They wanted to have a coach through season's end. He likely negotiated money and the result of the negotiations were that he stay through season's end. I promise he would rather be almost anywhere than on the sideline that day. The only thing UM is interested in at this point is maintaining some resemblance of normality as they try to put out the fire with their Asian fire department.

I do agree he is already preparing for us like mad.

I think he stayed mainly for pride. Just so he can say he finished the season somewhat on his own terms. Kind of like being let go at a company but being allowed to work out a notice and close loose ends instead of being subjected to the humiliation of getting walked out the door.

With that said, knowing his SEC HC career is over, I believe he would give his left namesake to leave with a victory. So I expect he is spending whatever time he has on preparing for the egg bowl. His team probably hasn't even heard anyone mention LSU this week. For us this is a dangerous game. We just finished a bruiser against #3 and now we have to travel to #6 the week before. It will actually be an even more dangerous game for us if we manage somehow to beat arky but I will take that chance in a heartbeat.

Randall Mackey, Jeff Scott and Korvic Neat have all now been suspended for the LSU game for "violation of team rules." What a pitiful effort at physical preservation.
