Critical game for the Panthers which will define the season. Gametime: 7:30pm
It's one of the games that I was going to keep up with tonight on ScoreStream since Franklin is a future opponent of Mitchell but they don't have the game listed. I replied to an email from them thanking me for a correction on another game about the oversight but they still haven't put up the game.

Not sure of anything about Rabun Gap. They smoked the Greenwood Raptors then got hammered by Providence Day, which probably tells you nothing really. Can probably expect more of the same from other years, some size and talent but half of the kids are from other countries. We should come out of here with a win unless they've created some consistency as a team.

Their coach, Shawn Bryson, is widely regarded as Franklin's GOAT, was a standout at Tennessee and then spent some time as a starting running back and also a third down back with the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. If he played in the system Franklin uses now he would have been all over the state record books, but he was essentially a decoy then.

We play Rabun gap next wk.
This will be the 9th or 10th meeting. So far Robbinsville has won every time. RG has had 2 or 3 really good teams over the decade.

We haven't lost to Rabun Gap until this year. They have all kinds height and speed at WR, and are consistently running 4 wide sets. Not scared at all to throw over the top and QB has great accuracy on his deep ball. They still have too many excessive celebrations penalties and jawing but this is a better put together team than they've had in years past.

Turnovers hurt us pretty bad. We fumbled inside our own 20 once and they converted that to a score. We had the lead midway through the fourth, but gave up a long bomb that put them ahead by three. Our offense isn't built to come from behind late in the game, and a desperation throw by our QB was picked off and set them up in easy position to score again. If we played them again we might win, but then again they might win by more.

Y'all should be able to run it right at them pretty well, but you're gonna give up some homeruns. I'd make the trip over to watch that game if we didn't have Swain over here.

They’ve played them since Bryson has been coaching RG. 3 years I think. 2014 was definitely their best team. State runner up lost to Robbinsville’s state title team by 6 for one of their only 3 losses. And Dale Earnhardt was their QB that year, definitely on the All-Name team

Their QB this year is an Earnhardt. Dale Earnhardt was their coach before Shawn Bryson took over. Might have been a Jr/Sr thing.

I'm glad to see them doing well and playing a bunch of local teams. It's good for us to see the kind of athleticism they bring.

As far as the jawing and personal fouls they bring, it's not atrocious but it definitely hurts them. I just wonder with all of the international students they have how many personal fouls get missed because nobody knows what the hell they're saying.
