Has any P4 program burned through more failed OCs in the last 10 years than us?

Serious question. Six OCs in 10 seasons. None lasting longer than 2 seasons. It's a remarkable track record of futility. Question: if you're a prospective OC, do you look at this list and say "Ahhh, no thanks"?:

Kurt Roper: OC 2016-2017
Bryan McClendon: OC 2018-2019
Mike Bobo: OC 2020
Marcus Satterfield: OC 2021-2022
Dowell Loggains: OC 2023-2024
Mike Shula: OC 2025 (partial)

I wouldn't exactly say they've been "burning" through them though. Replacing OCs who leave for HC gigs or NFL gigs is not quite the situation we have faced with our revolving door.

UK has had a ton under Stoops

More recently, yeah. Gran was their OC from 2016-2020, a pretty successful five-year run for the offense.

Liam Coen came in for the 2021 season from the NFL and UK's offense blew up to 32 ppg, then he promptly returned to the NFL as an OC, so that's not bad on UK or Stoops.

Coen came back in 2023 after the OC in 2022 destroyed the offense promptly returned an explosive offense to UK, then promptly returned to the NFL.

Not nearly as bad as our situation.

Don't blame me. I was lobbying for Kiffin for head coach back in the day.

He can cheat AND coach. I was on record saying we needed to follow Clemson's blueprint. I stand by that to this day. Kiffin is HC / OC in one package. All this discussion would have been moo...

I was turned off by Kiffin back in the day when he coached UT. I would welcome him with open arms and be willing to pay the money the University is asking of its club members.

Satterfield and Loggins got new jobs. Loggings would have been OC this year. We won't ever know how he would have done.

Very much wanted Muschamp fired a year earlier and to pursue Kiffin. But that was never going to happen. Has a university's athletic department ever had such a turn of events like this one had of Tanner going from hero to villain?

I still contend the OCs haven't been the real problem. Since Spurrier's great three year run, the talent hasn't been here. Sure, there have been some good players, but across the board talent with depth has been nonexistent.

South Carolina is, and always has been, difficult to recruit to. There are many reasons for this. The history of the program is mediocre, the program is the little brother to the other football program in the state, there are some pretty high profile programs in neighboring states or at least in the region, the campus is in the middle of a downtown area of a city that is not exactly known as a hotspot of excitement, the stadium is far from campus in an area that isn't exactly beautiful. Imagine you are a 5 star player in the state of Georgia. You have every team in the region recruiting you. What are the odds you decide South Carolina is the place that stands out above UGA, Bama, Tennessee, Clemson, UF, Auburn and FSU?

Yes, SC will sign a few top level HS players every year but not all of them will pan out in college and there won't be enough of them to fill the roster with talent that can win a lot of games.

Auburn has burned through 10 during that time period, and one guy was actually named Burns, :)

2016, Laslee/Burns
2017, Lindsey/Burns
2018, Lindsey
2019, Dillingham
2020, Chad Morris
2021, Mike Bobo
2022, Eric Kiesau for 8 games then Ike Hilliard for 4 games
2023 Phillip Montgomery
2024 Derrick Nix
2025 Derrick Nix

I bet there is bunch more teams with more than us, but it takes time to flip through wiki, so I started with some dysfunctional SEC programs and found one on my second try.

My guess would be 20 P4 teams+ with 6 or more during that time frame, 2016 season through 2025,
