Looking for some advice on how to best proceed forward.

I'm currently donating a little bit each month.... enough to accumulate a few points. This year is my first year donating.

Me and friend are pretty sure we're going to try and get football season tickets next year and we're curious about the best way to help make that happen.

What is the best way to increase my Bulldawg Club standing? Obviously I need to open up the checkbook... but do I need to do it before the year turns over? Should I wait until next spring to increase? Right now I'm giving a little bit on every 15th of the month... I'm in a position to where I could comfortably double or triple that donation and still not really feel it in my checkbook. Is there a better time to increase donations?

Also, how many tickets can each person get? If me and him wants seats beside each other, how do we make that happen?

if you're going for a one-shot increase, the cheapest way is to purchase women's basketball season tickets. It may be too late for that this year, but dollar for dollar, they give you the most short-term points. IIRC, at about year 4 the lifetime giving value of those funds catches up, and you'd have been better off just making a straight donation to the BC.
As for just plain donations, if you're already a member and will give the same amount in total, there's no reason to give more this year. Save it to increase your giving level next year, and do it prior to the priority deadline for football tickets (Scott's e-mails will tell you when that is). It'll probably be in the first few months.

The number of tickets you can purchase depends on your giving level, and if you and a friend want to sit together, the likelihood of doing so depends on how many tickets, what section you want, and a host of random factors. The short answer is, the poorer the seating you want and the more you give, the more likely they can make it happen.

Basically, go here (http://www.mstateathletics.com/fls/16800/pdf/ad_annualgivingbro_082911.pdf?&DB_OEM_ID=16800)

Scroll down to the page with the stadium map on it. Identify where you want to be sitting and prepare to make that level of a donation next spring. Beware though, many of the "better" sections are sold out. Actually I'd probably make a call to see what the best seats available are and, presuming those seats are within your budget, start with that kind of donation. With football, once you're in a section, you are in until you give the tickets up as long as you maintain the required donation level.

Also read pp. 3-4 in the brochure to see how points are accumulated, then log in to your dogtag account and see how many points you currently have. That becomes more important when ordering the all important Buryball tickets. Seats there are assigned in rank order according to BC points.

If I am wrong, someone correct me.

But beware- a few years ago I donated more money to a better section after being told that seats were avialble last season. So I up'ed my donation. Then in July I got a call saying that the section that i donated was sold out. I had to keep my seats in the lower section but I did not get my money back. They do not return money.

We have been told the club level had a long waiting list. Last season a guy I know, who never had season tickets, wanted some club level for clients. He called the BC and was told how much he needed to donated to move ahead of others. he did and got six club tickets. it is all about money.

Step 1) Find someone that has a company gift matching policy with their company.
Step 2) Group together 10 relatives/friends so that everyone is contributing to the account of the person with the gift matching ability. You can only get 10 max priority seats in football, so there's not much point in getting more people than that unless someone doesn't mind sitting in a non-priority section.
Step 3) If any of the 10 people in your group already had an account, get them to transfer their points to the new group leader.

By doing this, we were able to get 50-yard line seats within 3 years. The trick to this is first finding someone you trust to manage everyone's money for the group. Then, it is finding 9 people who are ok with never being able to accumulate their own BC points. However, like I said, you can skyrocket up with list and get great seats if you do it right.

don't be fooled into thinking (when looking at the seating chart) that just because you give the minimum for that section, that you will be placed in that section. I give way over my min and still am not where I "could" be.
Having said that, I've heard rumors that there will be reseating once expansion is better in place. For now, you can continue to keep you seats as long as you renew regardless of your points.

For example, if the group leader is giving $10,000 to be split 10 ways, assuming he's in the 25% tax bracket (30% including state taxes), then each person should only have to pay him $700 (their $1,000 share reduced by his 30% tax benefit). My brothers, sister and me ran into this a few years ago when Mom wanted us to make a donation to a charity in her name for her birthday. I made the donation and reduced their share by my tax savings.

Last year you got 2 points "i think" for every Gator Bowl ticket you purchased. I bought 12 tickets for myself and friends and it really bumped my point total up>

or is that lower, (closer to #1) than 2100. I was around 2128 or so a couple of years ago and it got me 2 tickets on the 15 yard line row 22. Thats when I started looking around and wondering (and still wonder) how 2100 spots above me accounted for all of the private suites, club level, chairbacks and seats between the 40's. Then I realized its about how many tickets you're allowed to buy at certain levels, the way you can pay a minimum and keep the seats you've had forever and that some of those folks are not 'officially' in the Bulldog Club but donate items such as vehicles to the coaches every year. I since had to cut back my donation and skip season tickets for a year and fell to 2900. But,I'm back to buying 2 season tickets and donating enough to more than cover 2 chairback seats in hopes that the expansion and re-seating will move me up. If it doesn't, hello $100/year, I'll spend the reston a bigger flatscreen and a recliner.

I've been donating the required amount for the 200 level chairbacks for some time and still not in it. I have tickets in section Q that I'm keeping until I get the green light for the 100 or 200 sections. I like the folks that I'm around and don't get the tap on the shoulder of some lazy *** that want's me to sit down that I know I will get as soon as I move to C, D, or F. The tickets I have are the first ones I got while dropping just enough for the donation on the seats. I'm now dropping about 700 a seat donation for them. I'm prob the highest donor in Q per seat.

Sounds like you're in the same situation as me. Even as far as price per seat. Even though I couldn't afford tickets last year and broke my streak, I was high enough that I got the call this summer for tickets. If I recall correctly, I could have gotten seats between the 35 and 40 but I would have been on row 10 or lower. I told them that I preferred higher even if it meant heading towards the end zone.
