Missed game last night. Guess I missed a disaster.

Happy Hump Day, y'all.

Not nice today in NKy. Cloudy & high around 50. Ton of rain yesterday.

Good friend passed away Monday night. He'd had autoimmune disorders for decades. Surprised he made it this long. He did maintain good cheer thru it all. Skied out West with him several times and got together with him a couple times a year, even this summer. But it is the season.

Headed to see FCC vs. Inter Miami with Messi on Sunday. Much better viewing than Bungals.

"We won't fail this season. We just have failed up till today. And we will build an organization where we won't be disrupted every time someone steps in and steps out. We'll have a team identity, not an individual identity. Until we get there, we're going to really struggle. That's my job. That's why Mitch (Barnhart) brought me here. I'm doing it poorly. I won't do it poorly for much longer.”

Hey folks. Catching up after a busy couple days.

I have some advice for the D-League: Don't let someone smash into you and total your vehicle.

A partial list of my headaches yet to resolve: 1. Getting a clear title on a vehicle I paid off seven years ago, but for which the state of Maryland never sent me a clean title. So it still shows I have a lien with the bank, even though that hasn't been true since 2018. 2. Getting my plates and registration back to the DMV, because Maryland has a $250 fine if you cancel your insurance, even on a totaled vehicle, without returning the plates first. 3. Canceling my insurance. 4. Returning the rental car. 5. Buying a new car. 6. Getting it licensed and insured, and so on.

I knew there was a reason that all my life I've driven vehicles until I had to have them towed to the salvage yard. Getting out of one and in to another is a giant pain in the ***.

A very grinding work schedule these days, as I fight off a persistent cold. Hope all is well for you folks.

Happy Friday. Just spent a fruitless hour at the DMV trying to clear up all the paperwork required so the insurance company can take possession of my totaled car and I can get my money. It is unbelievable the amount of process we've created for ourselves. I can't remember things being this complicated when I was younger. Of course, Maryland is a typical big government state so that is part of it. Bureaucracy's main job is to protect itself and create new layers of bureaucracy, so I guess it'll keep getting worse or collapse completely.

Gloomy day in the east, and that matches my mood as I deal with the last stages of a cold and try to stay on top of work. A busy weekend ahead, including some work and car shopping. But I also have plans for a dinner at oiur favorite steakhouse. Hope it is a good one for all of you.

Had recently tried to get the title for my 2005 Kia, same problem. Kia sent a letter when we ask about it saying they no longer had it in their system (after 10 years or so they get rid of older records) and could not confirm it had been paid for but stated they no longer had a lien or anything with it. Still can't seem to get it straight so, looking for a new truck anyway (used within a couple of years). Looking at Ford Rangers. Wife resigning and taking on another lesser paying job makes it hard to pull the trigger on a new or larger vehicle (F150). Will take the hoopty (Kia) to the salvage yard once a new vehicle is purchase.

Just got back from closing on the sale of two of our four duplexes. Will sell remaining two in January. Finishing this will be a load off this old back.

Friend's funeral conflicts with the FCC game Sunday. Friend would understand why I didn't come. Edit1010p: 2nd sentence is a joke.

Wishing y'all a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning folks. Happy Sunday. Walking out the door to go to church here in a minute.

Depressing day of football yesterday. That Vanderbilt has so completely outclassed Kentucky as a program - three straight wins -- is embarrasing even by the low standards of UK football.

I actually suspect Kentucky will beat Louisville next week -- the Cards have been utterly decimated and are not competitive right now against decent teams. That'll be a classic Stoops season: Beat three Cupcakes, two SEC teams with just fired or about to be fired coaches, and beat a compromised Louisville. Get blown out in all six games against good competition. Go to a nothing Bowl and declare the season a big success. THere's something sickening about that.

Anyway, hope you all have a great day.

Good morning folks. Glad to hear that Austin.

So, I finally got everything cleared through the insurance company in reference to having my car totaled exactly one month ago. I'm in a new vehicle I'm happy with, nothing fancy but I think it'll work out well for my frequent drives to Kentucky. And the $12,500 payment I'm owed is supposed to drop in my checking account today. All the wrestling with DMV, car dealers, multiple insurance companies and so on will be just a fast-fading memory, and I come out of it with a vehicle I like that should last me until I'm 90 or another jackass rear-ends me, whichever comes first.

Cloudy and cool in the east. Very busy day, but then I can be truly off until at least Friday morning. Planning to watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles tonight - a pre-Thanksgiving tradition. In the "sounds too weird to be true" category, my wife has a first cousin who briefly lived in Hollywood and tried to get a career going. Nothing came of it, but he did marry a woman who had a bit part -- she utters one frustrated line at the airport - in that movie. Ah, Show Biz!

Have a great day folks.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 56°F. Warming into the 60s later.

Last workday for a while. Pack up tomorrow and Friday. Fly out Monday.

@MdWIldcat55 : thanks. Went well.

@Ben101er : great seeing you again.

Wishing y'all another good one this Thanksgiving Eve.
I have been around. Missed you, Bert, Md, Cord and all the rest of the DLeague. Thought I would come over and soak in some of the wisdom you guys post. Getting a little too intense on HOB for me. Almost as bad as Rafters. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Be safe if you’re traveling and enjoy time with your loved ones.

Starting to see a pattern in UK basketball this year. It seems (could be wrong) that this team is slow to start which against good teams will be this teams undoing unless they can correct it. Once they get down, they have a problem catching up when playing tougher teams. With UNC coming to Rupp on Tuesday night we will see. The first 7 games has us easily beating lesser teams but struggling (badly) with stronger opponents. I believe Tuesday night will be the tale of the tape for me.

Third times a charm?

Happy Thanksgiving folks!

it will be a modest one for us — one daughter and her boyfriend, four to six of my wife’s family. One daughter hosting her family in Kansas City and my son joining friends in Austin.

I miss the days of our massive gatherings at my parents’ Kentucky home —30 or so of us from our immediate family. It was always the greatest day of the year.

Itll still be a fun day. I’m looking forward to watching Joe Burrow for the quarter or so until he’s injured again.

Cats - more of the same. Sluggish defense, poor shooting and modest energy before overwhelming a very poor team. Won’t work against equal or greater talent.

Have a great day folks.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

It will be a mixed day for me today. I'll be going to my parents (3.5 hr drive) with a big crowd (I'm the oldest of 8). We expect about 45 there. However, my wife will stay home. She still can't eat most foods and has reactions to many fumes. I'll go early to my parents and try to rush back to be with her this evening. She is seeing some improvements but doesn't want to risk anything with acupuncture needles in right now.

The team got off to a slow start but pay attention to when we made our run. The lineup of Moreno surrounded by 4 shooters Chandler, Johnson, Kam (just a matter of time) Williams, and Noah made a 14-1 run and looked great. In the second half substitute Johnson with Aberdeen and we went on a 10-0 run. I love how Moreno has played all year. But, here comes N. Carolina and their 4 corner offense....dang that Coach Smith. lol I may harbor some Ill feelings from almost 50 years ago.

Enjoy your day everyone!
