Stoops? Joker?
They've shown improvement.....Stoops finally addressed the main issue of Eliot....see how they do against Vandy, MSU and Mizzou even UGA. To call for the mans head by judging this game is unreasonable! Bama destroys most teams they play!

Has nothing to do with this game today. And there has been little to no improvement since Stoops got here.

So let me get this straight, you'd prefer to have Mark Stoops right now at UK over Les Miles?

If we were serious about football we would offer a blank check to Herman. If we were just kinda serious we would offer Brohm a smaller check, but HUGE compared to WKU. I hope stoops can get us bowling, I really, really do!!! But if he doesnt, another "up and coming Farty McShittballs" will be our coach again if MB makes the hire. Thats the truth folks. And that is sad considering we have a lot of talent on the field. Stoops has produced in the recruiting arena for UK. I still have hope he has learned how to run a SEC fball program.

Stoops has been here for 3 years. Why has it taken him over 3 years to see that Eliot isn't a good defensive coordinator? Why give him more time to correct a 3 year long mistake?

Enuff Said! If you didn't see that the players played with heart and passion, then at least tell me tou noticed they lined up correctly? The O Line looked much better, the D line got push....4 sacks. Ok SCAR isn't very good, but they beat Vandy and they are an SEC team. I was calling for Stoops head as well when we lost to SMU, barely beat NMSU, then blown out at UF. That's because he has been unwilling to fire Eliot. But after watching the improvement vs SCAR, I think he deserves a few more games to show more improvement. Miles would not work here! Hell, he was struggling at LSU and they're top 10 recruiting year in and year out! Miles....Don't be ridiculous!

Hey....in the end, he addressed it....let's see if now he can build a D like FSU's. If so, we are a very dangerous team!

How long do we give him to correct his mistakes? I get that we had one good game defensively, but why should that change our entire outlook? Stoops took over the defense before the NMSU game and it was still a disaster for at least 3 quarters of that game.

Stoops is the defense! Always has been, don't be gullible.

And just what you were implying by making note of my avatar? I hate UK football because I love UK basketball? Don't be dumb or ever question what color I bleed. You have no effing idea who I am.

Oh. please God. A first tier football coach instead of a kid in training...Miles would have us winning 8 games first season. I'll take your money in the back...

How's his record in the East? We have no chance of ever beating Florida with Stoops at the helm.

You know what you were insinuating pointing out my avatar. You cant reasonably defend Stoops so you attempt to make it personal.

When I read posts like yours and other posters who are just happy with lining up the right way, showing some fight, and just not getting embarrassed out there it makes me think that us fans truly get what we deserve with this non sense year in and year out.

Did he really fail? He won a national championship and went to another title game. I wish he'd fail like that here.
You think he could bring his old magic at UK? I guess LSU didnt give him enough, no brand name, no money and he had a failed recruiting class? Just saying man, WTF. :grimace:

Ok....fire him NOW! Then what? Who can turn it around this year? Give the man until the end of the season is all I'm saying....damn! He showed improvement....fans like you and these other defeatists just stir up s**t and it affects any positive we may be riding at the time! Don't be a cancer to BBN!

Blame the fans. So lame.

My perspective is not the cause of what is or what will take place within the football program.

People saying Les wouldn't be able to bring in the recruits to UK are wrong. Kids love Les and 90% of the time kids commit to coaches not schools. Les would bring better players to UK you can bet on that. His name has weight, much like Saban, Meyer, Harbough, when Les Miles walks in your living room you are at full attention.

He wouldn't get anywhere near the quality of classes that he brought in at LSU.

So... once again... did he really fail? I mean, I guess he failed in that he hadn't been to a title game in 5 years, and that he wasn't going undefeated every couple of years, but he was still winning 8+ games in every single year. The guy is 39-16 since winning a title in 2011. It is not like he had slipped to only winning 5-6 games. He won 9+ games in every single season at LSU except two, that's 9 out of 11 years when he won over 8 games, and he never won fewer than 8. He has done this in the hardest division in the hardest conference in the entire country.

