Winner of the big ten gets in . Regretfully this loss will do little more than serve as a wake up call for ohiiiiiiiiiiiiiio 1st. I would rather see up in x infinity then see Columbus worthless nuts get in. Not going to happen Not only will osu win out but they get in the playoff and win it. Makes me nauseous to think about it.

I think you are forgetting FSU is still a ranked in the Top 15. With that said and with Houston taking a second loss, I do feel the Cards will need help to make the playoff. The thing with the playoff is everyone keeps talking about conference champs. However there is no rule saying that a conference champ must be in the playoff. It is the 4 teams that the committee thinks are the best. Either way I still feel the Cards will need help and I guess a New Years Day 6 Bowl isn't a bad 2nd prize.
Florida State could end up being a quality win for UofL or it may not be a big win after all. FSU still has some tough games left on their schedule and may be barely ranked if ranked at all by seasons end. Their comeback win over Ole Miss is looking less impressive by each week. If FSU is UofL's best win what does that say about their schedule? Plenty of teams will have a better resume than that.

The response was started with comparing Texas A&M best win-(Tennessee) with a poster saying Louisville best win was against NC State-(which was false it is currently #13 FSU by 40 points).

As far as other schools resumes you can make a argument that a 1 loss Big XII team would not be better than Louisville...Baylor OOC schedule is a special kind of bad and WVU isn't much better....to go with Oklahoma already having 2 defeats.

They most certainly are not, unless many other things happen. Starting with TWO Clemson losses.

As for Ohio State, I hate them almost as I hate Louisville (well, not really, but I really do hate them), but this loss doesn't mean that much against their playoff hopes. If they lose to Michigan, they're done, but they were probably done if they lose to Michigan, even without tonight's loss. If they beat Michigan, and don't lose another one, and win the Big Ten, they're still golden, and ahead of Louisville. No way in hell the Tards jump a one loss Big Ten champ in Ohio State.

I'm no OSU fan, but they probably should've got a pass interference call at the 5 yard line in their last posession.

Yes Clemson beat Louisville at home after playing a phenomenal first half and having to hold Louisville off down the stretch. If quick doesn't puss out on the final play and snells his way for a first down then Louisville wins. We beat LSU in 2007, does that mean we were better than them?

Clemson should have lost to NC State at home no less and Louisville just drilled them (mercy rule at half if there were one). Louisville drilled FSU whom Clemson still has to play. If Louisville continues to dominate their schedule and Clemson lucks out in wins like the NC State game I'm not so sure that Clemson would get the nod over Louisville. Better chance they would than not but doesn't mean deserved. Hate UofL all you want, doesn't change the fact that with Jackson at QB, they have one of the top teams in college football this year.

Clemson also turned the ball over 5 times. If you're going to act like UL is better than Clemson, you should also note that they had the advantage of a +2 turnover margin.

Turnovers are part of the game. Acting like Clemson is so much better than Louisville doesn't make any sense to me. Louisville would probably beat them by 2-3 TD's if the game was played at Louisville or even on a neutral field. Yes Clemson won the head to head on their home field but Clemson as a whole for the year has looked far less impressive than Louisville has, like it or not!!

It's not a written rule that conference champs get priority, but the comments and practice of the committee make it just as real. So, unless Clemson craps the bed, they'll win the ACC. OSU or Michigan will win the B10. Bama will win the SEC. And Washington the Pac12. So there's your 4.

Let's suppose Louisville continues to roll, raking in big wins and rising in the polls, and Jackson continues to be the Heisman front runner (keeping them foremost in mind). I'm trying to think what might happen to give them a chance, to put pressure on the committee or tempt them to bypass a conference champ and put Louisville in the playoff. Best case I think is if Washington loses a game or better yet two games. What if Bama or Clemson or Michigan/Ohio State loses the conference title game? Hard to see that benefitting UofL.

Still think they only have 2 paths: either Clemson loses twice or Washington loses at least once. But it's still October......

This loss was meaningless to OSU. If they win out they are 100% in the playoff.

Now if they had lost to Wisconsin and then Penn State they'd be out. They didn't.

OSU is showing lil weakness going against equal L.O.S. type teams. OSU has looked pretty against junk teams but the last 2 solid teams they have played the were not so dominant. I can see Michigan giving them fits UP front. They go to Mich st and Maryland on road. Mich st seems down but will be up for that one. Plus Maryland isnt no jagurnaut but they are 5-2. Maryland will be at home and might give buckeyes a game. Alot of ball left! Who thought PSU wouldnt even give Buckeyes a game let alone beat them. Do not think Buckeyes are as good as they have been perceived.

I actually have UL friends that tell me i should want UL in the college football playoff. Why in the world would i want to see that happen? I'm not a fan of UL. I don't watch UL games just to cheer against them, but i'm not going to start cheering for them to get into the playoff this year. It's just funny to me when UL might have a chance at a great season your UL friends will tell you how you should want their team doing well, but if it's Kentucky going for a huge win, the same rule doesn't seem to happen that often. UL has a pretty good football team this year. I don't think they deserve a playoff bid over some of the other schools out there. By the end of the season, who knows? If i have to decide right now, i see a few schools more deserving for that spot. The cards are basically a one man team. I know you can say that if the best player gets hurt from just about any team that their season is over, but the cards are really a one man team and no other team relies on one guy as much as the cards. Nothing any card fan or "Kentucky fan cheering for UL" can say to change my mind about that opinion.

Well if you take JT Barnett off Ohio State, Jake Browning off Washington and DeShaun Watson off Clemson the same would happen...plus Louisville has a very solid defense-(Consensus Top 15 Nationally) especially with those Linebackers and Brown in the middle...

Um, osu lost Barrett two years ago, and a guy named cardale jones won them a title. Which kyle Bolin would NOT do.

Have you been watching? If UofL wins out, they are going to the Playoffs. They have a Heisman and the media is in love with them this year. That Ohio State loss helps them for sure

Yes. U of L wins out and they are in as the excitement factor will play in the minds of the people voting. With only 1 loss, being AT Clemson and they played great that game.....they're in. Clemson had their shot last year. That being said, I hope they lose out !

JT Barnett-(as a Freshman) is not the JT Barnett now...and Cardale Jones is in the NFL...NFL talent sitting on the bench....don't think tOSU Has that type of talent backing him up currently.

And if you take Jake Browning off Washington where would they be at...if not for Jackson he very well could be the Frontrunner currently.

Is this a UK board? I would never know it by reading some of the posts. Screw Louisville, and the horse they rode in on. I hope they lose every game, even though I know that is not going to happen.

Not necessarily. They probably trump any other one loss P5 conference champion (except Bama)- but not an unbeaten conference champion. It's possible- not at all likely, but possible- that the ACC, Pac10, and Big 12 each have an undefeated conference champion. If that happens, and if Alabama wins out or loses one game, Ohio St. is probably out of luck.

Did you think Cardale Jones was NFL talent two years ago, when he was riding the pine behind JT Barrett?

OSU has had top rated recruiting classes every year under Meyer. I'm sure there is some talent behind Barrett, just waiting for an opportunity to shine.

It is going to be hilarious listening to 97.1 The Fan when I get to Columbus in the morning. My god those people are insufferable in that town. I was there three or four years ago in the winter while Ohio State was in the top five or so in basketball, and still every day all they talked about was the football program.

It would be no different if that same scenario occurred in Alabama.
