Quick was hit out of bounds ............... it wouldnt of mattered where the marker was... that was where Quick was going no matter what..... he had already made the decsion he was going to try and burst around the defender on the outside and by that time his fate was sealed....

Wasn't there a 5 yard penalty on UL just before that play? I think he failed to account for that based on his reaction.

Think there was a frame by frame still picture of a hold that took place on hikutini on the 3rd down pass play on one of their boards. Cards haven't lost a game without being cheated in football or basketball in the last 3-4 years, perhaps longer. I'm sure the same applies to their baseball team but no one really cares about that.

Other Athletics Directors vote for Mitch because he sucks as an AD and they know it will be harder to get rid of him if he racks up awards. Other schools in the SEC love having him around because he spends all his time on the 'olympic sports' and constantly screws up football hires.

Just pointing out a fact. No commentary. Thought you guys would appreciate the enlightenment.
Many Barnhart fans have allowed us all to know that. I noticed it's never brought up who he was recognized with. If people like Mitch that's fine. Not everything about him is bad by any means.

It's cool. We're all aware of the award because it's been thrown in our faces to counter what we witness with our eyes.
For the record, I've said MB has proved himself incapable of fixing football (had several bites at the apple, no progress), it's time for him to leave and give someone else a shot, and if he stays I'm not sure how much sense it makes to get rid of Stoops as I have no faith Barnhart can identify and get the right guy to replace him.

Having said that, basketball is in really good shape, the Olympic sports are in really good shape, all the athletes and employees in the athletics office seem to really like him, we've had no scandals under his watch, no NCAA issues, administratively he seems to run things well, and some big time schools keep hiring his assistants (Miss State, Arizona, Oregon, Sryacuse, Florida, etc), which tells me he must be respected.

I know most posters on the football board don't care about any of that.

But, there's a difference between saying,

"I don't care that Barnhart is good about all that other stuff. He sucks regarding football, which is what I do care about."

vs.

"Barnhart is a moron, one of the worst ADs in the country, no other SEC school would keep him. I heard he won't hire anyone who's not an ordained minister. And he had something to do with 9/11."

That's a fair post. Not everything about him is bad by any means. You give solid points about him. His handling with the football program wouldn't work for the majority of SEC schools though.

Just looked it up - he's 57. Older than I thought, but probably still to young to retire. If Wikipedia is right his contract runs through 2019 - when he'll be 60, and you have to wonder if he's eyeballing that as his retirement age. Which doesn't help us regarding Stoops and his successor.

Barnhart knows both who butters his bread and who gives him the bread in the first place. He is safe for a reason.

When they lose a game like the 2014 Sweet 16 its a conspiracy that the "$EC and ESPN and that powers that be want to hold back a virtuous program like UofL and that WWW and NIKE need Cal in the Final 4 for money and the refs know it"

But...they ignore that the 2013 Final 4 game against Wichita was terribly called...and remember that "goaltending" against Michigan in the title game?

Calls that benefit them are correct...but anything else is a conspiracy.

We lost, there's still a lot to play for this season.

I am hoping you all win out and beat the Buckeyes in either the first rd or the championship game. You all win out you will get in cause the lose at Clemson does not hurt you that mych. Its better to lose earlier in season against a top team then later in season. You have games Like MichvsOSU, and somone has got to lose there. You have Baylor u defeated but do not think that will continuse cause they have no D.I like Washington but they have to go into Oregon. You have Miami Hurricanes that are coming on but they will have to play FSU and Clemson I believe. There is way to much ball to be played and anyone think the Cards are out of it are out of their minds. ACC might have Clemson and UL in it this year. I am not sold on Bama either. I think their Offense is having issues compared to OSU,CLEM,UL etc... I think If Bama wins it all it will be cause their D gets it done I just dont think their Offense can hang at all with the other 3 I metioned. UL win out you will be in. ACC will be first conference to have 2 teams represent. SEC the west is going to beat up on each other to much, UT schedule is reall really tuff and not sold on them. Just win out and beat buckeyes please!

Almost impossible. UL and Clemson are in the same division of the ACC. If I'm not mistaken (please check), the ACC title game would be played between the winners of each division. if Lou makes the ACC title game, that means Clemson has lost twice - they're out. If Clemson makes it, Louisvlle has the stigma of not even making it to their own title game. You pretty much need Ohio St, Michigan, Washington, Houston, and whoever wins the big 12 to lose two games or more for a realistic chance at both Lou and Clemson going.

Yes there was, I don't know if the marker was down or not but personally I think Quick should have tried for the TD instead of heading for the out of bounds.

There is no plausible explanation for that last play than I am of the belief that Quick thought the four was where the first down was which is as egregious as anything that happened on the play. A down marker never goes back from it's original spot, not due to yardage lost from scrimmage, not after a penalty or anything else. He simply went to the line of scrimmage presnap--despite having been on the field for the previous snaps from scrimmage where the two yard line was the first down spot--believing that the four was where the first down was. His reaction after running out of bounds was that of someone who really believed he coasted across...that was no acting job. That was all on him...I don't care if that marker was put up in the upper deck.

Actually from the pic and video I just seen the marker wasn't on the field. However if not for the 5 yard penalty Quick may have made the TD. It doesn't really matter at the end of the game UofL was on the short end of the score board. Now you want to say UofL choked well my response to the is does Southern Mississippi ring a bell and the choke job U.K. Did during that game ?

It does indeed! But that does little to lessen the sting of that Clemson choke job, no?

Your wring no way ACC can carry 2 into playoff. If they win out Clemson wins out ther teams, drop late in year i can very very very very very very very easily be UL,CLEM,BAMA,OSU!! EASILY SORRY HATERS UL WINS OUT THEY ARE IN. Oh yeah thats funny cause alot of people like Reese Davis and others believe the same.

You will get (should) crickets, if you think someone would argue against that.
So is it two chokes equal a job?
