Thanks for well-wishes, all. Heading to hospital after work for a visit.

Speaking of which: Work work work. Seems users get crazier closer I get to retirement.

Valpo visits Rupp tonight. Go Big Blue!

Happy Friday, y'all.

Good morning from ATX. Thanks for well-wishes, all.

Visited wife at hospital for about 2 hours last night. She's in good spirits. May come home tomorrow. Personally speaking, I'm feeling fine this morning.

Gators visit Commonwealth today. 6:30 pm CT kickoff. Go Big Blue!

Wishing y'all an awesome Saturday.

Good performance by the Cats last night. I'm certainly feeling better about this team -- and about the 'Road Trip' Tuesday -- with Jaland Lowe out there.

Icing on the cake - Kansas lost. I'd love this to be Self's "lost year" like the Covid year was for Calipari. and see Kentucky really bury the Jailhawks in the All-Times win race. Self is starting to show the same symptoms Cal showed when he was clearly finished. I saw a stat that Kansas is something like 16-14 in their last 30 games. Too early to count him or them out, of course.

I suppose the Cats have a football game against the Gators, as Florida plays without a head coach. Depressing either way. Elmer Fudd Stoops gets a couple SEC wins over struggling teams and Barney will feel justified in letting this charade continue. Ah well.

I hope it is a good Saturday for everyone.

Morning D-Leaguers!

46° this morning with 20-30mph winds. Yeah, a bit chilly. Still have to walk the monster as she is chomping at the bit to get out. Bundling up for sure.

Low 50's for a high with 20-30mph winds expected today for our remaining 2 co-ed softball games. Wish they would postpone until later this next weekend as after tomorrow we go back up into the 70's and 80's for highs.

Good games Friday and Saturday for the Cats. Louisville lost to California as well (I picked that one as my stupid underdog pick) and, Arkansas lost to Michigan St. with Kansas losing too. Now, hopefully icing on the cake will be the Bengals (Hey, it could happen). Edited: Well, I guess it could not happen since it is a bye week for them.

You folks enjoy your day and may God Bless and keep you safe and healthy.

Good morning folks.

Warrior, the Bengals on a bye week IS a win for Northern Kentucky sports fans...

Some good games yesterday. While I'm afraid the Cats winning will give Mild Mannered Mitch an excuse to torture us with Stoops again next year, I do like beating the Gators. I was watching that Indiana game hoping for an upset, but you have to hand it to that receiver. That was a remarkable catch to save the game.

Rainy day in the east. Enjoying a second cup of coffee and being lazy. Hope it is a good Sunday for all.

Good morning from NKy. Woke up to 48 degrees and all downhill from there for next 24 hours. Snow on grass tonight, maybe an inch, and waking up to mid-20s Monday & Tuesday. Highs in upper 30s. Then back to 50s for several days. I'm good with the latter. Did my 4 miles walk earlier while the temps are still decent.

Great game by Cats last night. Feeling better about the future. Boley is the real deal & can lead us to 7-5+ the next two seasons. Some really nice sideline passes. Best game I believe. Happy for him & having a KY boy leading us. I think we need to beat (should have to beat) at least one of V/LV for Stoops to keep his job. Given the choices of worse than 6-6 & no Stoops vs. 6-6+ & Stoops, the choice is clear for me. I want to win - always. Enjoy.

Morning D-leaguers!

28° this morning with light winds. High ° for in the low 50's the day. Warming back up tomorrow with low to high 70's expected for the rest of the week.

Won both co-ed softball games yesterday to finish the fall season undefeated and 14-0. One went extra innings as we took the team lightly and found ourselves in a 10-1 hole after 3 innings. We came back in the next 4 keeping them scoreless and tied it up to go extra innings which we won in 9. I went 7-8 with the only out being because I did not run to first out of respect for the opposing pitcher as I hit him in the leg with a line drive up the middle. Not being intentional I decided not to run and concede the out. This coming Sunday will be the city fall league tournament.

