Heard from a very reliable source that he was forced out by a group of parents that didn't like his style. He runs a tough, discipline program and doesn't deal with any crap. Was told that a group of parents had a problem with his culture and aren't accustomed to handling successs very well and what it takes to be successful. If he stays local wouldn't be surprised if that running back they have follows him.
Thats wtf is wrong with kids these days. Little Johnny goes home cries to mommy and daddy and they ***** and cry as a group to get a coach ran off. BS imo. These coaches are hard on these boys not only to get them to be a high school graduate and be successful, but to be a man as well. Todays society and cry baby parents are doing nothing but turning young men into cream puffs. If you cant make it through high school and a football program, how you gonna make it in the real world when thats over! They wont!
He had RC heading in the right direction. Tough and Discipline football. Expects you to be in the weight room. To Foard to the playoffs. No messing around. All of these programs that are traditional loosing programs say they want to win...wh wh someone comes in and changes the culture and shows them the blueprint to win, the problems arise.
Administration has again cowed down to parental pressure. I know many kids in the program, down to the middles school as well, "did not like the coach and the practices". The middle school lost all 7 games this year without scoring a point. I don't think that school wants to win consistently at football. The principal played high school football with my nephew at FTF and I can't believe he wouldn't want the football program to go in the direction their coach had it going.
It’d take someone like Tom Knotts to work with them to get so much as a 3 or 4 win season.
One of the dumbest moves I've seen in a good while. He's a solid coach who would do good things with a program with the right demographics. He did awesome at Princeton and did good at Foard. Granted his offense isn't for everyone but he produced which is something that school can't say very much.

Good guy. Should have Foard to we’re they ought to be. There’s talent floating around the school I’m sure. Not saying they will beat Hibriten now lol but should be ok tackling the rest of the conference. Hibriten won’t be what they were but will still run the tables with what they got returning. Them and Foard May have some great battles for the crown in years to come.
Well the crown I was talking about was for the conference. No I can’t see Foard doing big things in playoff time ha ha. With teams like Bunker Hill, West Iredell, East Burke and Draughn I cant see them finishing below 2nd in this conference very much. I could be wrong but I don’t see it. And being that Hibriten lost a lot of graduation I figured the Foard Hibriten games now would be alittle more reasonable with Hibriten of course favored.
Nobody will be doing anything big in playoffs around here as long as South Point and Shelby are around. Hibritens shot at a repeat was probably this passed season alone unless Lewis has more ‘go get er’s’ up his sleeve.
That conference is Hibriten, the Hibriten JV, Hibriten middle school, then everyone else. I do not understand the logic in Foard letting Minor walk.
Hope everyone remembers in 2016 Hibriten lost around 20 seniors and had a pretty good year the next. Not saying this year they’ll win States but don’t sleep on them they will make a deep run! Plenty of talent coming....
Remember the old days Foard used to have their way with Hibriten. Of course a lot of teams did so that’s not saying much lol. Foard is kinda like East Burke in a lot of ways. Same kinda athletic base. Be really good one year and big droughts for 3 to 5 years afterwards...or more.
Hibriten has been competitive since 2002. A few mediocre years here and there but they've made the playoffs every year since then.

I was speaking of the 90s and the 2000 year. The whole Y2K was a big scare back then ha ha. EB in 2000 had kinda lower than avg season that year and they still took it to Hibriten by 3 scores or more. Same in 98’. Not sure what they done in 99’ But yeah the 90s many people just came to the games to hang out. A dry spell from what I understand.
Everybody has dry spells (trust me I know) but Hibritens JV could easily win this conference. Next realignment I'd like to see them thrown into our conference if they stay 2A
From the geographics that’d just be wishful thinking. They’d be crossing over another 2A conference driving wise to get to y’all. I’m wanting North Lincoln to join up with NW4a/3A if they jump to 3A and it’s practical but since a bunch of Iredell teams are closer they’ll just stick with that area most likely.
I guess it couid happen. We’ll take West Caldwell, y’all take Hibriten ha ha.
They stuck WC in our conference a couple years ago so it isn't entirely unreasonable. It would be about the same drive to get to Hibriten as it would to Lake Norman Charter, which I wish they'd stop putting them in our conference
That would be nice if they did get LNC out. But then again it never hurts to have a practice game to iron things out ha ha. It was nice I’m sure when y’all got Highland Tech out of it. They wasn’t bad in basketball I do remember that much.
I’m not sure how much location would play a role when they realign conferences. It’d make sense to have Hibriten in Wilkes co area conference if they wanted to be strong about the location convenience but talk about not having a challenge...as if they have one now if you know what I mean LOL.
Could Hibriten end up being a dynasty like Shelby or South Point? Maybe but it’s hard telling.

Wilkes Central has similar demographics to Hibtiten. I think them and Ashe being in split conference hurts their competivness and growth as a team. I’d love to see the end to split conferences personally.
Looking back I see FTF won twice against Hibriten and have never had their way with the Panthers.
Musta been 2 good games for Foard. Or two games that an old coworker who may have played for Foard back in early 90s and talked about it. Dont think they played much cause nonconfrence games switched up here and there. What’s the overall series as in how many times they played each other all together?

I’m telling ya Lewis needs to get some Charlotte schools up this way for some non conference action even if they lose cause it raises hype and revenue. Butler game was a success, why did he ever stop?? This is about Foard so somehow don’t wanna get off subject...and here I just caught myself doing it ha ha
Hibriten plays Alexander Central, South Caldwell, Hickory and Ashe this year non conference. No purpose in scheduling a 4A power year in year out. The Butler game was just both teams filling a need for that year. Freedom or Watauga would both be good replacements for Ashe.
I would like to see a HIBRITEN,, vs KINGS MOUNTAIN , SHLEBY, or CREST early round game. No need to look all the way to charlotte to find good competition.
I’ve heard we schedule Ashe cause if offense they run... But it doesn’t help a lot when you out-athlete a team easily... Case in point- Shelby’s offensive dominance in regional final
