He doesn't actually say why they are redshirting. Why would you redshirt if not for injury or transfer? I don't follow college basketball incredibly closely, but is it normal for a 2nd year player who played in 26 games the season prior to voluntarily choose to redshirt his entire 2nd season? Maybe it's totally normal and I'm out of the loop.

I’ll say this…unless he improved dramatically, and I mean dramatically, the Cam Scott of last season wouldn’t be seeing the floor this season.

It would be helpful if CBB adopted CFB's 33% rule. That would give players the opportunity to play in games and improve without losing eligibility. If that's why Cam is sitting out.

It's hard to determine, but it sorta sounds like they're redshirting on purpose because they're not getting playing time. Seemed like maybe Paris wasn't too keen on redshirting them, so maybe they're doing it themselves to preserve eligibility for their next school. Weird that it would happen this soon in the season, but being able to play 3 more years somewhere else is important. How many years has Meechie been playing?
