While other programs are losing key players to the portal and the draft, hes got a lot of important players committing to stay. Kids must like playing for him
All indications are that he's staying as well (but just not "announcing" it). The ONLY loss on D will be Max, to the NFL, but Rodgers started to look "ready" to fill the role, without skipping a beat, by season's end.Hopefully Longerbeam is staying, he's the last one to announce.
agree! While other programs are losing key players to the portal and the draft, hes got a lot of important players committing to stay. Kids must like playing for him
So trueAll the talk about the "culture" at RU must be true. Kudos to Coach Schiano;
He isHopefully Longerbeam is staying, he's the last one to announce.
Ahanotu and Iton were the starting interior linemen and we need at least 1 portal transfer to help fill those roles. All indications are that he's staying as well (but just not "announcing" it). Yes, but we knew they were going, NO choice, all used their eligibility.Ahanotu and Iton were the starting interior linemen and we need at least 1 portal transfer to help fill those roles.
Jennings was the leading tackler, to say he is not a loss does not give him credit for his play on the field.
let me see- Dixon, Longerbeam, Powell, Lewis, Bailey, KM, Toure and not losing a single starter up till now to the portal vs losing these guys and maybe upgrading a little a QB and losing those guysIs the NIL needed to keep the current players better spent on a QB ? I don't see retaining players as a culture thing. I view it as $$ motivation.
Remember, he's a defense first HC and aside from JM, that's most likely where he's spending.
what starter did we lose?let me see- Dixon, Longerbeam, Powell, Lewis, Bailey, KM, Toure and not losing a single starter up till now to the portal vs losing these guys and maybe upgrading a little a QB and losing those guys
And it took NIL to get the new WR too
I dont think we havewhat starter did we lose?
So you're saying it's not worth spending on a QB....just checking. Isn't not having a QB capable of sustaining drives what wore out the defense against the better teams we played ? I question the status quo with the most important position on the team.let me see- Dixon, Longerbeam, Powell, Lewis, Bailey, KM, Toure and not losing a single starter up till now to the portal vs losing these guys and maybe upgrading a little a QB and losing those guys

that's what I thought. I may have misread your postI dont think we have
you asked if it would be better spent- Let's say we got McCord but didn't keep these other players, get the kid from Mammoth, keep someone like Pierce...So you're saying it's not worth spending on a QB....just checking. Yea McCoRD would have been too costly, but how about someone lower rated in the portal who’s still a lot better than GW.you asked if it would be better spent- Let's say we got McCord but didn't keep these other players, get the kid from Mammoth, keep someone like Pierce...
It is much better spent on the players we kept and the WR we got and maybe the couple of 4 stars coming in...
I believe the kid from Minny is still coming for a visit- will be interesting to see if Greg makes a serious play for him.Yea McCoRD would have been too costly, but how about someone lower rated in the portal who’s still a lot better than GW.
I think the Monmouth WR, no matter how good he is, is a waste of NIL because of philosophy and the QB’s limitations.
according to reports,he came this past weekend. before the visit I called bs on a possible offer and legit interest by us for the reasons I've stated. I said the kid just wanted to meet with his old coordinator to see if he might have a chance to compete for QB1, and also an offer for his brother. Kicking the tires is what I called it.I believe the kid from Minny is still coming for a visit- will be interesting to see if Greg makes a serious play for him.
Because he didn’t commit doesn’t mean he didn’t get offered.according to reports,he came this past weekend. before the visit I called bs on a possible offer and legit interest by us for the reasons I've stated. I think it's clear now that there was no offer....more support for my view that Schiano isn't looking for a credible QB in the portal to compete with GW. Not proof yet, but the evidence sure is adding up.
He'll have that opportunity someplace else.
That’s because he can’t convince any offensive difference makers to come let alone pay them. “Clearly working”? How? If not for Michigan State’s special teams meltdown in the 2nd half we’d be 5-7 just like last yearAs I recall, Schiano indicated he prefers to use NIL for players already within the program rather than recruiting. This approach to NIL seems far more reasonable, at least to me, and looks to be clearly working.
I beg of you. If you want to engage someone in useless discussion, I'll give you my phone number and I will talk to you 12 hours per day if you stop engaging that useless twit.you asked if it would be better spent- Let's say we got McCord but didn't keep these other players, get the kid from Mammoth, keep someone like Pierce...

You could draw a picture for the guy, and he still would not change his broken record tune.Because he didn’t commit doesn’t mean he didn’t get offered.
I am not a fan of Schiano's game day management, but what he does from a Program perspective is nothing short of spectacular. To get all these guys to return and not even, at least, test the portal waters, is unbelievable. I know a few are testing the water at RU, but this is special.
True. I do think he would have committed if offered, which is why I don’t think he got one. His brother being in the portal too complicates things. We will never know what transpired.Because he didn’t commit doesn’t mean he didn’t get offered.
As usual you are cluelessTrue. I do think he would have committed if offered, which is why I don’t think he got one. His brother being in the portal too complicates things. We will never know what transpired.
If you're a "developmental program", that's the way to go.As I recall, Schiano indicated he prefers to use NIL for players already within the program rather than recruiting. This approach to NIL seems far more reasonable, at least to me, and looks to be clearly working.
If your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle. Deal in what happened and not hypotheticals. The program is improving. That’s because he can’t convince any offensive difference makers to come let alone pay them. “Clearly working”? How? If not for Michigan State’s special teams meltdown in the 2nd half we’d be 5-7 just like last year
Schiano knows he’ll never compete with Maryland let alone PSU, OSU or Michigan so he throws these terms out there such as ‘developmental program’ or ‘rebuild’ to keep the fools at bay & the money flowing. It’s really about the bank accountIf you're a "developmental program", that's the way to go.
By "working" I was simply referring to keeping key players on board. Outside of Melton opting for the draft, our eligible upperclassmen are almost all on board. That said, I too hope to see improvement next season especially against more middle of the pack teams.“Clearly working”? How? in these days of NIL/Portal - and teams making offers to kids that have not even said they were going to transfer-By "working" I was simply referring to keeping key players on board.
