Did anyone else think of 1992 last night?

That game reminded me so much of the Miss State game from 1992, where we pushed them all over the field all night, but blew a late 15 point lead, trailed 37-36, only to get back into FG range for Pelphrey on the last play - but State blocked the kick. That was a gut wrencher.

I was in the stands and still am amazed how we won, when he kicked it last night, thought it was 5 yards short, and it seemed like it took FOREVER for the ball to get to the goal post. But damn, what a great win!

I too remember that game. That was a wild game. The difference is that UK dominated the game against MSU on saturday night. Outgunned them by 200 yards. The difference was the Johnson fumble return for TD, otherwise a comfortable win.

If you really look at, Kentucky left 10 points on the field in the first qtr and def 7 in the fourth after the fumble.

We should have scored 50+ tonight. Gran has the offense heading in the right direction and the offensive line is just nasty up front now thanks in part to inserting Bunchy Stallings. That guy is a mauler with an attitude.

Doug Pelfrey isn't from Paintsville (John), but Edgewood. BTW, I believe he kicked the previous last end of game winning FG for UK against Cincy in 1991 or so.
