Can Stoops finally beat someone in the last 7 games in year 4?

Save vandy, those teams don't play close to the same strength of schedule as us.

What Franklin did at vandy was fantastic, doesn't mean it's a good standard to judge our coach by/other coaches in a comparable situation

True.

But EACH of these teams has beaten this coaching staff regardless of their poor conference and schedule....

You guys are wasting your time, if mitch wouldn't fire Brown to save a couple of hundred thousand buyout then he sure as hell isn't paying EIGHTEEN MILLION to change this whole staff.

You might be able to hurt recruiting though.

Winning the Vandy game is both doable and CRUCIAL though. .

I love how some guys dismiss the accomplishments of coaches at lower level teams in other conferences than the SEC, like Texas/Oklahoma/TCU, or Michigan/Ohio State/Wisconsin/Penn State/Mich State or Clemson/Fla State/Louisville/Miami just play two hand touch or flag football.

Clemson won. UK didn't. Big difference.
Clemson also knew exactly which qb to prepare for. We split reps on prep and did make the starter get benched. As bad as it looked at the time, with lamer seems to be the norm as he is best player in country

Who is dismissing those schools. But top to bottom sec is hands down better than those.

In turn the coaches mentioned are not at any of those schools as examples. Why? Because those are good programs on the conference. Franklin was great at vandy, but hasn't even had same success at a much better program in penny state. Most coaches "fit" better at certain spots. Might ne recruiting bases as to style of play. But who knows. Success at even mid level power fives don't equal big time success at other programs. Charlie strong is another prime example

It wouldn't have mattered. We would have lost with a year's forewarning on the QB situation.

No coach is handed a program as bad as Stoops was handed either.
Actually Barry, if you look at the 3 year records preceding a coaching change, just about every coach since Charlie Bradshaw not named Joker (and maybe Curry) took over about the same thing Stoops took over.

Peace

But if we keep Stoops for too many years his successor will certainly get a program in as bad shape. Also let's not forget the program he inherited is long gone now. He is not losing games off of Joker's recruits such as Bud Dupree, Josh Forrest and Avery Williamson. He is now losing games with his own recruits.

I don't know about "hands down" better, but top to bottom, sure the SEC is the best. But it is still no harder for Kentucky to win 7 or 8 or (do we even dare speak it??) 9 games in a season in the SEC (like Vandy, MIssouri and South Carolina all recently have) than for Northwestern to win the Big 10, or Oregon State to win the PAC 12, or freakin Wake Forest to win the ACC. You will just never convince me otherwise.

And every time this topic comes up, someone mentions the SEC, as if it is literally impossible for us to ever envision anything other than being a total bottom feeder.

To that I say "BS"

You cant be serious...I would explain all of the cases of equally worse or worse programs coaches were handed but others already have. All of these players on this team were Stoops doing. How do you explain losing to CUSA in year 4 with all players you receuited for your style of ball. Just plain ridiculous.
Idiotic comment...as usual. How do you explain UGA almost losing to Nichols State? Just another Bobby Petrino fanboy...get lost .

Lol you verify my comment is idiotic because a team who has lost its last 2 games and won 3 games by a total of 12 points almost got beat by Nicholls. Alot of bad tems keep up with teams who are better. Happens every week in college football. I in no way want Bonby P nor can you prove that

Another idiotic comment...as usual.

That's not true that they prepared for both quarterbacks. Josh forest admitted after the game last year that they didn't prepare for Lamar Jackson at all when they prepped for Louisville. He said it while being interviewed after the game. One big coaching blunder by our staff. Agree with you that Lamar is the best player in the country.
