9. Georgia's a total mess.

I mean, a really, really steaming pile of crap right now.

With games left at Kentucky, and at home against Auburn, Louisiana Lafayette and Georgia, it's possible the Bulldogs go 5-7 and don't even make a bowl game.

And you want to talk about pressure, can you imagine what's going to happen if Kirby Smart's boys go to Kentucky and lose this weekend? Good Lord, look out.[banana]

Looks like Kentucky's lofty SEC record might buoy Alabama to the SEC West title if they drop the Auburn game.

Its a shame the two biggest mouthpieces for the SEC are Paul Finebaum (Tennessee grad but Bama homer) and Clay Travis (Vandy grad but Tennessee homer.) Kentucky could increase their visibility if we had someone competent and savvy enough to be that guy. MJ knows squat about football and whatever day it was this week that I was able to tune in, he spent two hours discussing the NBA opening day and UK's 11th men off the bench minutes, when we have UK in the midst of a chase for an SEC East title, the NFL, and the best World Series in a long time. I've said for a long time the media around here has a large share of the culpability for the lack of culture change around our fans focus and expecations.

Georgia is still Georgia. They have 4 and 5 star talent at every position and now they are wounded. I say we have to play our best game to date to beat these guys. We don't have Florida's overall defensive talent and they completely overwhelmed Georgia's offensive line. I figure we get plenty of Chubb and play action. This will tell a lot about our team.

Agree. It's going to be a tall order but I have us winning. (Imagine that!)

The whining about KSR is always amusing. He spent the entire first hour talking about football and then even a good portion of the 2nd hour. He spent a good portion of the (basketball) post-game show talking about football. In his network of podcasts he has 2 dedicated exclusively to football.

What else do you want him to do? Ignore basketball? Ignore our former players in the NBA? That just isn't going to happen, nor should it.

Georgia does have two defensive starters who are questionable this week (Sanders and Hawkins).

why shouldn't it? why do FB fans feel like backroom dealing for media time and attention finds UK brass trading away FB favors. this team will not have a losing conference record this year, a major accomplishment yet we hear and see as much exhibition bb hokum and fob follies in mainstream media. wait your freaking turn.

I shouldn't have to explain why basketball shouldn't have to take a back seat.

Because ........

Like it or not, this is the time of year with both sports starting up. There is plenty to talk about with both. If you don't like hearing basketball talk in late October, then that's not Matt Jones' problem.

Because this isn't Alabama it is UK. Plus generally the more you win the more you are talked about. We beat uga and it I can promise you more talk. Beating the 4 worst sec teams is cool but we have a ways to go.

UGA has talent, but it is not stocked with 4 & 5-Star talent at every position. That doesn't mean they won't be a tough game for UK this weekend, but the Dawgs have some issues.

Jacob Eason is a great talent at QB, but he's still a true freshman and isn't surrounded by loads of talent. The UGA WR's are essentially undersized guys who have difficulty getting open and are inconsistent in catching passes .. lots of dropped balls. Chubb is just not what he was before his injury. The offensive line may be one of the worst in the SEC. McKenzie, Michel, and Nauta are the only players on the UGA offense that should scare anybody.

Their defense is better, as a unit, particularly the D-Line. Not much depth in the secondary, but good starters. Their punting is a work in progress. PK is acceptable.

If UK can't get pressure on Eason, he may pick you apart using the TE and RB's. That may set up play-action runs, but they are nothing special on offense.

I have listened to his show a lot the last few days. Football has been a big topic with a lot of discussion. Plus it is his show- he can discuss whatever he wants. If you want a football exclusive talk show, I suggest you start your own. And I will be happy to listen to it often.

This UGA game scares me. You know UGA is going to be hungry. GA is still GA they won't just roll over and give it to us like Missouri. They have the running backs to keep our D on the field and wear them down as well. They didn't look good against Flordia from what I saw, but I didn't watch the whole game so can't say either way what will happen on Sat. Just hope Stoops has them ready to play.

Some of our fanbase is acting like we are going to win out. I would really love for this happen! Believe me, after all these years I think most of us would love to see us in Catlanta!

We have a shot and a really good shot just need to keep our cool and focus one game at a time.

Georgia has a good football team and a lot of talent. I'm not sure about their head coach, but UK will be fortunate to walk away with a win Saturday night. And I think they will.

hey, no biggie, but I wasn't referring to any particular 'show', but rather media coverage in general.

If they had offensive lineman to go with those running backs UGA might be feeling pretty good. As it stands now the running backs and QB are just targets in the backfield.

If Uga had our O-line,Chubb would be putting up bigger numbers than Leonard Fournette.

I am glad they do not have our O-line.

This is the only place in the country where thst misguided logic holds any weight whatsoever, and only because so many misguided folks such as yourself are deluded into thinking it means more. He did not spend an hour and a half discussing it. That simply isnt true.

Dd I say ignore basketball? No. Opening day in thw NBA? Of course you mention whatever statlines the guys had. Ignoring the NFL however and what our guys did in it apparently is OK by you. Same for the World freaking Series. Any other SEC school show would be spending the overwhelming amount of their attention on their team's race in the conference. Who flippin cares about thr NBA? Its unwatchable. Instead here we have more coverage because nitwits like yourself think basketball is better. It isn't better, it just wins more.

I'm more than happy to discuss Georgia's woeful OL or inept WRs. Or what about their front 7 on D? They're pretty solid and their pass D has steadily improved this season, meaning we'll have to rely on Johndon more Saturday and pray he doesn't commit a bunch of TO's. Fortunately Georgia hasn't shown a proclivity for capitalizing on TO's. Now if only we could just find a radio show that could intelligently discuss these things during and throughout the week leading up to the game for more than 20 minutes [laughing]
