Good morning folks. Happy Thursday. Cool and clear in the east.

Glad the shutdown is over. I wouldn't really care -- in fact it made getting around in DC, a government town for sure, a lot easier. But my son can go back to the work he enjoys in Texas, helping build and maintain fisheries, and park facilities.

Busy day for me. Hope things are going as well as can be expected for everyone.

Good morning folks. Happy Friday.

Big day at my work today, potentially. They are supposed to name the person who'd be my ultimate boss. We've done without anyone in that job for six months, and things have gone better and smoother than ever. Everyone on our team at my level is very experienced, and to be honest, talented and energetic. A boss COULD make things somewhat better but could also make things more complicated and aggravating. I'm at a good place to retire if that happens, so eagerly awaiting the announcement.

Cats play tonight. To be honest, the poor performance at Louisville, and especially the injury to Lowe has me frustrated with Kentucky sports -- following the UK football debacle, the Reds' meek playoff bow-out and the Bengal's collapse following yet another Burrow injury, I'm feeling like putting sports aside for awhile at least, if not forever. You can reach an age when it's just a habit without much enthusiasm behind it, and I think I'm there.

IT's a sunny Friday in the east. and looking forward to a great weekend. I hope you all have one too.

Having similar thoughts about this with sports. Not as excited as I used to be.

As far as bosses go, my wife is on the verge of quitting her job for another less stressful one and will lose about 45K a year with the change. She has been with the new contractor for a little over 3 months now and it has gotten worse with the workload. When they took over, they cut her section from 17 workers to 10 and she and others have had to pick up the slack. 2 people have quit already and have not been replaced yet. Her new boss told her he wanted 60-80 hour work weeks from his managers who are salaried workers so, no overtime.

She has been in contact with another contractor who wants her to work for them but cannot as yet pay her what she is getting with the current one but told her a position will be opening in the next 6-8 months that would increase her pay with them to help compensate and she would be the one to fill it so... her we go... maybe.

Good morning folks. A busy Saturday ahead for us. I actually have a business meeting with my financial adviser this morning, then a lunch with some friends (more of my wife's, but tolerable) then I have to go car shopping and then a dinner party I'd get out of if I could, but probably can't.

Car shopping because they totaled out my vehicle from that crash on the interstate. I thought I'd get more out of it than I am, but that's fine. I'm not a car guy; I just need something with room, and reliable for my frequent drives from the east coast to Kentucky and so on.

Not overly excited about a cupcake football game in mid-November. Seems like a waste of a weekend, honestly. I get it in early September to get a team rounded into playing form, but I guess every program does it.

I hope you all have a good day.

You know what Redd Fox said about bosses. Spelled backwards, that is double sob and that is 2 of them.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 69°F. Shorts weather again today.

Sooners = hard core. Won 2 road games at college football's most hostile venues. Wow. Horns out of playoff picture. Let's see if our Cats can qualify for a bowl game.

Grocery shopping here in a few. Wishing y'all another peaceful Sunday..

Good morning folks. Sunny, warming and very windy in the east.

Lunch coming up with some of my wife's family. The rare moment when I am not expected to pick up the check.

Bengals - Steelers rematch coming up. My interest is not exactly through the roof, but always good to beat the Steelers.

Hope it is a good day for all of you.

56° this morning with moderate winds. Warming up to the mid 70's for the afternoon.

Still a bit under the weather but will being getting to the ballpark at around 2:30pm for our first game (3:00pm) of the end of fall league season tournament. Tournament starts at 1:00pm but we got a first round bye because we finished the season in first place with a 14-0 record. 20° warmer this weekend than last weekend which also had 20-30mph winds. Moderate winds today (about 10mph) so it should be comfortable comparatively.

Good wins for the Wildcats last couple of days and a UL loss completed the college Tri-fecta. A Bengals win over the Steelers today would just be icing on the cake. No chance imo for the Bengals to make the playoffs so, divisional victories are the mark this year for me.

That's all folks so, relax and enjoy your day.

God Bless.

With all your dogs, I was thinking about you after I read an article yesterday. This guy in Penn laid a loaded shotgun on his bed. One of his dogs jumped on the bed and somehow discharged the weapon, hitting the guy in the back. He lived but will need multiple surgeries.

Good evening D, we took a weekend trip to Kokomo, Indiana to tour the glass factory, it was very interesting, the amount of Stained-glass there is just mind blowing! One thing that caught my attention was their gas bill each month, $32,000 a month!!!! We had a good time. We tried to find a place to eat and ever where we tried had a long waiting list. We decided to go to a place close to the hotel called Jaggers, I'm telling you, that was absolutely the best burger joint that I have ever eat at!! My burger was the best I've ever had, my wife got a salad, she said it reminded her of Texas Road House! The entire staff, from the young lady that took our order, to the young man that brought our food out, the food was on our table before we got settled! Best experience I've ever had in a fast food joint!!! The Jaggers we ate at was in Columbus, Indiana. I spoke with the manager and told them how great an experience it was, she said they have restaurants in Lexington and Louisville, if you have a chance to go to one, do it, you won't regret it. Oh, and the reason the salad reminded her of TRH, is because TRH owns Jaggers!!!!

I have a customer and friend from Huntington (about an hour northeast of Kokomo) that I have known for forty plus years. I meet him in Evansville about once a month with shades. He travels all of Indiana, Ohio, Illinois And parts of Wisconsin and Ky with a sales route. He is 74 and still plays basketball and coaches ameteur teams. He has a lit full court outdoor basketball court behind his shop.

Most of my weapons are loaded but none are chambered. I will never chamber unless needed. Does not take a second to chamber/rack. Dogs will give me enough warning to have the time.

54 and sunny here in Louisville. Sun always shines brighter here when the Cats double-dip wins in basketball and football + a volleyball sweep.

Cherry on top of that double-dip sundae is the Cards choking away a football win against Clemson.

Off to play golf and embarrass myself today. Have a great one guys!!

Good morning folks. Another work week. It's cold and clear in the east. I'm fighting a mild cold which has sapped my energy so I'm just trying to hang in, get done what has to be done, and get some rest. Survive and advance. Hope al is well for you all.
Same with the cold. Definitely zaps the energy. Started about three days ago and I still have it. Have not been sick in years. took its toll on me yesterday as I went 0-3 in our only loss of the fall season coming in the end of season tourney. None of our team hit well. Although 5 errors in the first inning (3 in a row at third) put us in a hole we could not climb out of. Oh well, 14-1 was still a good run for the fall season.

While I was living in England I would wander the country side. I would also roam around Ely Cathedral. They had a stained glass museum on the second floor. Since I lived in the village of Ely I had a membership to the cathedral and also the stained glass museum. I spent many hours there,

Wife dropped her resignation yesterday afternoon before she left the job. Gave them 2 weeks' notice and has already been accepted by the other contractor for a job of lesser pay but a lot less stress too. Don't know reaction from old company yet but will find out tonight I suppose. Contract manager of the other one told her that another lady in his building is retiring in about 8-10 months and she will be given that job which pays better so... whatever it takes.

Stress ( or in this case the lack of it) can be very important.

They let my wife go without the 2 weeks. Sent two managers from other sections to oversee her packing her stuff to ensure she did not take company books, or other items. Said it was company policy that they do with all employees who leave the company.

She is off the rest of this week, but the new company said if they get urinalysis test back and other in processing done quick enough, she can start next week. She was hoping to wait until after Thanksgiving weekend but...
