Let's put this to rest 100% Cole ain't interested in UK. UL was one of 4 schools on his list he wanted. When he got the offer he jumped on it. Since then 2 of the others have offered and he hasn't even mentioned them offering on Twitter. He is 100% happy and satisfied with Louosville. Ready to win a national championship at Louisville
:football::football::joy::scream::scream::smiley::smiley::scream::joy::joy::joy:good luck to him:sunglasses:...national championship?[roll]

Well if he really is his dad, that really backfired. Probably the most foot in mouth post I have read on this board. I have posted some stupid ****, but damn that was really 1 in a million chances of that happening to you, or anyone.

The Bentleys are not even from Kentucky. West Virginia just doesn't have schools, so he has to play for Belfry. Let it go. #NotAKentuckian

Yes we are Coles parents. Our boys have been at Belfry since 06. Been on cats pause from the first time someone said Coles name was getting mentioned on here. Just wanted to see what was being said at the time. Was told a couple of days ago people was saying he was going to flip to UK, just wanted to let it be known ain't no way. We appreciate coach Schlarman and believe he is a good Oline coach. But we feel the Louisville system is best for Cole and believe Coach K at Louisville can get him to the next level.

Didn't feel the need to ever post on here before, I ain't a UK fan but was willing to support my son at whichever school he picked.

So, you took a screen name the day before Cole announced even though he did not have an offer from the Cats and everyone was positive he was picking UL? Why?

One more thing. There are plenty of kids who decided to play at UK and those are the kids I'll support. I don't have anything against a kid for going somewhere else but what they do is completely irrelevant to me so updates about them and why they choose somewhere else is information I couldn't care any less about. Move along.

Pardon Trav55, were not all ********. I would say that a thread titled "Cole Bentley?" might be of interest to who? Oh, I dont know... Say the father of Cole Bentley that hears there are internet rumors swirling. Id also say that the OP got a clear and concise answer to his comment from the source itself. Outside of the go cards comment which I can understand given the level of jackassery he encountered Id say everyone came out a winner here. Granted he didnt give the answer many were hoping for but no need to kill the messenger. Best of luck to his son. Probably better if we all leave well enough alone.

Slugger most folks dont. I had a lot of kids that got recruited to lower level schools in my AAU hoops days and most parents wanted their kid to go to a place that will better them athletically while getting an education. Many of their view on morals were akin to mine and I teach those at home. I dont want my son taught the morals of others. When he flew the coop he had the moral compass he needed, those around him didnt matter. Thats the way a lot of my parents viewed things too. Now they arent sending their kid to play for a serial killer etc but an affair? A coach who likes booze? Things like that arent an issue for all but the most religious from what I saw. That was the laughable part of those claiming they didnt want BP because of recruiting. They forget that by next weekend no one remembers that doesnt have a reason to remember (rival fans, the offended party etc).

His transgressions weren't all about having an affair. The fact that he was riding his motorcycle with his side chick on the back and got his rear kicked by her husband don't matter as much either. (And yes, the guy kicked his tail. It was not a motorcycle accident. Normally the other person with you would have some sort of injury as well and the motorcycle would have some damage. Neither did)

But anyway, it's the fact that he signed over a decade of contracts in one year, but to 3 different teams. (Louisville extension, Atlanta and Arkansas). So what's the point of a contract? It's the fact that he secretly met with auburn and LSU while at Louisville. It's the fact that he hired his side chick (who's husband worked in the athletic department) to a position at a public university which received state funds without interviewing other candidates. That's illegal, much less, immoral. He also gave her cash that was from the school. Also illegal.

So, the "affair" and some "booze" are only 2 pieces to a much larger puzzle. I don't find that laughable at all. If you do, fine. I'm not judging you either, but don't act like people that were against hiring him were idiots or on some pedestal either. I don't think the people being against those things I mentioned had their nose in the air. Most people would have a problem with that if they were the one doing the hiring at any job of a candidate with that history.

I think he was saying it backfired on the person that doubted you were bentley's father. Go cats.

I am glad someone can comprehend. Guess ole Cole's dad is a little on the defensive side, even when someone was posting for him. I quoted the guy who stuck his foot in his mouth, not Cole's dad, which by the way Cole's Dad would have been a lot better screen name.

I dont think anyone is an idiot for not wanting him. I wanted him but thats one mans opinion. I was just adding in tendencies I saw in folks over my years of coaching. I also believe he took a tail whoopin and Im pretty sure it was called for.

That said you listed all of his wrongdoings. What are the chances he screws up again? IMO this is his last stop and had he signed here we would have been his last stop. From what I can gather his main goal as agreed upon with his family was to coach as close t Louisville as possible, possibly at Louisville if the chips fell and they did.

I just think were holding ourselves to a set of standards that our current opponents are not. Weve been in a street fight for as long as I can remember in the SEC and were showing up with sticks and stones while they have 17 in the clip.

Just the opinion of someone who wants a legitimate winner before I die. I know youre in the same boat, were likely close in age. I also seem to remember you sating you were ok if he was hired so you get what Im saying. We missed a chance to land a stud coach (between the lines) and to block out opposition from signing him. Double whammy.

Meanwhile Otis rolls on and the players and parents don't care.

Yeah, I get it too man. It's a tough spot to be in. At the time I was of the mindset if they wanted to hire him, the fine, I'd be ok with it. But if not, I understand why they wouldn't so I wouldn't be mad later on when he was tearing it up at another program as he is now at Louisville. So I don't get frustrated that we didn't hire him now when I look back at the chance. There weren't many other options for him either so we weren't the only ones who didn't offer him. Regardless, if stoops continues improving this team and can get over the hump turning this program into an sec contender, none of it will matter.
