First, let me say that I know people will think I am an anti-Christ, liberal, whining loser but here goes.<div>
</div><div>Why the hell has MLB made God Bless America a fixture during baseball games instead of the damn traditional Take Me Out to the Ballgame??? I understood why it was done for the WS right after 9/11 and all. I thought it was fantastic and great and dammit, I felt like an American.</div><div>
</div><div>But, can someone help me to understand why its still happening? And, now, we are taking it a step further and making it EXTRA sappy with having a military person singing it. (nothing at all against the military or those people singing it, but dammit, come on already).</div><div>
</div><div>It just seems so wrong to me that we have taken away such a great moment in baseball and turned it into something else entirely. I was traumatized by 9/11. I will remember that day for the rest of my life. I truly do not think I need to be reminded by it during 7th inning of a baseball game. I think if we as Americans need to be reminded of 9/11 during a baseball game, then perhaps, we should be doing something other than playing baseball to honor it.</div><div>
</div><div>Plus, I LOVED THE IDEA OF TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME. Its the middle of the 7th inning, **** is about to hit the fan. Better stretch now because you aren't going to breath for the next 2 1/2 innings. The calm and fun before the storm of the end of the game. It was just right for this moment.</div><div>
</div><div>Maybe I am 100% off base. But, this is a sports message board and I feel like it sucks. So, there you have it.</div><div>
</div><div>GO ON WITH THE CHLOROFORM!!!</div>
