How About A UL/UK Neutral Site Game?

There is always so much hype over the FL/GA game with it being a 50/50 game with the tickets split even like the IU/UK basketball game use to be. What do you all think about maybe having our game with UL at like Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati with split tickets every year?

Nah...

I'm not a huge fan of the neutral site games save the exception of a big time basketball match up...UK v Texas, MSU, Duke, Syracuse, etc...when the crowds can exceed what most college and pro arenas can hold.

Florida and UGA playing neutral sites is goofy as hell.

I mean big time SEC rivalry should be played on an sec campus in an sec town, especially when the neutral site doesn't have the seating capacity of either home stadium. I mean Jag's stadium is about 67,000. Bulldogs house a little over 90, the Swamp just under 90.

It's the only somewhat equal distance location that is suitable for a big football game. We don't have a couple of pro stadiums in state like Florida does. I only brought it up because of how hyped this game is between FL and GA. Plus that basketball game with IU was as well. Anything to add some extra hype to the rivalry. Winning some might help as well.

Cincinnati has enough problems without adding 20,000 specimens of UofLoL filth up here once a year.

The Florida Georgia game is not just a random neutral site game. Been the biggest cocktail party for a long, long time.

I graduated from UGA, but I'm not a Georgia native. I hate that game. I think it's stupid that they play there, and I think it's stupid that UGA has not either moved that back to a home and home or gotten Atlanta into the rotation.

Several inaccuracies here.

1. Florida and Georgia playing at a neutral site may be "goofy as hell" to you, but they've been doing it for years and years and years and it's one of the greatest traditions in the SEC (along with Oklahoma and Texas playing in front of a 50/50 crowd at the cotton bowl every year).

2) Extra seating is installed for the Florida-Georgia game, so capacity is greater for this game than for Jags' games. Yesterday's crowd was 84,861.

3) The schools make a ton of money off of this game. I'm sure the local establishments would prefer on-campus games, but the Jacksonville game is lucrative for both schools.

Probably like bowl money: no student freebies & inflated ticket pricing.

My main reason against it is that in reality both schools and cities look forward the game every other. Why send both fan bases to another state to spend their money in Cincy or Nashville.

Totally agree. Also, the teams seem to have trouble selling out this game with its new November timeslot so moving it to Cincy or Nashville or Indy would make that problem even worse.

In short, it isn't happening.

Why would we play Louisville in the state of Ohio in a stadium that seats 65,000? And why the hell would we want an even ticket split? We have a significantly larger fanbase. Absolutely terrible idea.

Play it at Shelbyville or K-State.

The UK UL game does not rise to the level of a neutral game site. Neither team is at that level as a program. It would be like Purdue and IU playing at a neutral site. No one cares.

Cincinnati would be a good place for a UK/OSU neutral game site, if there ever was one. Obviously, that's not a game that we need to schedule at this point, and probably not for a long time, if ever.

I've always wanted that...would be pretty cool but we've a ways to go.
