Weren’t we the only school in the country for a long time with that mascot name?
So per google, Black Mountain in NC was the Dark Horses until 91’ until it merged with the swannanoa Warriors to now be known as the Black Mountain Owen WarHorses. But no their current school anywhere has our mascot name, but apparently another school in NC did at one time.
Btw most common name, Eagles. Over 1200 schools in US. Who do we play tonight? You guessed it, the eagles.

Almost 95% of the folks in E-Town didn't want the mascot and color change with the new school being built. The East Bladen "Cougars" wearing orange and black was a tradition.

Having technical difficulties with the broadcast. But just before the broadcast went out, Clinton returned the kickoff for an apparent touchdown, but there was a personal foul against the Dark Horses, so not sure if the touchdown counted.

A couple.of miscues chalk it up to two weeks since any live action....special teams mistake on the KO return for TD that was a nuce return by #32 Wallace only to be taken away....and here and the 2nd leting EB trick you on the fake punt

Clinton starters were subbed out early in the 3rd quarter, it's been East Bladen's 1st offense versus our 2nd and 3rd string.
43-16 Final good game probably could of been worse Johnson was subbing 2nd team guys in early in the 3rd....good win enjoy it now on to the next game ill post my final unofficial stats when i get home

Just a quick synopsis-Clinton is LOADED at running back! Coach Johnson played both quarterbacks tonight, I guess he's trying to figure out who will be the starter.
O-line is HUGE!! One of the largest O-lines in recent memory.
Defense played lights out. Pitched a shutout before starters were substituted out in the beginning of the 3rd. The only weak spot tonight was the interior D-line at times.
Again, 1st game of the season, so there were some penalties, including the opening kickoff return for touchdown. I'm sure those will be cleaned up as the season rolls along.
Offense showed great balance tonight, also mixture of hurry up no-huddle and huddle and multiple sets.
Great first win of the season! Next week, showdown in ACTIONville against Northside in another rivalry game.

Yeah @FOOTBALLFANTIC pretty much hit it all penalties were the only real big issue i saw tonight we had alot of them and usually on a real nice run.....defense was gashed a time or two i think because we were doing alot of blitzing and risk reward with that blitz the wrong side or hole and bam you leave a opening...good thing we tackled very well didnt see any bad technique and everyone flowed to the ball......Kaba man among boys had a great game and was very vocal supporting his teammates......offensively great depth in the backfield Wallace,Faison,and Smith stood out amongst the committee.....oline blocked well just gotta clean uo those holding penalties.....both QBs looked good running the offense King played a great game beside the 1 int....gotta work on that timing with the outside WR.....great job handling place kicking duties aswell....overall good game happy to be back in Darkhorse stadium great crowd tonight

Now for East Bladen what is the issue??? They were 9-3 last season and only lost 10 seniors....im guessing its some guys not playing or something...they have athletes line was good size...Clinton had our miscues in scoring position but so did EB early when they fumbled inside the 5.....hope they get it turned around and im sure they will one of the most consistent programs here in the East.... @ebeagles good luck to the Eagles the rest of the way
On another note, Utah State’s Jaylan Warren had 141 rushing yards versus Wake Forest. Jaylan was born in Clinton but moved to Salt Lake City as a small child.
