Those clowns in Vegas just like giving money away.

Sam (ace) Rothstien is not walking through that door . Some geek in Bangladesh made the Missouri line and bookies all across the globe are hoping they can get that money back on NFL today.

The Missouri line was so stupid that it scared me. Odd for Vegas to miss a line that bad and I couldn't find a reason for it to be that way. Missouri had played bad all year and they didn't have the talent to think anything was going to change. Their offense hadn't put any points up against P5 opponents and their defense was bad.

At least with the Georgia line you have a bunch of 5 stars on the Bulldogs team. Missouri was easy money and I wish I was a betting man.

I guessed UGA -1.

They really are giving UK zero respect. Might be factoring in the 2 point move last week toward Missouri and trying to get out in front.

-2.5 is where the line should have been if we played them yesterday.

I would rather go into this game as an underdog honestly..there are going to be a lot of people starting to pat these guys on the back and we need to stay level-headed because Georgia is still really talented..they looked bad against Florida but that's a really good Florida team with a defense that looks like it should belong to an NFL team..once again this is going to be a line of scrimmage game and we need to continue to control the line of scrimmage, win the time of possession game, and try to avoid the costly turnovers, because a team like Georgia with their stable of running backs and young QB with a big arm is good enough to make you pay for those mistakes

You dont understand how it works. because the line moved larger in missouris favor, rhat means more people were betting missouri. so the bookies made a lot of money actually.

So actually, the line should have opened probably around 7 to get even bets.

Its not about "respect" and it might not even be what they "think" will happen.

Its about figuring out where the spread should be to ensure half the people vote one way, and the other vote the other way.

Just off name alone, if kentucky was favored you would see huge bets coming in for uga.

Then why do I keep losing my money to them? It may be that more money was put on Mizzou, at least nationally not just in Ky, believe me they don't like to give their money away.

Vegas actually MAKES money when the team that most of the money was placed on doesn't cover. So actually, UK has MADE Vegas money this season.

When we played Bama, 95% of the money bet on that game went for the Tide, meaning Vegas won BIG on the Cats when we covered the spread.

All week I said the line for the game was really odd. And, by the time it hit 6 or 6.5 Saturday I was just dumbfounded. Strangest line I've seen in a very long time. But, like you, I wouldn't touch it bc I was convinced that SOMEBODY knew something the general public didn't. In addition to the factors you listed, Mizzou was also ravaged by injuries to key players. They JUST lost at home to MTSU & we were on a roll. And, defying logic, the line kept growing. I just couldn't wrap my mind around it, it made NO sense at all. I wish I would've gone with my first instinct but the only rational explanation I could come up with was that there was some top secret, inside info favoring Missouri & it scared me off. Plus, when it comes to UK football, recent trends & logic rarely apply.

It is about "respect" among the betting public. The line is off based on Vegas' perception of that lack of respect.

When the game should be a push statistically, and the home team, who is also playing much better then their overall profile is a 2.5 point dog, someone is not respecting the product on the field.

Consult with my rapid sports investment strategy group. We will help guide your "investments" in the right direction. Or try the unknown stock market that will pay out when your 59.5 years old with deferred taxes at that point. I'd rather hit the like game last night that was a gift from " Vegas" for me.

Vegas gets a bunch wrong, but the percentage leans heavy in their favor for getting it right. I have very little knowledge of the stock markets, and lots on Kentuckt teams (hoops and pig skin). Not the first time people disrespected UK without knowing their for real.

I agree with you, but does it really matter if they get it wrong? What they are concerned with is how much money is put on the game for them to win. They may have got it wrong but millions of dollars was bet on Mizzou to cover

Yep, they'd have made even more had they kept the line at 4.5, but they're a bunch of chicken sheets.

Hindsight

They are not in it to make money off of the line. They are in it to make 10% and have the wins and losses equal.
So what. It's true. Saying the line moved towards MO & Vegas made a lot off that is hindsight too.

I feel you guys have a good shot ....yes I know Georgia has the "Star" power but right now both programs appear to be headed in opposite directions. Also the Wildcats are at home

You dont get it

They set a line. they hope they get equal bets on both sides. if thats not happening, the line is adjusted to move it to equal.

Hindsight, because if you told a book beforehand that 80% would be on one side, they wouldnt be happy with the line. its a pretty simple concept that you cant seem to grasp.

Vegas does not respect or disrespect teams. Vegas does not set a line based on emotion, tradition,etc... They set initial lines based on how they believe gamblers will bet. Ultimately it is the bettors that determine 4the spread. As for the mizz line, apparently around one half the bettors thought the spread was good on each side. Seems like a lot of people read stuff into betting lines that is simply not there

I believe we were 6 point underdog at Missouri, and you know how that turned out.

That line for me was just insane. I no longer gamble but watching Missouri the prior week against MTSU no way they should have been +6.
