Well...we're not 2-5, so let's deal with the reality of our 4-3 record (3-2 in SEC) and what we may be able to accomplish the next 3 weeks.
What are you talking about? The "were" was spelled the way I meant it and didn't mean it as "we're". I said Tennessee was just as close to 2-5...not us.

If we keep playing good ball and take out Mizzo and UGA then I like our chances with UT. They had unbelievable luck the first half of the year and were (meaning UT) just as close to being 2-5 instead of 5-2.

Yeah - misunderstood.

Wrong. Vandy is 4-2 right now with a win over Georgia. Both MSU and USC would be 3-3 if we had not beaten them. So to say these wins have no quality is simply for lack of a better word bashing.
I agree. I think Vandy and MSU are quality teams- I'm not sold on USC simply because I think Muschamp is not a good head coach.

James Franklin parlayed beating teams with losing records into millions. Charlie Strong as well. We may be bad in reality, but wins sell the national perception. Perception sells recruits.
Totally agree. Beating perceived big boys is even better. Beat Georgia and our perception goes up 100 fold even if Georgia isn't that good this year. Bottom line is you have to keep winning or you are not improving.

All four wins have been against teams with losing records and the next two wins will come against awful AP and Missouri, who also have losing records. But that's the six wins that we need to go bowling. It's exciting but trying to remain objective since there are no marquee wins yet. Are we really better or is everyone else just worse?
There is opportunity to make a statement regarding the perception or reality of improvement b/c 3/5 remaining games are against teams with winning records -- Georgia being possible but huge underdogs to Tenn and UofL. Win one or more of those three games and we can legitimately claim improvement. Lose all three and still going bowling but need to grab one of these opportunities to justify a change in perception. Not sure that six wins against bad teams gets us there by itself. But have a week to enjoy things until the Missouri win (please don't take them too lightly and screw things up).
Who knows if we'll beat Missouri... BTW, all these teams that we're beating is SEC teams.... Regardless, they're used to winning... Take Miss. State.. they have a better team than you think... Alabama showed me that we can play with any team on our schedule... You can see our team getting more confidence and at the same time playing better each week...

What aren't you sure about? Six wins won't get us what? It will get us to a bowl game, better recruiting and give our players extra practice time... These are small steps, but this is a young team... Next year, this team will be full grown.. Come back and we'll have this conversation again...

I think we'll have a better chance against Georgia, than Missouri, but that's just because it's a road game... I'll take UK over any of those two teams at home...

Sure we're in a weaker conference, but that isn't our fault... We're making the best of a bad situation and as of right now, we're the #2 team in the East, ahead of UT... No matter how you mix it, that's what comes up... Playing with a young roster, UK has come a long way...

Why not ban him? I've already proven he's a UL fan. You gonna let a rival fan get away with starting a bashing thread like this?

I have been very critical of Stoops but I swear some people aren't happy unless they are bitching. You can only beat the teams they put on your schedule. The bottomline is the Cats are 4-1 in the past five games and have a chance to get an SEC road win next week. I wanted Stoops gone as much as anyone but I'm not going to let that overshadow my enjoyment of UK victories.

Well in the past we have got it to 5 games, but we need 2 more wins i thank AP should be a sure win, but i would thank UM is a must win for us to get to 6. Winning 5 games this yr is just not going to get it..

Not sure if you're serious. We are still a long way from worrying about that. Franklin won 9 games for 2 years. We are just trying to get 6 right now.
6 is in the bag. The question becomes will we get a signature type win by beating Georgia.

Not quite correct b/c Vandy is 4-4 but would have sworn that it was 3-4 (b/c I thought that it would only be 2-5 if WKU hadn't gifted a win to it). So maybe the post should have been worded something like 'hasn't beat a team with a winning record." Yet; no one knows final records until after the season. Could make UK's record look better or worse at that point, which will affect perception one way or the other. Who knows? But the current question remains: Have we actually improved or has everyone else just gotten worse? Maybe it's a little bit of both. Just posting fodder for now b/c the other teams still have games to play too. I candidly think that the outcome of the Tenn game will have the biggest effect on our perception/respect (whatever you want to call it). But still happy that we are going bowling with all that it entails.
BTW, I don't feed trolls (not you Deeeefense) who constantly derail threads so will let the "other" poster continue trying to make up for his physical inadequacies. If he wants to prove his superiority as a fan, he can buy me and my fiancé dinner in Columbia this weekend b/c all of us true fans are making the road trip and giving up their Halloween weekend, right?

Wrong. Vandy is 4-2 right now with a win over Georgia. Both MSU and USC would be 3-3 if we had not beaten them. So to say these wins have no quality is simply, for lack of a better word, bashing.

This ain't 1985. The words "good" and "bowl team" should not be used in the same sentence! Of course we deserve it if we get there. I believe there are 41 bowl games now.

The number of bowl games has doubled about every 20 years:

1955: 6
1975: 11
1995: 18
2015: 40
