Texas Bowl likely takes A&M in my opinion. Only other school that might travel to there is LSU. For the 6 bowl pool, now there is only one game difference in total wins between all of the likely teams that will get selected. Everyone is either 8-4 or 7-5 (7-4 for LSU). One team is 5-3 in conference (LSU). There are 4 at 4-4 (Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, and A&M). The last team is 3-5 (Arkansas). As close as all those are in overall and conference wins, I don't think any bowl will guarantee to take the highest win total when it is their turn. They want to pick teams that will put butts in seats and draw lots of viewers. I think it will end up something like this.

Playoff - Alabama
Sugar - Florida
Citrus - Auburn
Texas - A&M
MCB - Kentucky
Belk - Georgia
Liberty - Arkansas
Outback - Tennessee
TaxSlayer - LSU
Birmingham - USC
Independence - Vandy
At Large - Miss St (APR)

I messed up my last prediction and I had to account for that and wins by Vandy and MSU.

Only problem is that Arkansas went to Liberty and UT went to Outback last year. I think the major driver behind the "pool" of teams in the middle is to increase attendance and prevent repeat berths.

How bout this?

Playoff - Alabama
Sugar - Florida/Auburn
Citrus - Florida/Auburn
Texas - A&M
MCB - Arkansas
Belk - Georgia
Liberty - Tennessee/UK
Outback - LSU
TaxSlayer - Tennessee/UK
Birmingham - USC
Independence - Vandy
At Large - Ole Miss (APR)

Georgia and arky losses were big for us. I think taxslayer is very possible. We would travel well to Florida also

Wish Tennessee got a win yesterday to lock up another New Years six spot.

CBS has us in the independence bowl still vs NC State. I'm hoping we get a better one than that.

Isn't the Orange Bowl ACC vs. Big 10/SEC? If I'm not mistaken, Miss. St. is the only SEC team they have invited in the last 10 or 15 years. Is it possible Florida/Auburn go to the Sugar/Orange? This would take one more out of the "six" and may boost us to the Gator (I will not say "TaxSlayer.").

For those wanting the Music City bowl... while it is still very likely our destination we were not helped by Tennessee losing to Vandy last night. A MCB rep is on record for saying last week that they would love to host UT in Nashville, but felt that the Vols would be offered a bigger bowl. Since they choked against Vandy there is a legitimate chance they fell from Sugar/Citrus conversations right into the lap of the Music City.

The mess that was created yesterday will have to be sorted through and bowls will have to redo their wish lists. UK will land somewhere in the group of 6 bowls, but after yesterday none of those six can be ruled out except for maybe the Texas Bowl. Arkansas/LSU/Texas A&M should be the top three for that bowl. I have Auburn going to the Sugar bowl now

I want a bowl we can win. Other than that don't care. Just happy that we will be able to watch our cats this bowl season.

Tennessee fans are not staying in state to support that hot mess.

The Orange Bowl takes the ACC Rep vs. the highest ranked in the last CFP between the B1G, SEC & Notre Dame. And it must wait until the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl get their SEC, B1G Selection. Right now it appears that Ohio State and Alabama are locked in the CFP...The Rose Bowl is going to take the winner of Wisconsin/Penn State and Michigan is ranked much higher than any other SEC School not named Alabama. That is why they are a lock for the Orange Bowl

We can win any bowl if we play like were capable of playing. We proved that yesterday.

We played well. But we were also very lucky. Everything went our way for a change. Lord knows we were due. If Jackson doesn't fumble the outcome is likely different and this board is in meltdown mode. Blaming Stoops for going conservative again and not playing to win down the stretch.

I'm not saying this to diminish what our cats did yesterday. I'm tickled to death. They played their hearts out with a never quit attitude. I just think it would be HUGE to head into the offseason with a bowl win. Huge for recruiting, confidence, etc.

If it means going to a lesser bowl for that to happen I'm all for it.

what is the weather like in Jacksonville during that time?

Perfect it is Florida. Jacksonville is a fun town and has a fantastic downtown river walk. As home of the World's Largest Cocktail Party it knows how to have a good time. Wish it was still the Gator Bowl

To get attendance better, there will likely have to be repeat bowls. Unless they bump Arkansas up to the Texas Bowl and move A&M to the Outback, Tennessee to TaxSlayer, and LSU to Liberty.

You really think MS ST is going to get a bid based on APR at 5-7?

Teams listed in APR order. APR Rating in parenthesis. Remaining opponent listed for each team.

North Texas (984) -- season complete
Mississippi State (971) -- season complete
Texas (971) -- season complete
Northern Illinois (970) -- season complete

Then they are either retarded or haven't updated it. We have been in the pool bowl group since we got our 6th win.

I just don't see Tennessee wanting to stay instate. It has been a disappointing season for them and they probably won't attend the MCB very well. To them that bowl is probably beneath them.
