Let’s just say a random Illinois college wanted to put together an elite coaching staff made of Illinois high school football coaches from now or the past… Who is you head coach ? Who is your OC? Who is your DC?

Think it all starts and stops w Lynch as your HC. He’s gonna call the offense as well.

Lynch, Boyer, Arand, Reents and (TUCCS favorite coach) Racki should be a great start.

I liked the coaches that would call you every name under the sun and then invite you out to the local watering hole afterwards. Greatest generation indeed.

Why not just take John Thorne and staff they actually proved they could do it at the college level already. North Central had only win 8 games in a year twice in 105 years and he did it 10 times in 13 years. Guys like Tim Lester ( Iowa OC) have gone on from his staff and done really after coaching with him in high school and college.

I’m a big Thorne fan fan but…..They got better when he retired.

They sucked before he got there and guess where Jeff came from, his high school staff. They made the payoffs 8 times in 12 years under him after never doing it once before him. If he would have gone there before being 60 years old he would have been even better.

Again, I’m a huge Thorne fan. But, they definitely got better when he retired.

Spencer has taken things to a level I never thought NCC could get to.
