The State Penn kids probably don't even know the EL story and probably thought that they were cheering for their team. I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't be respectful if the knew what the tribute was all about.I noticed that as well and thought it BS.

The "kids" are coached & choreographed by their coaches.
Did they miss Eric on the big board saying "Mr DJ play my song" and the song starting, the lights turning red, our guy running across the field with the bELive flag, stopping at midfield to waive it before continuing to the end zone and turning around & running back?
Sorry, not buying it.

True, not the same thing because 1000% one wasn’t intentional. Hating big brother skews judgment.Horrible on the students acting that way, especially against Navy.
But not the same thing when it's on field members of the athletic department doing it.

True, but again…there is absolutely no chance PSU knowingly disregarded the EL moment. Ridiculous. Two wrongs don't make a right.

It was an unfortunate coincidence.
True, but again…there is absolutely no chance PSU knowingly disregarded the EL moment. Ridiculous.
Most likely RU never communicated it.
Why bother with an a-hole troll? It's obvious it is a Syracuse or PSU fan. Waste of energyThere are no such things as coincidences
I call BS. You can’t say “no chance” just as I can’t say it’s a “100 percent certainty.” Let’s just leave it at this: when that moment comes during the game it’s clear (even to someone with Stevie Wonder’s eyesight) that there is special programming going on and as an opposing cheer team, you shouldn’t be on the field competing for attention.True, but again…there is absolutely no chance PSU knowingly disregarded the EL moment. I noticed it too and was initially pissed, but after thinking about it I figured that they almost certainly didn't realize it was a LeGrand tribute. They aren't regulars at Rutgers home games so they didn't know what was about to happen, LeGrand saying "DJ play my song" is not indicative of it being a tribute, and there's no way they noticed the BELIEVE flag coming from all the way behind the opposite end zone. They aren't watching the field and jumboscreen to see what's going on, they have their backs to all of that stuff because they are on the field facing the fans in the away section. I find it much more believable that they were just unaware of what was going on than they noticed it and chose to be
1. How do you know there is "absolutely no chance"?
2. Once the tribute started, why didn't they shut down? Something was obviously going on. This was more organized than a bunch of shitfaced undergrads (who still had no excuse).
2. Because they didn’t know. How is was it obvious to people who don’t pay attention to our program ? You think cheerleaders are listening and watching the big screen while they do their routines ? You think they know who EL is ?1. How do you know there is "absolutely no chance"?

If someone informs them. No, not obvious in the moment.I call BS. Exactly. Embarrassing that anyone wouldn’t agree with you.I noticed it too and was initially pissed, but after thinking about it I figured that they almost certainly didn't realize it was a LeGrand tribute. We’ll have to agree to disagree. You do go to the games, correct? If someone informs them. No, not obvious in the moment.
Shelby never misses a home game. Which is your view:We’ll have to agree to disagree. You do go to the games, correct?
Then you don’t know Pedd state fans. They are still in denial. The State Penn kids probably don't even know the EL story and probably thought that they were cheering for their team. I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't be respectful if the knew what the tribute was all about.
Or c. Read the room. Look, you simply hate Rutgers so I know we’re not getting anywhere with this conversation.Shelby never misses a home game. Which is your view:
a) Rutgers Athletics informs PSU Athletics in advance of this important moment in our games and PSU declines to oblige and keep its cheer group off the field, OR
b) Rutgers Athletics does not inform PSU, but the cheer team during its routine recognizes the situation and should have stopped its action.
Both of the above possibities are absurd. And again, why no oxygen about this from Schiano or the media ? You noticed but they didn’t ?
Pathetic Pete !! Weak. No answer, huh ? Let’s hear how you think it went down. Reason A or B ?Or c. Read the room. Look, you simply hate Rutgers so I know we’re not getting anywhere with this conversation.
Agree, except he wasn’t QB. And it’s certain that advanced communication didn’t happen. It would probably be good for there to be some communication in advance between RU and the visiting school to assure that the visiting school knows that there will be a tribute and when it will be. Older fans will recall that Penn State QB Adam Taliaferro (later a graduate of the Rutgers-Camden law school) was paralyzed on a hit, and so PSU ought to be able to understand our desire to remember what happened to Eric.
Why would you need to do that. And what would having a conversation accomplish. This is a school and administration that covered up child rape for close to 40 years. Their coach just wore a button on his lapel honoring the coach that if he didn’t die would have been brought up in charges for the cover up. Throughout all the years we have been doing the tribute there is only one school that continues to **** on everywhere they go in the B1G. I have been to most of the B1G stadiums and without fail the fans that I have interacted with most will say the 2 most obnoxious fan groups are OSU and Pedd State. It would probably be good for there to be some communication in advance between RU and the visiting school to assure that the visiting school knows that there will be a tribute and when it will be. Had a Pedd state group of 10 or so (2 families with children ranging from 3-8) sitting beside us. They drank until the beer cart sold out. Cursed and demeaned most around us. But became holier than thou when a fan responded Pedd state when the We are chant started in the 4th Q. They had no problem embarrassing themselves and their children with their drunken idiocy but said they “ had children present” at this time. Told them it was a teaching moment and should let them know that their Alma mater valued wins over protecting children. Met with silence. This annoyed me. I hope Zinn contacted their AD to express our displeasure. We had some annoying drunk idiot PSU fans behind 124 and 125 yelling and cursing up a storm for the 2nd half, and a few puking their brains out in the restrooms behind 125 and 126.
Correct, Taliferro was a cornerback trying to make a tackle. But that doesn't change my point.Pathetic Pete !! Weak. No answer, huh ? Let’s hear how you think it went down. Reason A or B ?
and also explain why this didn’t make news and wasn’t mentioned by the HC who is very supportive of EL ?
Agree, except he wasn’t QB. And it’s certain that advanced communication didn’t happen.
Pathetic that some people think this interruption/distraction was intentional. An intelligence abomination is what it is. Expected from most but Lady Screw’s homer bias is surprising. Disappointing but surprising.
711…see the irrelevance, immaturity and low intellect above. Case closed. Why would you need to do that. And what would having a conversation accomplish. When someone resorts to insults you got them. My response and point stand. Bringing up the news angle is just moving the goalposts on your argument which is something you lean on frequently here. It doesn’t matter if it hit the news or not, Rutgers fans noticed and weren’t happy. That’s the most important thing. Do better and leave the insults at home next time.Pathetic Pete !! Weak. There's no way to know what Penn State fans knew. I think we would all agree that what happened shouldn't have happened, and that something needs to be done to try to stop it from happening again. Maybe Penn State fans are such asses that there's nothing that can be done to prevent a repetition -- that wouldn't amaze me -- but everyone at least ought to try.
The moronic insinuation here is that either the involved PSU leadership rejected a request by RU keep the cheer squad quiet or off the field during the EL moment, or if no request was made, the cheer squad should have recognized it in the moment and aborted mid-routine. The OP and eager believers are not speaking of fan behavior.Correct, Taliferro was a cornerback trying to make a tackle. But that doesn't change my point.

A, B or stop posting. Simple question. What specifically do you allege ?When someone resorts to insults you got them. My response and point stand. well the Rutgers fans, whomever, nearest should have done something about it. That's how you build rivalries. Need to blood and tears.....During the bELive tribute for Eric, they had their cheer team, on the field, waving their flags starting the "we are" chant
Just when you think they can't get any lower.
You can see R guy in the end zone with the bELive flag making his turn around to come back down the field
