What happened with him? Did he not get along with Caleb, Mathis, etc.? That was a weird time in RU basketball history. Crazy what has happened to Georgetown since.

Hate to be the turd in the punch bowk, but I cannot fathom how this guy won the slam dunk contest while not playing a single NBA game this year. He has played a total of 2 NBA games in his career.

How pathetic. A bunch of NBA players with their stupid smart phones out filming the dunk contest to put on snapchat or whatever, instead of living in the moment. They look like a bunch of teenage girls.

Georgetown and TT fans might care, but this RU fan can only say nice for him but his accomplishments or failures have more to do with the schools I mentioned than
any Rutgers connection.
As for how he would have fit at RU if he stayed committed, no one can say.
He didn't stay at Georgetown (2 years) he might not have been happy at RU and
found a new home.
He lasted one year at TT before entering portal and declaring for draft after one season
Stayed in draft. went undrafted and signed as a free agent .
Mainly playing in the G-League the last 2 years

Rutgers and Georgetown. Two programs heading in different directions. And at different levels of college basketball .. and not the way you might think

I was watching from Joe's Surf Shack in Belmar. The reactions and respect he was getting from the other players was pretty cool, I thought.

Sneaker technology sure has come a long way since the 70’s.
They should be forced to wear Yeezys.

We ll all find out when his soon to be autobiography is published.

I do remember him however at that midnight madness event and he was very subdued sitting next to Montez and Harper I believe.

Think he reneged on the commitment when he saw Peter Kiss win our slam dunk contest 😂🤔

His scholarship went to Caleb
Given his history since his de-commit seems we got the better of the deal - no way the kid would have stuck around and the made the overall contribution as Caleb

So, yeah, overall a net positive

But still not sure how it’s remotely close to “one of the most important moments in Rutgers basketball history” even in the pike era.

G-Leauge Rookie of the Year last year and now Slam Dunk Champ - nice little resume. Not that it'll help him make an actual NBA roster but nice way to get his name out there.

I recorded the event and haven't watched yet.
Was he really that great though? I've been kind over the dunk contest for many years now. Just hard to amaze at this point.

I still say a "Highest Dunk" contest would be great.

Wonder how high Clif could get.

When Rutgers retires Geo Baker’s number, we should have a dunk contest featuring Mac McClung, Waliyy “Main Event” Dixon, Charles Jones, Dahntay Jones, Sam Sanders, Corey Chandler and Jacob Young.

Then we can have a 3 point contest featuring Mike Rosario, Luis Flores, Calvin Wooten, Eli Carter, Nigel Johnson, Peter Kiss and Montez Mathis.

Lastly, we’ll wrap up with Tim Thomas, Troy Murphy, John Celestand, Lance Thomas and Jay Williams for a lifetime un-achievement awards, during which the alumni section will politely golf-clap appreciation in recognition that we no longer give any craps about them now that we know what makes a true Rutgers Legend.

Saw a clip of a young woman and former social media addict telling Congress (or Senate, I forget) how bad it is.. and all I kept thinking was why pay any attention to what people on social media say? Why destroy social media simply because YOU could not control yourself or what strangers on social media said about you? This woman is still seeking attention from the masses for some reason. As are those NBA players and a whole bunch of Americans.

One of the best things this board ever did was to get rid of those star-ratings. The "likes" are bad enough.
