Still 14-7 in the middle of the 3rd. Dogs are playing defense like the old days and keeping them in it. Stopped greenies on 4th and inches .. they playing with heart but just have no answer for their defense.
Christ School drive down to dogs 9 yard line, dogs held them. CS lines up for a field goal and high snap..Murphy recovers. Murphy now driving in the 4th quarter with about 8 mins to go
Christ School scores again, 27 to 7 .. 2 and a half mins to go in the game.
I believe Mitchell might be big 1A according to some of their people but depends on how the conference goes. Murphy played their hearts out but Christ school just to many D1 players and talent. Murphy is still fighting to the end though.

Final! Christ School 27 Murphy 7. They played their hearts out but tough to play against all their talent... they said on radio broadcast that 5 have committed to D-1 schools. Murphy played them to a 14-7 game all the way into the 4th quarter and defense got tired. Proud of the Dogs against the best team in WNC according to Citizens Time. Next up, Life Christian Academy ..

You do know, 3 years ago Murphy was big 1A and a team you may know came to the hill in the playoffs and Murphy took them to the woodshed.. some team in Pilot Mountain..Murphy plays where the state puts them and gives a good showing. Pretty sure that about 5 state titles came from when there was no 1A split.. if you are going to talk about the tradition of Murphy and the caliber of opponents they play..compare East Surrys schedule to Murphy’s schedule so far this year. Now east has a once in a generation team now so enjoy this high horse while you can and we will see what they are made of in two weeks at Reidsville, until then I’m not sure you have much trash to talk about Murphy, Mitchell or any team that has consistently been dominate in football instead of just once every ten years.
Murphy playing Christ School is like Appalachian playing Alabama. While Appalachian has been really really good in their own regard recently, they would be no match for Bama. There no doubt that ES is a handful this year. Everyone knows it. Can they bid for the ship in 1aa? I hope so. I would love to see a team contend from the west.

Murphy's defense is state title caliber. They've been good all year and proved it once again tonight against an explosive offense. They held the Greenies to 2 scores until they were just totally gassed midway through the 4th.
Murphy's QB #12 is getting better every week, he did enough to give the Dogs a chance to win but his recievers let him down tonight with two drops on passes that would've been surefire TD's.
'Dogs must have a second back emerge. #28 can't shoulder the whole load against the quality teams on the schedule, it's time for the other two starting backs to step up their games. I can't see this team winning a title without another back taking some of the burden off #28.
Some really inopportune penalities tonight, personal foul penalty in the 1st half and holding call in the 2nd half killed two drives in Christ School territory.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the direction of this team, minus the lack of a legitimate secondary threat in the backfield right now.

So, is this Christ School a super power or something? I've always felt like schools with Christ, Academy, Catholic, or Prep shouldn't be able to compete against or hang with "regular" public schools. So how does the mighty SMC lose against them? What kind of school is it?
They are a private school who recruits the top skill set players from each school in WNC and practically the state. They are the #1 ranked private school in NC according to Simmons. They have college level talent and about 4 to 5 players going to D1 colleges to play football. If you haven’t heard of them by now, google them. They have been one of the top dogs in WNC for the past 5 years now.
