Now you're channeling Major Tool.He is LSUs Gene Chznik (sp?)
This board raved about Coach O during the NC season, but it was always about the high quality coaching staff he assembled. His job was rah rah and dish out that loosiana gravel speech. The guy is a great assistant coach and recruiter, but he’s never been head coach material. Coach O would have been better than Helton, but no way was he the answer for SC then or now.Sad to say he will be gone at season‘s end. Downhill started after championship when he lost Brady and Aranda! Unlike Saban he did not have consultants in the waiting!
Fight On!
Well, that's the problem with success - your high-profile assistants get cherry-picked by other HCs and schools that are in a position to pay them more money or make them an OC or DC as opposed to being just a position coach - its what those guys like a Saban does when a Kiffen or Sark gets picked up elsewhere that is the difference between a dynasty like Bama and a program that has a good streak for a number of years and fades away back into mediocrity. This board raved about Coach O during the NC season, but it was always about the high quality coaching staff he assembled. Great assistants make for great coaches. Hell, even King Pete fell off his last couple of years when the top guys moved on and he back-filled with some pretty mediocre people.
If USC wants to be at the top they have to be able to replace staff and build a consistent program and work ethic. Regardless of the individual. That means getting a HC that has a deep enough background to call up almost anyone and get them on the staff and be 5 times if not 10 times better. Or not bad enough to screw up the system of success. And can't lack in recruiting or development.Well, that's the problem with success - your high-profile assistants get cherry-picked by other HCs and schools that are in a position to pay them more money or make them an OC or DC as opposed to being just a position coach - its what those guys like a Saban does when a Kiffen or Sark gets picked up elsewhere that is the difference between a dynasty like Bama and a program that has a good streak for a number of years and fades away back into mediocrity.
He won't survive I think we can all agree on that. Unless something magical happens. He had a dream staff that 19 season.
The truth is he's a 8 win a season HC.
That's with some of the best talent in the nation.
He might survive this season...... But by the end of 2022, my guess is he's gone.
Callback on Major toor’s post. Dude can’t spell. Not sure what you mean but how I'm interpreting it is pretty funny.
Who else here wants kick Petros in the balls several times?
Any SEC team gets into the BCS game with that 1 loss…Pete’s last couple of years—- he fell off???
2008 was the best team arguably he ever had, second to 2004.
if it had not been for that Corvallis loss, we would have obliterated anyone for another Natty.
2009 Pete had to start a Freshman Barkeley bc Sanchez left for the nfl. Pete left 2010 which was Kiffin’s first year.
You think it's Barkley being a freshman the reason Harbaugh put up 55 points on PC at the Coliseum?Pete’s last couple of years—- he fell off???
