what can UK and Mitch do to set Mark Stoops up for success? Would it help to add additional coaches in advisor roles. Imagine adding names like Les Miles, mike leach, or Mason. Could the additional experience help??

Mike Leach leaving a head coaching job at WSU to be an assistant at UK? Only way they could help the program is to replace MS. Mason would be a lateral move.

Before I added anyone, I would send Coach Stoops to "Basic Leadership Class 101".

Florida hired Spurrier as some kind of advisor for the football team.

I don't see why Rich Brooks can't be offered the same kind of job.

They could transplant his brain with Saban or Meyers?? That would prolly help. Hell lets just hire them as advisors while you're at it dude. Maybe Bellichiek too

He can get a taste of BLC at the UK ROTC. His position is the equivalent of an officer anyway. But your right he may need BLC where the rubber meets the road, the enlisted corp.

He's already succeeded. He'll be leaving here with roughly what, 20 million?

Let's figure out how to help our players succeed shall we?

Try to give your team a chance at success. Drop UL off the schedule. UK should have never played them in the first place. (Does anyone care about IU football anymore since we don't play them.) It's bad enough losing to S. Miss but then you turn around and play UL where it's another loss in a non-SEC schedule that your team should be 4-0 in. Going 2-2 in the non-SEC portion of your schedule forces you to go 4-4 in the SEC to make a bowl. That has not happen a lot in my lifetime no matter who the coach or AD were. Once you are winning 7 or 8 games your recruiting will ramp up even more. Then you can add a power 5 team or two back on.

Shell out the money to get the best DC they can find for next season, someone equally in stature to Gran - i.e. a Bo Pelini type. Then we have a great chance to succeed. That would ultimately be cheaper than replacing the head coach down the road.

Not much more that can be done at this point. New facilities, bigger budget, high paid assistants. It's up to Stoops now for success for Stoops.

Rich Brooks is making plenty of pocket coin playing golf these days, if he can just keep the double bogeys off the card.

Mark Stoops is making a whole lot of money to still be on training wheels. We do not need a consultant or co-head coach, we need to act like a school that plays the game to win. Stoops should have replaced his DC after the first season. The head coach has been disorganized since the first press conference. It is hard to teach organization to a man who is already running the program. You should have that trait before you are hired. Mitch did not do his homework but I guess we were desperate to find somebody to coach here. In the future we need to take the responsibility away from MB to hire the head football coach and head basketball coach. Or better yet, retire MB.

I don't think those guys (or any other "advisors") are walking' thru that door.

But was he not already "set up" for success this year with 6 very winnable games on the home schedule and a 7th winnable game (MO) on the road? And, as a bonus, a home game against what now looks to be a very ordinary GA team. JMO.

Peace
