The Vikes head to Pate for their season opener. SC will be a big favorite to win. Hoggard has a lot to prove. I just don't know how good this team is or how good they can be. They can be good upfront and their front 7 should be strong. If QB plays well Hoggard will be fine, but he doesn't have the weapons at WR that Hoggard as had the past 4-5 years. Hoggard will need to control the clock and take what SC gives in the passing game.

Scots GIVE a plenty in the passing game .
Big favorite is a questionable quote at best.
Hoggard must be better than that team from
Last night. Expect a much tighter game this
Friday night and hopefully MUCH better
Qb play from the home team .

Should think about putting #3 back there maybe.... what else is there to lose?

Hoggard knows exactly how to play SC. They will line it up and chunk it all over the place. If they have a mobile qb and solid line play this will be another classic. SC secondary is better but I have a concern at corner. Tall receivers will be a problem on one side if the Qb has time.

Tall WR can not be found this year at Hoggard.

I believe the biggest advantage we have in this game is playing time. If I'm not mistaking they (Hoggard) had to drop S. Robeson and a scrimmage from their schedule... but I'm still expecting Hoggard to be Hoggard.

That is a change. That really helps us we have good corners but size is a concern on those 50/50 balls. I believe in HS you should practice interference when you know you are beat. It's not a spot foul. Lineup for another play instead of giving up 6 which is normally where those 50/50 balls end up. The db is on the ground and the receiver walks in!

RCO if Scotland plays around with working on the pass
too much then your pick is not out of the question. If
Scot acts like Scot with the weapons that they have
then they win by multiple scores.

A little torn about this game. Just a little. One of my Wilmington kids plays for Hoggard now so I hope he has a good game. However I’m going Scots by a healthy margin.

Devilmac99 DaMouth has a question for ya.. Will the Scots rotate Qb’s this week or do you think there will be a starter named for Hoggard game?

Jimmy Hart Jr. If he is going to play musical chairs i would rather he give one quarter to each player so go #12 1st then #6 2nd and then #6 3rd and #12 4th or vice-versa unless one of them is stinking up the joint. I said it earlier if I see #12 back there i would light him up like a Christmas tree if I'm the opposing team.

I don't understand why they took 12 out of the game Monday??? 14-0 us, he was playing sort of ok then, and 6 comes in and they both struggle the rest of the night

Because he is alternating after every (2) series which is no way to evaluate. Let them play out a full quarter. With SC defense more times than not there will be multiple 3 and outs so the Qb will get 3-4 series a quarter. #12 is fine as long as he is throwing the deep ball. Anything where there are multiple defenders in his sight he is not very good. Even on the long balls his ball placement is suspect. Good qb's place the ball where the receiver can go run under it on post and go routes with the a little air where the ball fades to the inside shoulder not over the head to the outside shoulder. Very hard catch for hs receivers to make.

The best qb is playing receiver IMO but due to injury concerns I would assume he is not back there. I think if he is back there Bailey probably gets the ship that has alluded him for so long. I don't have a lot of faith in either the two that we have now but I would take #6 over #12 any day. #12 has the "deer in the headlights look"!

#6 for sure. More athletic and can do the little screen passes and short stuff if Bailey wants some passing. Get him a pair of gloves to stop fumbling that ball off the snap and he’d be good to go

I dont care if Scotland has 1 QB or 10. They will win with one of them. They will most definitely find a way. I personally like the long blond headed QB Scotland has. Buddy has an arm on him and can sling it. But the question is can he run and scramble when the time comes?

The scrimmage looked great but in the Guilford game once the ball left the QB's hands it should have been caught. Dropped a couple. I know one thing. I know bailey was proud of Defense holding the Falcons to 120 yards by keeping Zion under pressure the whole game.

If the Scotland fans are happy then thats all it matters

FYI . The flemming kid (Zion) didn't play against SC. He has been injured for a few weeks. Their roster was all wrong on Max Preps. I think Flemming is #6 but he didn't play. He would have fared a little better than the starter from Friday because he is about 6ft. 220 and can run.

I give the edge to scotland. Im sure hoggard will come to play(too much history there} but scotland is at home and the team has had more real game experience.

A few questionable calls there but that one was pretty bad. Funny thing was the ref near the end zone also called the play an incomplete pass (even after it was caught and the Scots receiver drug 2 guys into the end zone) and had to be corrected lol. Then BOOM a flag for jumping up and down to celebrate. Oh well...on to tonight. If the Scots don't turn it over they win comfortably

Oh yeah! #2 and #34 ran the ball well and #21 went up and grabbed a few deep balls. #57 on the o-line is ridiculously agile for a big man. Great footwork. A few others stood out but I can't remember all the numbers.

Some of you guys, no credit at all! SC played hard and Hoggard played hard. Hoggard got some calls and SC got some calls. Funny how some of you guys only remember the ones that serve your purpose. The PI call in the end zone could have been and Off PI just as easy. The big lineman was holding all night because the speed was just too much for him. He got called maybe 3-4 times. The RB was moving before the snap the whole game and never got called.
Calls go both ways and you just look like a homer when you cant give credit where credit is do. Sometimes other teams are good, sometimes other players make plays. There is football outside of SC.

Calls or non calls it doesn't matter. Hoggard won a game last night that could have gone either way had a play here or there went different. In the grand scheme of things it means absolutely nothing. Congrats

I agree, SC could have easily won that game just as much as Hoggard did. I thought both teams played well towards their strength.

6 to 0 scots at half. Keep making mistakes on offense thank goodness for our d. Ball on 1 yard line and you come away with nothing. Oh man!
