over zealous human beings wearing a badge; I have no trust in the law enforcement officials. Just because someone is "picked up" or arrested doesn't make them guilty of anything. Sad thing is most of the general public believe the ones with the badge. There are indeed always two sides to each and every story.

I just hope the assailant(s) was(were) arrested too. With that said though, I agree with your sentiment as well. I am, by no means, not one to make it seem as if every single cop is dirty, but I've seen too many instances where they felt because they have a badge that they can abuse their power. I hope that this wasn't one such occasion, but regardless I hope everything works out.

Could have easily been taking several pics with some dudes girlfriends. Whether that warrants bottles being thrown, well, you mix alcohol with pissed off boyfriends, nothing good happens!

Vaught Hemmingway Stadium.. State fan is running his mouth and gets jumped and beaten. He never threw a punch and still got arrested. In something like that they just arrest everybody involved.

I can show you an over-zealous jackass who hates authority and pushes the limits. I will almost always give the badge a little leeway being that they put their lives on the line each and every time they put that badge on. It's just like the wild west out there with goons who don't care about the law, authority, consequences, etc. There's crazy people out there and those with badges risk their lives for us.
I hate people making stereotypical comments about crooked cops. Now politicians, they're fair game...

but I'll only believe one side of the story, and it's sad when the public trusts their policemen."

Thanks for sharing your enlightenedpoint of view.</p>

But I will share this:http://www.injusticeeverywhere.com/?page_id=5064

Anyone who believes that the police are honest and trying to help has not been paying attention. I don't give any more weight, and sometimes less, to a Police Officer's statement that I do anyone else. And before the "bad apple" argument comes out know this, any police officer who knows a dirty cop and does nothing about it is just as bad as the dirty cop. And they all know who the dirty cops are.

but you picked the wrong guy. I've always been consistent in this. Innocent until proven guilty, police aren't always right, wait for the whole story. Also, I'm not saying Chad didn't do anything, I don't know. The only thing I will cop to is laughing when the bad press forces Ole Miss to suspend players. Sorry, but that's just my view on the competition and the team having to play without the full compliment, it's not me judging those individual players.

There are some who dont take ****, and some who sleepwalk, just as in about every job. Some are ******** and some are caring, kind hearted people.

So no officer is honest, and they are all dirty. We should fire them all. Maybe you'll be willing to tote a gun and wear a bullet proof vest for about 35k per year.

/I agree - they're not always right. But they aren't as horrific and vile as they are often made out to be.

Several burglars inside your home and you realize you can't get to your gun fast enough, I guess you'd just hope for the best since the police are not trying to help. Good luck with that fella.

they aren't perfect, just like any other profession
if you think something like that can never happen to you, then you have not been paying attention

First of all let me say this. I am a die hard huge State fan as well as most of my family, but what I'm about to pass along is NOT hearsay or false reports. The whole thing started over Chad dancing on Stage with white girls. He got attacked by some white guys who hit him with a beer bottle. I WOULD HAVE BLOWED UP TO, BUT I would not have taken it to the length that Bump took it to. A family member of mine was there and saw what Bump did. He's been a bouncer for many years at the local bars. Bump went crazy, bad crazy. He was very intoxicated. He took his shirt offthreateningto go get a gun and kill people, threatening to beat everyone up. The local PD showed up and they let him rant and vent for 15-20 minutes until they found out what was going on. No one knew who hit Bump so the police couldn't arrest anyone, but Bump continued to scream and holler and the police finally took him down. He even yelled at them that he wasn't worried about any of this bc he would be in Miami next week with strippers. Now when he got to the police dept. a friend of mine that is in law enforcement and a HUGE State fan as well had more interesting details. Bump was asked who he was and he proceeded to say he was Chad "effin" Bumphis and to back off because he was gonna own that jail bc white boys hit him and didn't arrest them. The cops could not find who hit him. He was hollering that him and Mullen own this town and they were gonna own them. After hearing these facts, I just cannot take Bumps side. He had a reason to get mad, we all would have, BUT he had no reason to take it this far. I hope he gets stiff punishment and comes back with his head on his shoulders and plays with a chip on his shoulder. This is just not the type of stuff I as a State fan will ever condone. #HAILSTATE

noone saw who hit him with the bottle. Also, I don't know what you mean by stiff punishment. Running your mouth while you're intoxicated doesn't seem that bad to me in the big picture. It's what most drunks do. I would be pissed also if someone hit me with a bottle and 20 witnesses saw nothing.

Yea I agree, I'm sure someone saw who hit him, but it's not the cops fault no one would tell. I would have been very mad myself, but if you're gonna go out in public then you have to know that you're gonna be representing your University. He should have controlled his temper better than he did. I meant maybe a 2 or 3 game punishment for his actions. You cannot threaten to kill people and go get a gun. That's just uncalled for.
