Let's say next week you are flying transatlantic for business and get upgraded to first class. You make your way to your seat and recognize a famous face in the seat next to you.

Who would you like to meet enough that a flight that long would produce a conversation worth having?

So nobody who you just want an autograph from. Nobody who's just another beautiful or talented but otherwise vapid moron. Someone you imagine would be interesting.

Gary Sinese is the first guy I think of. Dave Grohl too.

Grohl would be cool.

Mike Rowe.
Ron Paul.
Russell Brand.

Trying to think of someone that I know drinks enough to loosen up a little bit.

Bill Murray.
Steve Martin.

Any easily manipulated single celebrity female with questionable morals and low standards.

Curt Schilling and I would be failing business partners with his money by the time we landed.

I feel like I'm entirely too hungover to make this list. I'll have to revisit.

Good friend of mine, sharp guy, got a seat next to Steve Martin on a flight about a decade ago. Said Martin just politely demurred to say much of anything to him or anyone else and turned down autograph request from other passengers. So, while I would have likely had him in my top 3 or 4, I know I can scratch him off the list.

Coincidentally, the book my buddy had with him to pass the time during the flight? Pure Drivel by Steve Martin. He did say that when he pulled the book out of his bag to start reading it, Martin gave him kind of a wry smile and said - "Nice." He said that since Martin had turned down others, he didn't even bother to ask him to sign it and Martin never offered.

Agreed. That's why the answer takes some thought. Doesn't have to be a transatlantic flight. But some situation where it's natural to strike up a regular guy conversation with someone who is famous.

John Wayne or Jimmy Stewart....yes I know they are both long gone, but still would be an absolutely awesome experience.

Kris Kristofferson would probably be my first choice. The dude has done it all. I think he'd be a great conversation.

Natalie Portman. I think she is incredibly beautiful, but not in a fake way. I have always had the impression that she is down to earth and not snooty. More of a person who happens to be an actress.

Chris Pratt seems to be the most normal guy and unchanged guy in Hollywood. We could talk hunting, fishing, kids and how he got such a cool hot wife while he was fat.

Second person would be his wife.

Eric Stonestreet. Huge college football fan, Kansas State guy, good follow on Twitter. Seems approachable, and you could probably just have a generic CFB conversation with him.

Not to be smarmy, but no one. When I fly I strongly prefer the seat to be empty next to me. Seats are already pretty cramped, even some in 1st class. So if I had to choose someone I would choose someone that takes up very little space ... Reese Witherspoon, Anna Kendrick, or Kristin Bell. They are barely 5 feet tall, thin, and easy on eyes.

But if it wasn't on a flight then my answer is easy -- Sir Charles.

I would say Prince. Which would mean he's no longer dead. But I'd probably get him on a day when he would either not talk or would have someone talk for him.

But of the living, I'd think a conversation with Leon Russell would be really cool.

Ellen Degeneres

There's my final answer. For now.

I think for a female this would be mine too. Maybe Amy schumer but I think Ellen would be more intelligent and insightful. I pick her because it will theoretically be a long flight and I feel like either one of these would be entertaining in an intelligent way for the entire time.

Dead I would like to sit next to someone like hp lovecraft or Edgar Allen Poe and discuss what they expected their impact to be.

Musically I think I would pick dio or Freddy Mercury. Man Elvis would have so many good stories even if I don't care that much about his music. Current music artist has to be Trent reznor for sure. Just such a fan boy and could easily ask him questions for hours no problem. Deep discussions on the future of music and music distibrution would be very lengthy.

A love author would probably be Stephen King or Robert McCammon.

Just completely random dead or alive I'm going with hunter s Thompson.

Intelligent females I would love to have hours to talk with bjork as well. I could go on and on but I'll stop.

Met Vince Vaughn and he was very cordial, would like to meet again and be able to have a chat longer than pleasantries and random questions. Others; Adam Carolla, Matt Damon (believe it or not), Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Sandra Bullock (still smoking), I think that's it.

All I can think of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", which obviously taught him nothing.

I had a Great time drinking with Barney Martin who played Jerry Seinfeld's dad. He also played Liza Minelli's dad in Author. Barney was in lots of movies and Broadway plays. We were together at the Vince Gill celebrity golf tournament in the VIP tent for a couple hours. When we started to leave, I ask Barney if he would take a pic with me and he said yes. I got someone to take the pic and when the pic was taken, Barney said "wait!" and gave his camera to the guy and said "take a pic with my camera" LOL, he was a great guy!
