Well WF didn't do themselves any favors by getting boat raced at home by Vandy. I think GT is now the front runner from the ACC, but I wouldn't rule out UNC. I still can't believe WF went 5-3 in the ACC and UNC was 3-5 (including a 49-24 blow out of WF). Also, I don't think the MCB wants to bring Vandy back especially after losing to UT. So looks like the dogs will be bowling in Nashville against GT unless Stricklin takes the advice from those that think we should decline.

their 73 fans from CUSA.

Scott should write them a letter letting them know that maybe next time we decide to play Memphis State there, they can rethink what it means to be hospitable.

For now they can reap the benefits of being ********.

I don't think we are in a position to start declining.....I think we would be lucky to get an offer period.

Especially since LT isn't in charge and since Santa told our fans to put in their bowl reservations on the jumbotron. That was nice.

At this point it would be a huge surprise if we went anywhere other than Music City. If UGA comes out and upsets LSU, then we get likely get Peach.

a million bucks. No reason to kick a hornets nest like that.

Turning it down is not, nor was it ever, an option.

Why in the hell would we turn down Music City bowl? Who in the hell is dumb enough to try to get Stricklin to decline? If we declined, we end up playing a CUSA team in the Liberty Bowl...... No Thanks.

a bowl invite. That would be like the Detroit Lions declining to play in the playoffs. We need the extra practice time and more so the exposure for our program regardless of the bowl. I realize the Music City Bowlscrewed us in 07' when they took UK over us but that's business.

who in their right mind would suggest we turn down the Music City Bowl presumably to go to Memphis? Nashville > Memphis and LP Stadium >> Liberty Bowl. I will pay and go to the Music City but I have no personal desire to make another trip to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl.

I would sooner take a lesser opponent in the Liberty than have to play the three headed monster that is Georgia Tech. Now if it turns out to be UVag then I amall for Nashtown, but our last two encounters with Tech didn't end well.

We will have plenty of time to prepare for their offense.

I don't put it above the city we are playing in or the stadium we are playing in. Heck, last year was a better bowl than we will be in this year and we won in a blowout and I can't see that it had any great positive impact on our program. We only ended up losing some of our best HS recruits and didn't pick up any additional major interest from other recruits that I can see after the big victory. The main thing is getting the extra 2 to 3 weeks of practice and that happens win or lose. I'm not going to duck an opponent in a better bowl game because we MIGHT have a bigger challenge in trying to win the game.

If someone has a month to get ready- their offense has been less effective. When someone has only a week to get ready- that's when it's an advantage for GT.

We are pretty solid against the run, and the option is part of our offense, so I think it would be a good match-up for us. Our secondary is our weakness on defense. I doubt they will start slinging it around against us.
