Meh, I'd be worried if a coach wasn't testy during questioning 20 minutes after a disgusting defeat. I wouldn't expect to get the most level-headed and thoughtful responses at that moment. His answers in the press conference tomorrow would be much more telling, I think.
He’s thin-skinned always. Couple examples:
A mid-week press conference where he brought up a reporter who criticized the Logains hire. Watch that sometime you’ll see the same arrogance without merit mentality. But the key moment is the author said no one else wanted him as OC (I thought that was true). Beamer defends his hire by saying Logains had actually been contacted by another SEC program about being OC. And that did happen but what he conveniently left out was that the other program was Kentucky. Good job Beamer.
Exhibit B. After the 2022 UT win, don’t recall if this was post-game or later in the week but someone asked the reality of a different play caller other than Satterfield. Beamer snaps and goes “that’s the dumbest thing I have ever heard…” Really? Y’all scored 6 points, six! In the last game. The offense looked nothing close to that game not just that season but for the better part of 2 seasons. And this guy is appalled that someone ask what is a rather logical and obvious question.
So we got post game win, mid-week, and post-game loss. He’s wound too tight for this. He’s not an HC. It’s not his offense nor his defense. Last week we got the impression that he doesn’t command the respect of some of the other coaches.
I realized as I was typing this unnecessarily long reply that all of my examples are OC related. So that problem isn’t going away.
