I was reading an article on a prominent college football schedule fbsschedules.com and it looks like Georgia scheduled another opponent for next season. The author of the article stated that Georgia would need to cancel the Louisville game or WKU game. Is the Georgia series in doubt?

Guessing they will try to buy us out. Replacing us with a conference game likely so they need another cupcake. Unless Kirby isn’t scared that is ;)

I think this is the way things are heading … they will want to cancel our home game and then turn their home game the following season into a “neutral site” season kickoff game in Atlanta (or maybe Charlotte or even Jacksonville).

With the new 9 game SEC conference schedule, the non-conference schedule for the top teams is going to include one home and home series against a power 4 school (and Georgia already has GT for that), a home game against a lower division team, and either another home game against a non-P4 or a “marquee matchup” against a top P4 school at a neutral site.

Make them buy out the whole series- or play the neutral site game at a true neutral site; like Paul Brown Stadium, MT Bank stadium, or some other pro venue not in ATL.

The only problem with that is there are no kickoff classic games scheduled at those stadiums. The AFLAC game in Atlanta that we’ve played in 3 times now is probably where the 2027 game is going to end up.

And between Georgia and us, we can probably sell enough tickets (75,000+) to make it worth UofL’s while to “play nice” and let them cancel next year’s game without enforcing the $1 million penalty.
