Anyone trade FX? I'm doing some research on it and I'd like to open a demo account after I get a handle on it. I've read reviews of several different brokers and they all seem to complain about slippage. Does anyone have any advice on a good ECN broker? Is it possible to avoid slippage, or is that just a hidden unavoidable cost of trading?

Slippage is inherent in all trading, not just FX trading. If you're concerned about it, some options might be to: (1) only submit limit order trades, or (2) stick to currencies that have a much more active (i.e. liquid) market, such as USD and Euros, where the size of any slippage is negligible as compared to less frequently traded currencies.

I'm only an accountant, not an actual trader, so take my response with a grain of salt.
