How will this year's champions end up next season?

Obviously this was one of the more satisfying years for JCA fans; not because we did not believe I our players, but because the program is in flux and overall JCA numbers were down. We knew there was talent on the team, but losing a super star RB in the first game of the year made things go from hopeful to...please win week nine!

That prologue aside, next year JCA not only returns a small amount of starters, but also has a very small number of seniors to be...maybe the lowest in school history. Having five extra weeks helps experience, but honestly, I have no idea what to expect next season. We will have a dynamic backfield, but what comes with it, and what of the new schedule???

I think JCA will be in a similar state next year, where a 5-4 record could result in a state run provided the team improves week-to-week. That said, next year's class should be laden with underclassmen that I think will be very very talented.

So who is in the best position to repeat, fall from grace, or is in a who knows situation? JCA is in the latter.

Who are your non-cons? The last three weeks look like all w's. BR looks like only loss based upon their projections and your graduations. 6-3?

Always a tough call. LA is good every year, but repeating in 8A is extremely difficult. See LWE this year.

If I had to pick, I might go Naz, as the most likely. They return a lot, and 7A might lose one of the typical contenders in ESL.

Not sure what C-G has coming back, but I would imagine they have a decent shot of repeating.

I would place JCA's odds of repeating as the lowest of the 4 largest classes. You touched on the main reason. Very low numbers in next year's senior class. Plus, Montini would seem to be the prohibitive favorite in 5A, unless ESL falls in 5A.

Out of curiousity, I looked at the JCA roster this year, and didn’t realize, from an outside standpoint, how low the junior numbers were on the roster. Has that particular class (2020), always struggled with numbers?

JCA Freshman team was outstanding, as long as they don’t have many transfer, look for them to be heavy on Sophomore starters next year.

No. They had decent numbers as frosh and Sophs. A handful of kids who are baseball players didn't go out for football as juniors which hurts

I love me some CG but I don’t think a repeat is in the cards. Too many big spots to fill.

JC needs to retool defense entirely. One LB, one DL, one DB returning. I assume lots of sophs will end up starting on that side. Offensively they have to rebuild the line around Kovas. Backfield should be fun with Williams, mack, and the Perez kid looked good in his trial by fire at FB. But will need to develop more of a passing game next season. I love the speed and ability of Williams. From the few Carrie's insaw against rita, he will have to learn to hit the hole harder and be more physical. Him and mack will be a nice lightning duo and perhaps Perez can provide the thunder.

Schedule wise there isn't much wiggle room for 5 wins. They could conceivably be 1-4 or 2-3 after 5 weeks. Only reasonable chances to win are Laurence and fenwick. After that they will have to pretty much sweep Ignatius, Carmel, DePaul, and marmion.
