Great game nontheless. Classic. MA has speed..but a good passing team will give them a challenge...even with the speed their coverage was super suspect against slower athletes.

Tremendous game to watch tonight. MA has tons of weapons - the Smith kid at RB is a stud and Greg Greene played great for MA. Refs missed 3 huge calls during the game. The 1st TD for MA should have never counted. G.Greene caught the ball on a short hop (should have been INC instead of him taking it for a long TD). 3rd MA score came on a 4th down fumble. It sure looked like the ES back was down before the fumble (would have still turned the ball over to MA on downs). In the 3rd qtr ES got away with a major shove in the back against D.Greene that should have been a pass interference and 1st down for MA. Tremendous credit to MA for answering after ES scores to take the lead. Boaz was solid at QB for the Cards and Gosnell did a great job against D.Greene. I’d sure love to see a rematch in about the 3rd round!
What does that have to do with the price of rice in China? I dont even know what you're rambling for, I didnt say anything bad about Mt Airy or East Surry and you start attacking the SMC... touchy much? What I said was Adkins couldn't hold Holder's clipboard and it's the truth, get over it.

Pretty risky to count out a North Stanly team that played a 11-0 3A NW Cabarrus team on the road to a 4 point game and crushed a top 10-12 1A North Rowan team by 35 on the road. North Stanly has just as much talent as Mt Airy and will match up very well athletically with Rhone, Davis, Rush and Clark. Not saying North Stanly beats Mt Airy but to say they can't is just not true.

1 in the secondary hurt the bears , they found him and exposed him , Bears gotta make changes there. East Surry is a top 5 1a team . There will be somebody posting on this post who will see the cardinals roll up in there parking lot in the third round, will be interesting to see how that tune changes. Cause the cards will be all they want and then some. There isn’t anybody in the West they can’t beat. Cards will make a whole lotta noise. As far as take on defenses, two very good football teams on the field tonight , plus a huge rivalry. Hard to base much on that. These kids have played against each other since little league . Greg Greene had a hell of a night on d, smith is a beast in the backfield. This game was all I thought it was gonna be. For all those who are talking , let’s just give it a few weeks , you bring your team to town and see if you can do what you think you can do , beat the Bears in the granite city. Or beat the cards in pilot or if they come to your place , we will see how that goes for yhea
Murphy played very well in that game and were still fortunate to win, Murphy did not play very well in the Mt Airy game and lost. North Stanly and Mt Airy were both very good teams and I would've liked to have seen them play last year. The Holder's (both of them) may have been the difference. This year North has added Rhone, who may be their best player and while I still give Mt Airy the coaching edge against North Stanly I dont think it's as big of a gap now.
NS has no business in this conversation we will deal with your tail in the third round all I'm saying is Mt Airy has decoys in which East keyed on yes good job Gosnell but only problem is he didn't beat them in a sense but he did because he made openings for Greg and Smith

Now if you can keep the “star” DB on one side of the field it frees up his twin brother on the other side. So you pick we’re you put Gosnell.
As far as the score. Go ask East Surry if it matters if they got beat by 3 or 30.
Moral victories are only good for teams with losing records.

Spin it anyway you want. Gosnell shut him down. One on One with no help. Simple as that. I defintely paid attention and that my friend was easy to see. I'm not taking anything away from Donovan..but if you would have told me that Gosnell could stay with him all night..and play the kind of defense he played on him..i wouldn't believe you.
Murphy the only thing I got to say to you is come on down to surry county and play the Bears Friday after Thanks Giving we are probably number one seed we will see how that works out

The only thread of truth in this statement is about cramping. Those of us that don’t have a dog in the fight call it like it really is. Could have cared less who won but all I am seeing are excuses from the majority of the MA posters. What I saw was a touchdown by MA that was a dropped ball, East Surry with two other key turnovers that were not forced and a MA running back that willed his team to victory. Great ball game but can say with all the confidence in the world that this was not a game of excuses as the MA fans are making out. ES is that good and so is MA. If they played 10 times it would be just like that with either team taking the win. Now Buzz, that is fact! Good luck to both squads in the playoffs.
Locking Greene down , opened that running game up , East is a top 5 team , Bears didn’t have the Greene brothers and smith on the field at same for most of third and half of 4th. No offense but the way the cards came out of the locker room after the half warming up verses how the bears did leads to that. Bears barely warmed up at all out of the locker room , lesson learned. Those couple short passes to Greene were the difference in game winning drive , it opened up the runs by smith. Bears are very balanced, the threat of Greene opens a lot of things up. Refs sucked for both sides. Nobody in the west want to see either of these northwest 1a heavyweights. I like Compton in the box calling the plays to holder to signal in, seems he is better up there and sees the defense better, the bears run a lot smoother when it’s that way in my opinion. Great teams find ways to win, the bears were not gonna be denied. Deff have rivalry games should be
Last year's Murphy team was too finesse, too individualistic and had two serious weak links on the defense (that are no longer around), they deservedly lost to Mt Airy. KJ would have helped some but not enough to over come any of that or #1 playing his worst game of the season. This year's Murphy team is way more physical and is much better upfront and defensively (when healthy) than last year's team.
Hopefully we see that Murphy team in the granite city late November mbdfan, should be a fun one
I hope so too gdawg, got some injuries to heal up first, hopefully they'll be good to go for the latter rounds of the playoffs. Mt Airy's passing game will be tough for anyone this year.

I just can't get over all the excuses from the Mt.Airy posters. That ish is crazy. Defintely saw it against Starmount as well. It seems if they aren't blowing people out..then there's a trillion excuses as to why they didn't. That's just ridiculous. This late in the season everybody is hurt and banged up. Not just one team.
Didn’t take to long for ole jock rider print dawg to show up, tell me the excuses chump and I will legitimately address them all, but with that said fat boy , you were where I said you would be all year, you were in the granite city watching the bears play yet again championship football and east Surry is every bit as good as I said they was all year long , ain’t nobody in the west want any of the cards or bears this playoff season, if the bracket works out it will go down like I said it would, East @ Ma for a regional championship, now how special would that be , two northwest heavyweights playing a rival game for a regional title
