Just curious how many people actually stand in line, wait all day, and constantly cheer for these things.
I’d need a gallon of whiskey and a personal port a potty.

Nowadays it’d have to be at the Neshoba County Fair.Never been to a presidential rally, but did hear Reagan campaign for a Mississippi Republican gubernatorial candidate in the early 80s at the Jackson Coliseum. Tammy Wynette was there and sang "Stand By Your Man". For those of you with access to a time machine, I highly recommend it.
I saw both Pat Robertson and Jesse Jackson make campaign appearances at Mississippi State in ‘88
That was Reagan’s first campaign stop in 1980 after the gop convention. There’s plenty reading one can do on it, it was something of an infamous event.Nowadays it’d have to be at the Neshoba County Fair.
No and I can’t imagine a scenario, outside of being retired and a nearby rally, in which I’d spend my personal time listening to a politician spout off about how great he or she is. I just don’t get it.Just curious how many people actually stand in line, wait all day, and constantly cheer for these things.

I did not attend either!I saw both Pat Robertson and Jesse Jackson make campaign appearances at Mississippi State in ‘88
Was that a presidential rally or galactic imperial rally?Yes. Just a few weeks ago actually.
Yes, I saw Jesse Jackson talk at the MSU Student Union the year he ran for president, I shook his hand and noticed he was wearing a bulletproof vest, then a few weeks later Pat Robertson spoke and was running as well. I am pretty sure Reagan won that race but didn’t come to Starkville. Neither were very impressive but we had Reagan at that time. Today’s acrimony was not there at the time, or maybe it was. Things always seem nicer in retrospect. I miss Reagan.Just curious how many people actually stand in line, wait all day, and constantly cheer for these things.

I got tackled by Jesse Jackson's Secret Service detail in 1984. He was in the Union and I had no idea. Apparently, I walked right past someone at the door who wanted to check my backpack. I took about 4 steps inside the Union and I was on the ground.I saw both Pat Robertson and Jesse Jackson make campaign appearances at Mississippi State in ‘88
Yeah, he was farming alright, playing the field and fertilizing itView attachment 685278

No. And there is a 0% chance that I will ever attend a rah rah session for any politician unless I accidentally stumble into it in a drunken haze.Just curious how many people actually stand in line, wait all day, and constantly cheer for these things.

Did he pretend to blow the microphone at the Tupelo rally too?I went to a Trump rally in Tupelo at the Bancorp Souther center in 2020. It was worth the wait and the place was packed. Would definitely do it again, even though he says the same thing at practically all of his rallies.
This was my one and only experience as well. High school senior class trip over to Jackson but we got in. As I recall only the cool schools were allowed inside. They just told you they didn't have any more room.**in 1974 (methinks) I and my entire high school senior class came to the Coliseum in Jackson to hear Richard Nixon speak. The people hosting the event had given away more tickets than the Coliseum could hold so we were stuck outside with all the protesters. So we joined in shouting IMPEACH! IMPEACH! Fun times those were.
