In terms of stars....looking back at Ok St. a few years I see that they have had some 4 star guys every year, I saw no 5 star guys. They have lost all those 5 star guys to the likes of Texas and Oklahoma. Justin Blackmon, a 3 star!!.....But they have risen to number 3, over their big brother from Norman......Now I know that its the Big 12, but when quality recruits are quality recruits. I couldnt help thinking about State going up against Bama, LSU, Auburn..etc every year and losing these high profile recruits. If we can snag a few 4 stars every year, I think we will be fine.....I still think that State is on the rise and I am looking forward to the future...

sometimes you get lucky and one of those guys becomes an All-America. And btw, I fully expect OU to beat Okie Lite

you are missing the forest for the trees. there is a reason that most of the teams regularly in the top 10-15 also consistently rank in the top 20 or so of recruiting. they may not be high every year, but they are usually up there 3 out of every 4 years. sure, there are some like texas and ohio st and florida who are struggling right now, but they are also much closer to turning it around with 1 or 2 key recruits than kentucky or louisville or iowa st. not to mention, struggling for those programs is something like 7-5 with a bowl invite, not a total 3-9 meltdown.

it's never impossible to win with classes of 3*, but you definitely are playing against the odds.

we'll never recruit with the elite programs, but we need to start beating arkansas and ole miss and south carolina type programs on some targets and sneak in and grab a couple of kids from bama/lsu/aub/etc (which i think the 25 signing limit will help, as more guys will filter down to us instead of letting them cut a player to make room for both 4* safeties or whatever).
