast majority of the CFB world - think that Brohm is better than Satterfield. But even if he is equal or only marginally better than Satterfield - were he to come here - it would be for the long haul and would provide the stability that the program has lacked since Howard.

Satterfield was looking for the escape hatch after year one. Only his mediocrity has kept him here IMO.

i call ********. i don't go to the games becasue sitting in uncomfortable seats, listening to overloud pa system, never seeing the actual ball during a game and having to deal with lines, overpriced food and drinks, and everything else i'll never go to a game again (only one i've been to was the Lamar celebration last year, in 40 degree weather in a half empty stadium, but i was there) no matter how good we are but i bleed with every loss, cheer for every win, and i wear more u of l gear than probably most of you. in fact i had my cardinal hoodie and hat on today while visiting the art institute of chicago and one of the workers came up to me and went lousville cardinals! so i'm fake huh? no fffing way am i fake and real fans don't have to attend any games. i choose to watch them in the comfort of my home and save $200 which i spend on louisville hats shirts and hoodies.

Brohm has been mediocre as well there is no denying that. He has won 9 games once in 6 years. Everything you complain about with Satterfield Brohm has done as well. The only difference is you, not the vast majority, like Brohm despite what the data tells you. That is fine but just say that instead of telling us the vast majority of football people believe what you believe.

I think discounting the incoming class is a ridiculous position. NIL is a factor but to say Satterfield and his staff aren’t is lazy or convenient.

What you are basically suggesting Louisville to do is spend an extra 2-3M annually plus another 5-8 million in buyouts for someone that will give you the same results. He may do better at Louisville than Purdue but the data sure doesn’t suggest that will happen.

Please show me where OR when I "suggested" that JB doesn't deserve respect because he failed to dump Purdue? I have nothing but respect for JB and the entire Brohm family but they (Jeff) have made their choice and I choose to be loyal to UofL. Jeff chose to remain at Purdue which is his perfect right, but I do not support Purdue because my loyalty lies with UofL. That is where I went to school and have supported for more than 50 years. And they have supported me as well. Just my own personal opinion.