The guy has had just 2 recruiting classes outside of the top 10 in the past 11 years. Still, it raises the question of whether he will be able to recruit outside of the state of Louisiana. None of us know the answer to that question. However, in 2003 he had a top 15 recruiting class at Oklahoma State, and despite not having the greatest recruiting classes at OK State in other years he was able to still go out and win 7+ games in 3 of the 4 seasons there. It is hard to know how he would do here. He could possibly get a lot of recruits on his name alone. He has ties to Louisiana and Texas and could very well recruit those places quite well.

Fact of the matter is that we don't know how any coach will do here. If we go with Brohm we don't know how he will recruit and how his offense will do in the SEC. If we go with Herman we have to ask whether he would still be able to get talented under the radar kids from Texas, or if he could get better recruits. Hell, even if we got Saban we still have to wonder how he would do without having the ability to get a good core of Alabama recruits. We know Miles is a national championship winning coach with some flaws... I would be more than willing to see how he does at UK. If nothing else, I don't think he would leave us in a bad position 4-5 years from now.

Ahhhhh.....as I said earlier. I was shouting from the rooftops as well after the losses! Not blaming fans, but fans being negative certainly isn't helping with anyone's confidence! SCAR although not great, is a fairly decent team people! They beat UNC who is pretty good of late, they beat ECU who is usually top notch in there conference. It sucks that we lost those games, but we showed significant improvement on D and on O Line! Still 8 games left. I'm just saying we'll see what happens.....then if we still don't go bowling, scream bloody murder then.....NOT NOW! Don't be a cancer to our BLUE!

Would Les be better than Stoops? Well the obvious answer is yes- Stoops isn't in the same stratosphere as Les. But Miles' best days are behind him and he refuses to run the type of offense necessary to win at UK. Three yards and cloud of dust won't work here. Miles is the Tubby Smith of football.

I hate basketball analogies, but Tubby won NC with Rick's players. Les won with Les' players

Miles is a big name and big enough that CBS is talking about him. He will be discuss d the rest of the season.

He's a smart guy too with connections. Those connections would lead to recruiting success we've never had, even if not being up to par with his recruiting hauls at LSU. He would be a topic of discussion every Saturday and give us exposure we aren't accustomed too.

He's a winner. He has a schtick and is very quotable. Get the right OC and he'd be a true rock star here.

Brohm or Brown. We need a young offensive coach that can put points on the board. The list should begin and end with those two especially since they'd be more likely to stay long term assuming they have success here.

How would we pay for him and buyout Stoops? Would Miles still be getting paid by LSU?

Brown is not the solution. He would maintain the status quo of 5 win seasons. Great guy with UK ties but against the SEC it would be difficult for him to succeed.

Why? Played Clemson tough at their place, beat Southern Miss at their place and he's experiencing this success in only his second year as a head coach. Seems to me Troy is better than UK right now. Assuming Troy has a great year, what's not to like?

Nope and from what was said on KSR yesterday he might not be short of a 3 win season. Jones said yesterday the big time boosters really like Mark Stoops. In comparison, that's what got Miles fired from LSU. Boosters lost their patience and wanted a change.

So next year when UK football is still mired in mediocrity and people want to blame Mitch you can throw the boosters in there too with that. If our big time boosters are that blind, then they are also a reason for the program's struggles just like the administration
Yall can't even name the "big time boosters".

Money isn't an issue at UK. If MB will throw bank at a coach in training wheels, he'd hand over a blank check to Les Miles and not think twice.

The people that are saying no to Les are the same people that said no Petrino 4 years ago and then were bitching after the USM game complaining about Mitch not hiring Bobby.

Les is no Bill Curry 2.0, and if U.K. were to hire him it would be the top new hire of the year.

ANY coach that has won a BCS title would be a homerun hire for U.K., much less one with 2. Plus Les has had a 13-0 regular season in the SECW and he is loyal to his university, not a Bobby P.
