But, if the cats can get 5-7, while looking like last night, and not the 6 quarters that was the second half of southern miss, and the Florida game, I'm ok with stoops being back. Louisville is a legit top 5 team. Ask Florida St about wining there. Bama this Saturday. Nuff said. So if we can get 2 more sec wins, and beat Austin Peay, while staying bought in like last night, I can't see pulling the plug.

The movie will be us passing on Petrino because we were so good at football that we wouldn't even interview the guy. You don't want to watch that movie.

If you are going to keep him this year... you gotta keep him next year also with that attitude because our schedule is much harder...... You know what? we play in the SEC with a whole conference full of good to great teams..... lets keep bad coaching forever. Its not like we're used to games in December / Jan. anyways...we wont miss em

Looking like we did against USC is exactly why I'm not encouraged. It was the best we played all year and we beat a very bad team by 7 points in our own building. The SEC East is garbage this year so we may be able to beat Vandy and Mizzou because of how bad they are too, but that's not something to be happy about.

What record would this team have if they played in the SEC that Brooks faced for much of his career? Florida was always good, UGA was up there as well. UT had some good teams and even if they didn't it wouldn't matter they beat us anyways. USC was light years better than they are now. Vandy wasn't great. We'd get smoked if the SEC was as strong as it was back then.

im not sure what record keeps him, or lets him go. but i do believe there is enough talent to field a good football team. if we see a good football team on the field these next 8 games we keep him, if not...we cant hesitate to make a change. time will tell

South Carolina is ranked 119 in total offense, and we beat them 17-10 at home.

We are ranked 113 in total defense.

No way in hell the OP runs a business. Keep hoping.

I think it's a UK fan thing to always say that the next years schedule is gonna be so much tougher, when you usually can't even judge that till the middle of that next season

Let's be fair in this and remember that Brooks got to face Kragthorpe 3 times at Louisville. If Petrino stays at Louisville, Brooks story is a little different today

Perhaps. He did beat #7 UL, although Kragthorpe was the coach as you mentioned. Anyways, Brooks' team is getting wins over USC, and Vandy routinely if his teams were playing now. USC and Vandy are two of worst power 5 teams in football. I'm not sure how different Mizzou is this year compared to last, but if they are similar Brooks' teams probably beats them too. He'd likely also have beaten UF once. Stoops should've won down in Gainesville. Brooks' teams would have had a good shot at 7-8 wins in this SEC landscape. 3 5-7 seasons is not something to be excited about. If that's our ceiling, it's time to move on.

We could have hired Petrino. We let Louisville have him back. The fans that hate him, never wanted him can cry about how bad we are for all I care. You all got what you wanted, now eat it. I'm so sick of terrible football. Yay, we beat a bad team at home. Everything is looking up now.

Not really. We know we are going to lose to FL and UT next year. That is two automatic losses on the schedule. Let's be real, UL is probably an automatic loss as well as long as they have Petrino and we have Stoops. Petrino could leave so let's TBD on that. All the swing games we have at home this year in Vandy, SC and MSU? They are on the road next year. That makes it tougher alone. And what makes you think we can win AT SOUTHERN MISS? Lol. So yes, next year's schedule is tougher overall.

ts.

Tell me UKWildcats#8, what would be your prescription for winning UK Football? Assuming you take me of ignore...haha

So do posters who have photos of the football team or football related items as their profile picture hate the basketball team? Do the posters with football related names hate the basketball team? By your logic they would.

He said he thinks UT and UF are automatic losses. The United States has had more Presidents than we do wins against them since the late 1970's at the latest. What exactly about expecting to get beat by those 2 teams is anti football? When we start beating those teams, we can expect to beat them.

Whyxare people impressed by lastnight? USCjr sucks and we played our best game of the season and still barely won. Yes you are part of the problem. Some of us actually care about UK football and want it to be great. Not mediocre for forever.

You're more mad at a random fan than our AD. Btw, we upgraded volleyball, and some Olympic sports.

No, I will rank the uk ad as high as he/she can effing go. I know this is a random fan and am glad volleyball was upgraded...in fact, we tail gated outside memorial coliseum around the tents set up there for sandy bells retirement.

"he" has been an *** for several years now antagonizing those folks who wish to see winning football. Your comment regarding UK Presidents makes the point. Gosh damn, I love to expect to be beat by those there them two teams!

Loves losing football, hates fans that question it. Mitch is set up for life. Thanks volleyball.

Going on the logic that Florida and Tennessee are automatic losses, then maybe the Cats can go 5-5 this year.

My comment regarding having more US Presidents since the Carter Administration than wins over UT and UF was making the point we shouldn't expect to beat those teams. Why is it irrational for a UK fan to think we'll lose those game? If we love the football team does that mean we have to think we're going to beat UT and UF. Any fan who expects to lose those games isn't a hater, they're rational fans of the team. It's a problem that needs fixed, but ridiculing that logic at this point is a little silly to me.

I would like to see uk win in football...simply put...nothing else.

Until changes are made to make that happen, I'll stay home and watch real college football, like say, UL and Clemson this saturday...

It's not irrational for a UK fan to think we'll lose those games...ITS EXPECTED!!!

Fact is Rich Brooks is the only UK coach to beat Petrino. Got him in 2008 on the road in Arkansas.

Putting a good football team on the field is different than being able to coach it. Stoops is not a very good talent developer, game manager and he sucks in game preparation. He may be a good assistant coach but he is no head coach.

If it were about any other school but Kentucky it would be reasonable to question how good a coach is that is celebrated by the fans even though he had a losing record. But he is the only coach in recent memory who left here because he wanted to, other than Guy Morriss, and left having turned around his record. Arguably his first 3 years were gruesome but he had a winning record from that point on and who knows what might have been if he'd been 5 years younger when he took over.
It wasn't great but it sure was fun at times.

This is a problem. This post suggests the script has been written and there is nothing that can now be done. It focuses on Petrino. Anyone who cannot get past Petrino is a problem.

I think we win a bit bigger, say another TD, had we not lost 2-0 on turnovers. Now if that's what we should expect - 2-0 TO losses - then I can't much argue against you.

Whatever the bar for acceptable excellence we set as a fan base is going to determine what results we get. Regardless of the SEC money that some of y'all think is going to offset any protests, fan attendance and donations etc are what drive the program. If we say we're good with 6 wins and a crap bowl, that's what we'll continue to get. Our best season in 32 years was 7-5 plus a bowl win over Clemson. Most SEC coaches would be on the hot seat if that was all they produced. Winning 5 games this year is simply unacceptable. Get that loser mentality out of here. Frankly you should be embarrassed publicly admitting you're OK with 3 5 win seasons in a row. It's shameful.
