I see 51.25 is bigger than 53.88 in your computer projections.
I see 87.34 is bigger than 88.77 in your computer projections.

I'm just curious, how is Cardinal Gibbons with 2 losses is ranked higher than Leesville Road and Leesville beat them??

I explained how the ratings work. You're in a poll mentality. The ratings are not a poll. I described how the ratings are calculated in another post. I'll post it again here. When you read how the ratings are calculated, if you notice, there are no votes in there or poll taken.

In doing the ratings, several bits of information are gathered. First a power points system is used. Teams earn game points whether they win or lose. The points received is determined by a team's winning or losing against a team of different classifications. For example 26 points are earned for every 4A team a team defeats. They receive 20/18 or 16 depending on whether their opponent was class 3A/2A or 1A.

A team receives points even if they lose a game. A team receives 10 points for losing to a 4A team and 8/6 or 4 points depending on whether that team lost to a 3A, 2A or 1A team.

Bonus points are awarded for every win an opponent has, whether that team won or lost to the opponents. If an opponent is defeated, the team receives 2 bonus points for each opponent's win. If a team loses to an opponent, that team will receive 1 point for each win the opponent has.

Sometimes due to split conferences or location where there may not be many large schools, some teams may play an opponent in a lower class. So as not to be at a disadvantage, classification points are awarded for a team that plays a team of a lower classification. A team receives 2 classification points for each class down they play. For example, a 4A team playing a 3A team will receive 2 classification points for each 3A team played. A 4A team would receive 4 classifications points for playing a 2A team and 6 classification points for playing a 1A team.

Each team also receives points for point differential. They don't receive the full value, but each team's points for point differential are determined by multiplying the point differential by .25. For example a team with a point differential of 50 points would receive 50x.25 or 12.50 points.

Each team receives points for a home or away victory or loss. An away victory is valued at 10 points and a home victory is valued at 5 points. A loss at home receives a value of 2.5 points and a loss on the road 5 points.

Teams are awarded points for strength of schedule. Two SOS determinants are used. MaxPreps and Massey ratings.

Power ratings points are awarded based on the Massey ratings. In addition, offensive and defensive power points are awarded based on Massey's ratings.

Teams receive points based on how they are ranked. Three ranking systems are used; MaxPreps, Carolina Preps and the Massey ratings.

All the points from the different categories are added then divided by the number of games played. This determines a team's rating for that week. Teams will be ranked from 1-25 based on that team's points average.

it’s useless Roll Honda’s picks differ than his own rankings.. lol ..
Of course it's useless. It's not Simmons or any other rating which is no better, but people somewhere will swear by it. It's like any other poll, ranking, rating, etc... It's not used for anything. Plus these ratings only illustrate how a team has performed against it's schedule. Now if you want a great laugh, take a look at the Maxpreps adjusted ratings.

I don’t have any problems with mr Honda’s poll.
But if I had a poll my picks would be accordingly
With my rankings to validate my work .

I feel that’s a joke. No diss to EF but this season they’re no way better than RC or Mallard Creek. Where in the heck is Myers Park? Regarding West Forsyth and Scotland, they look good, but man those adjusted rankings, as a whole are way off.

EF is definitely better then RC until proved that they can be beat, and MC VS EF would be a great game no cake walk for the CREEK...

It’s evident you don’t follow Football outside your zip code! Big shout out to EF for winning 4A last year, but it had to be the weakest competition in years, and they barely beat a young 5 games lost, injured no depth Scotland team last year.

Ok so In your opinion, if EF went 4aa do you see them being competition to a MC OR RC OR MP OR EVEN A WAKE FOREST TEAM?

No sir! Wake Forest possibly. Vance, Richmond and Mallard Creek they would have serious problems. Out of the 6 L's Scotland took last year. EF was the only close game. They are not on that level this year or last year

Wake Forest probably, but the rest? For awhile but they’d have too much for the Eagles and pull away. But before you mention RC, MC, or MP, learn how to handle the Grimsleys of the world better than they did last week. Hmmm even before you mention Vance.

I don’t see it!

What do you mean learn how to deal with the Grimsleys of the world?? We escaped on the ROAD in a packed game with a W at the end of the day

Yep, after a blown 21-0 lead.

How did Mallard Creek lose to Hough last fall in the playoffs, 3 weeks after beating them handily? Stuff happens. How did Scotland lose to 71st in the regular season last year, and then crush them 28-0 in the playoffs? Stuff happens. How did East go from being up 21-0 early 2nd qtr to hanging on to win? Stuff happens.

You guys keep diminishing the state title last year because Scotland was a 6 loss team. Go ask 71st if Scotland was the same team at year end they had been earlier in the year. I get it, since east didn't beat at least one of you guys "anointed" Charlotte teams, last year's ring will always have an asterisk. You can only play the team in front of you. Hopefully Vance will go small 4A this year and we'll all get to see how they match up. Last time a big time Charlotte team came to town, we got to see a heck of a game. Would love to see another one.

Well clearly Scotland wasn't good enough for you guys who continue to put MC, MP and Vance in a league of their own so I guess I mistakenly assumed that it didn't count if it didn't go through one of them. Must be a misunderstanding on my part. Can't control who is in the bracket. I'm not going to say east would have beaten any of those teams, we'll never know. But East has shown they can compete with anyone. Again, hopefully Vance will go 4A so we'll get to see how they match up.

And for the record, scrimmages don't mean squat. Let's be clear about that.
For some reason some East supporters, even after a state championship, have this need for acceptance. Just enjoy the season you’re having so far and best of luck in your game with West.

Let me be clearer. Stupid guy makes dumb comment about how great east is. You guys in turn bash east for not beating someone you deem good enough in the title game and only beating Grimsley by 1. Does that make you feel better? Not looking for acceptance. Pointing out the flaws in your thought process. Thought this was a place to discuss our opinions, maybe not. Sounds more like you guys have some sort of a complex.

Didn't play well last week, happens at times. Not saying we're better than any of the top teams. Don't care. Opinion polls don't matter. It's state title or bust.

Oh, and definitely enjoying the success of the program right now.
