Love how bipolar our fan base is, 2 weeks ago we were awful and now we’re winning out.

let’s face it, Stoops has made his mark by beating (for the most part) the worst teams in the SEC. We beat 2 of the worst teams in the conference, my guess is we get brought back down to earth by Vandy and UL. Doubt we get blown out, but we struggle with strong QB play and both are bad matchups for us.

Why are they both bad march ups? Thanks

Winning two games most didn’t think they would does not erase the past. A change is best for everyone. I hope we keep winning and he can go out on his own on a high note.
Same. And, I’m fine with losing Boley if they are a package deal. I don’t WANT to lose him. I think he’s gonna be a damn good college QB & lord knows how long we’ve desperately needed one. But, that can’t take precedence over the long term future of the program.

Retaining Stoops only delays the inevitable & ensures that we miss on Sumrall. Not that Sumrall is guaranteed to win big or even get the job. But, we’ve seen Stoops’ ceiling here over 13 years. If he was gonna elevate us to that next tier, it would’ve already happened by now. It’s time to try something else.

He shouldn’t need or deserve 2 freaking decades to find his groove. Make the change now while you can still build on the solid foundation that Stoops built. Keep him & risk regressing back to Joker level rosters & starting over from square 1.

Bc Stoops HAS done a good job taking us from a perennial doormat to a middling SEC program. And, he deserves the credit for it. Our rosters have had the most talent over the last 10 years since the teams of the late 70s. But, it’s painfully obvious that he’s peaked, here.

Both have really good QBs, all the teams UK have beat or even stayed close with have question marks at QB. Vandy has a really good QB and UL has a decent one but also plays a high tempo offense (see Tenn game).
I agree Vandy has a good QB, but it is a QB Kentucky can game plan for. So this game will be competitive. As for Louisville, their QB is not that good and their online is even worse. Now their RB is the real deal.

I think we split Vandy/Louisville, and with the bowl game? Who knows. But this makes the Texas game that much more infuriating.

Aaron Torres - he has if has truly changed! If he has changed - I think we win 8 games! Yes it will require the team playing good games - but the biggest change has to be with Mark Stoops philosophy. I have said it before and I will say it now. A old coach is like an old dog - he can learn new tricks - but he and the trainer - have to want to learn! It takes more time and more patience. I saw some signs of it earlier this year. I think Stoops is finally starting to learn that you will win more games being aggressive and taking chances than by being complacent. I think Coach Stoops is like many of us and it previously served him well - he is and was a control freak. I think he is finally learning to give control of the play calling and trust the calling of the OC! I thought Bush Hamdan was a fraud and total waste as a OC - but now I believe he was working for a control freak who finally said "What the Heck - I have nothing to lose now!

You are reading way to much on beating a Coach who was being shown out the door and a team who's coach was fired 2 weeks ago. Good teams usually dont fire their coaches.

I don’t think it’s our fan base. Most everyone there still would like to see a change. Even if they go 5-7 or 6-6. It’s the style of play and hope of competing almost everyone wants to see change.

Now if you are asking what do people think Barnhart will do? I think he will use the 2 wins and probably a 3rd win against Tennessee Tech to say Stoops deserves another year. I think attendance going forward will tell you if the fans agree!

I guess the outplaying Texas falls into this category also ? Are they trash ? Should have won that game also. IF UK had beat Texas would you be saying the same thing ???? Be honest,,, to yourself because I know the right answer.

Aaron, you answered your own question. Season isn't over. You don't just by the last 2, the first 4, or the middle. You look at a whole season before you make any decisions.

The people that want him gone would want him gone even if we won 10 next year and 13 the following. They will either double down on it, as they have in the past, or claim they called it and "he finally changed," but they will be miserable until he has another down year.

UofL's qb is mediocre at best.

Im not counting saturday as a win, if its a shoot out the cats will lose. Vandy is better than UK period and u6 has a better coach (hes not great but better than porky) and absolutley hates KY and will do anything to beat them. 5 at best ( i had picked 3-9 and was hoping for worse). If he does win out then enjoy porky again next year.

Change must happen but frankly won’t happen unless Stoops decides otherwise and he wants to be remembered as a good coach here. Had we not been embarrassing against South Carolina, beaten Texas and Ole miss. This would have been different.
I think this speaks to Stoops ceiling.

He's a decent/good coach... but his ceiling is low. He still doesn't really understand many things (clock management, etc).

Getting passed up by VANDY is unacceptable.

Not to mention that both of those teams had no HC, pretty much mailed it in, at least after they lost to UGA, Auburn did play better against Vandy after they lost to us. I wouldn't base us as being able to beat Vandy or L'ville because of those two wins. I agree, if they can beat Vandy, then I'll definitely say we're much better and can win out but I just don't think so. I think Vandy will beat us 27-14. We won't be able to stop Pavia, only thing that could stop him would be himself. Right now I'd be more concerned with the next game up, Tennessee Tech, they won't be a pushover

We could get blown out, but I do not see that. I think they will be two good games. I like the match ups.

I think they will be two close games. I like the UL game better.

For the first time in a long time, we haven't tackled athletic qbs and pavia will just keep the chains moving. We'll need a few turnovers to beat vandy, except Pavia just doesn't really turn it over. So i just don't see us beating vandy.

I need to see UK beat a team with a pulse e.g. a team that has a head coach or isn’t about to fire the coach.
Bet you were one of those guys in HS that never got laid because the girls were all "too ugly" for you. This idea that beating SEC teams is somehow diminished because of circumstances that support your narrative is called a logical fallacy. You can make up reasons to diminish anyone's success, but only like/small minded individuals will fall in line with that thinking. UK has only won 4 or more SEC games 6 times this century(5 under Stoops) and has averaged 2.5 SEC wins over that time. Every SEC win for UK is a good win.

Honestly, beating an awful Auburn team is ok, I suppose. Scoring 10 points doesn’t exactly get the pulse racing.

The Florida game, however, was extremely impressive. I’m always going to be fair.

However, I still think it’s too little, too late.

Hire Kliff Kingsbury, and let’s see if we can at least make this fun.

Why? Kliff Kingsbury couldn't win with Patrick ****** Mahomes at Texas Tech.

Texas Tech went 13-16 under Kingsbury with Mahomes.

IF we finish with 8 wins there is no question Stoops will return. Anybody that thinks Barnhart fires an 8-5 coach and pays a 30+ million dollar buy out has been smoking Crack. Not happening. To be honest the only bad loss we have so far is to South Carolina. UT, Ole Miss, Texas, and UGA are better teams than us. The next 3 games define our season. We win em and Stoops has earned another season. Lose 2 or 3 and he goes IMO. 5-7 as opposed to last years 4-8 is not.marked improvement. 6-6 with a bowl win is. I don't think we beat Vandy but we could. Beating UL at thier place is a toss up to me. Obviously we should roll TN Tech.