You folks enjoy the Monday if you worker bees can and God Bless.

Welp, 26 this a.m. with 1/2" snow on grass - as predicted. Snowing again now to maybe another 1". Could set a record low high today around freezing. Life is good.

And the Cheese stands alone. UK volleyball took down the orange yesterday before a sold out crowd of 6K+. 13-0 in SEC with only A&M close. Two matches to go.

Don't know why/how Memorial is down to that capacity when it was 11K+ back in its glory days. No endzone seats I guess.

Good morning everyone

Brrrr, deer hunted in the snow and wind this morning. I did see one small buck today and 2 on opening day Saturday. Not bad for going up the hill about 100 yards here at the house.

I'm sorry to hear about many of your health issues. I'll keep the D-league in my prayers.

Dang, basketball and football are looking good lately. Let's make it another week and beat Louisville (and East Illinois &Tenn. Tech)

I hope everyone has a great day.

Hmmm, it's been a while since I've been in Memorial.

I had something happen yesterday that really caught me off guard. I mentioned not long ago that had made my first glass panel in years, I didn't sell it at our craft show, so Mrs. M said that she had a place for it here at the house. Yesterday I received a call from a lady wanting to know if I still had the Cross panel, when I told that I did she started bawling, when she finally stop crying, she said that she had been praying that I still had it, she wanted to buy it to give it to her husband as a gift! I really thought that I had priced it where it wouldn't sell, I was wrong! My glass hobby has almost turned into a full time job.

Happy Veteran's Day to all who served. An odd veteran's story: My wife grew up in NYC, and I grew up in rural Campbell County, Kentucky. Years later my son-in-law was an executive at the National World War 1 museum in Kansas City, and through his efforts we learned that both of our grandfathers served in combat in the same division in France during World War 1. A division is very large of course, and I seriously doubt they ever met, but still a coincidence.

First day it felt like winter in the east. Big ballgame tonight. I'm always very nervous, even pessimistic, about the first true road game and certainly wish the Louisville game fell at it's usual time near the end of the year. But whatever happens, this is a good Cats' team that wilget much better by SEC play.

Have a great day day folks.

Good morning and Happy Veterans Day!

I hunted this morning for a few hours while the wind chill was in the teens. Glad I didn't plan to hunt long.

I do believe there is a basketball game tonight. I'm not sure how good we are and I haven't watched Louisville at all. We'll see. lol That's one of my favorite statements....Will C.: We'll Sea (name of my kayak) ...so I say it often. We'll see how this new team handles the Super Bowl or at least their first one.

I hope everyone has a great day.

We got little guard play and free throw shooting is still bad.

I still don't know what to expect out of this team. I know one thing; we stay hurt.
I really like Moreno but I don’t see how he will ever be a great free throw shooter with his current form. Takes the ball back behind his head, and seems to take it back a different distance each time. I hope I am wrong, because I think he can be a terrific player on both ends of the court!

I really like Moreno, but I am not liking his free throw shooting. His form taking the ball behind his head and taking it a different distance each time doesn’t seem to allow him to be consistent. Hope I am wrong about that.

Got a question for you Veterans, over heard a discussion, one guy said that you're not considered a Veteran unless you have seen active duty. Is the guy right or wrong?
I didn't know either, so I looked it up. It is still kind of confusing. There are ifs, ands, and buts, but generally to qualify for VA benefits, it takes 24 months of continuous service. I guess it also depends on what one is considering a vet. like I said, it can be confusing.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out now is, me being in the National Guard, am I considered a Veteran?

From my limited knowledge, it is confusing. I think the National Guard is part of the ifs, ands and buts. Under the right conditions, I think there is a yes in there somewhere, but I don't know enough about it. Also what standard is one using? Is the Veterans Administration standard for benefits the only standard? Maybe Warrior can straighten us out.
