As long as he doesn't try to hit home runs all night. It will be a shame if he gets the hook for running east and west and sometimes south too much. He does seem to be doing better at limiting himself to one cut on the south side of the LOS. I just fear a return to old habits faced with the Dawgs, trying too hard to make a statement.

Let's see.... rushed for 216 vs USC, rushed for 258 against Vandy, rushed for 262 against Miss. State, and rushed for 377 vs Mizzou.
Other than Mizzou, the other 3 teams are noted for playing good or great defense. Why would we not be able to run against UGA at home ? S Johnson has been throwing the ball well the last couple of games 500 yds, 5 TD's and 1 int. I forsee another good game from the O on saturday night.

The Gators got about 130 yards rushing against them if you subtract negative yards for sacks, OTOH the Dawgs got a total of 21 yards of rushing against them. I think if we don't give up on the run early we can eventually wear these guys down in the 4th quarter like we have other teams, by rotating in 9 linemen and just keep running this offense.
It's not just about brute force, Kentucky's blocking scheme is very difficult for defenses to deal with. They pull and gap block one time, and then zone block the next time. When you execute these schemes well as we have been doing, it really becomes a challenge to stop guys like Williams and Snell. Recall we even had some success against Bama's 5 star studded defense at times - and Georgia may be good, but they ain't no Alabama.

We've got an offensive line that likes to be aggressive and run block. They don't seem to like sitting back on their heels and pass protect. Johnson needs to throw some and fumble none. He can do that.
Don't remember what coach said in passing three things can happen. Two of them are bad. I trust our team and coaches to do what is best.
Agree, but Johnson has to make the throw. It's been there a bunch this season and seems like his hardest throw for some reason. (Happy feet, I think?)

CATS much improved d. line particularly Pringle and Middleton could be a tough match ups for Jawja tackles and guards. Ware, Brown, and Jones must keep constant pressure on Eason from the edge.
UGA is my second favorite SEC team but I don't think they are as physical or talented as recent Bulldog teams. I thought Nick Chubb was going to be their next Hershel but his offensive line is negating his play. Coach Kirby is use to coaching Bama talent and does not have that with this UGA squad===flustering!

I think we can run for 160 yards plus. I feel like Johnson might have to move the pocket for some of his passes. Must Use Tight ends also. Also think Johnson will run a few times this game. Defense is the real key, for Us to win. I think we win.
Putting pressure on Eason makes sense. He's not very effective moving out of the pocket and extending plays, but you can't allow him to dump it to Chubb or Michel when he is in trouble, they'll run through our secondary.
They may be able to stop us more often than the past 3 teams we've played, but still believe we run for over 200 yards. I just don't think people realize how good this team is now at running the ball. And seems to be getting better each week. Should also have a healthy Jojo back there this weekend to help.
I do agree that SJ needs to do more in the passing game this week though. He has GOT to hit that pass to the TE. He's been open every game and everytime it's either too high or not enough loft to get over defensive line. I'd practice that 1000 times this week.

Our offensive line is better than the gators offensive line, on the other hand our defense isn't even close to gators defense.
To me - I'm hoping this is the game where Stoops wins me over as a defensive mind.
I want to see him dial up some way to get pressure on their young QB WHILE being able to still somewhat contain their potent rushing attack. If Chubb and co. have a week where they "get off" we will be in trouble, but UGa has athletes to where if we just stack the box, we will get burnt in pass pro also

I think this game could be a stalemate offensively and defensively. This is the type of game that special teams will be crucial, and that honestly worries me a bit. Our punter has been less than average this year, and they have an outstanding returner. Lots of attention needs to be given to the coverage team(s) leading up to the game.
We can run it on Georgia, but not to the tune of two players over 150 yards...definitely need to have some success in the passing game.

Eddie Gran and Darrin Hinshaw have plenty of playbook left, they know how GA and TN will scheme them, if Johnson executes, plenty of big pass plays available in this scheme
UGA ranks 24th in rushing defense efficiency, but only 89th in pass defense efficiency. UK ranks 8th in rushing offense efficiency, so obviously we still give them a heavy dose of the run game. We'll need to mix in some pass plays down the field like we need against MSU and Mizzou. GO BB!!
