Well, that about does it for me. Never thought Beamer was a wise choice but if he is successful then Gamecock football succeeds and in that case glad to be wrong. But as many have mentioned in various ways on several occasions, he’s just not a head coach. He’s immature and petty, can’t lead a program like that. If you read that article you know the exact tone and cadence he’s using when making the reference to the use of PFF. He’s done this on plenty of occasions now. And he’s correct, there’s things PFF doesn’t know but that doesn’t mean they are inaccurate, they are accurate last time I checked their assessment of SC’s OL. But none of that was even relevant. He couldn’t just simply own the fact that it was best to move on and not even go into all that.

And when we think about the whole situation; was it really the case that most of us who are fans for free knew there needed to be a change before the millionaire coach? That’s asinine. There is no way that can be true right? But Teaseley got a raise after last season. So it must be true. So why is that true? Is Beamer that stubborn or that stupid or yes?

Kind of odd. He says the OL didn't play that poorly, yet evaluating the tape from the game led him to fire the OL coach.

What caught my eye was this line:

"Even last night, people wanted to beat up the offensive line last night. We protected well"

5 sacks, Shane. FIVE!!! We most certainly did not "protect well" - At any rate, better late than never but would've been much better after or before the bowl game last year.

It’s not that people want to beat up the OL, it’s just observation. Got no ill will towards Teaseley or the players. Really hate it for his family, because this likely means they move and that’s a headache on several levels. But it clearly wasn’t working. If anything Beamer should beat himself up for allowing the situation to fester.

What nobody talks about is how many sacks we would have if LaNorris wasn't so good at breaking tackles. He had at least two on Saturday night that would have been sacks, so 5 becomes 7.

There was nothing wrong with what he said in the press conference. He needed to make a move, he did, that’s what everyone’s been griping about, so now let’s see what happens and if we get better.

Two things the average fan doesnt know, and even I don’t know for sure because every scheme is different, but, often times the QB sets the protection and, RBs blocking have been an issue for a while. So he could be saying “we protected pretty well” in defense of the linemen who did. It could be a QB not setting the protection correctly or a Rb not stepping up. Idk, it seems an odd thing to say having watched us give up tons of sacks and tons of pressure. But, everyone was pissed and ripping the play call and OL after the sack at the 1yd line at Missouri, watch the replay, the cowardly back laid down at the DE’s feet. Just an example

“First of all, Lonnie is a fantastic coach.”
“ in Lonnie’s defense, I mean, we’ve had tons of injuries on the offensive line this year.”

Beamer is talking out both sides of his mouth. If he was that good you should have kept him. Sometimes it’s best to say nothing

Don't need stats to see how bad they are on the field. This needed to happen after last year.

The best part of this article was the inference that Donati encouraged Beamer to make the personnel move -- I have zero doubt Beamer would have done nothing if not for Donati. So that's encouraging to me.

Sacrificial fire. This buys him another year or so. We've seen it so many times before with all teams. However the performance of the OL regardless of injuries has been abysmal. I hate to keep harping on the center but he looks for double teams too much and allows a DL in front of him to go untouched.
