Its finally here the battle of High Point. The Bison going against Red Raiders .Andrews leads the series 25 to 20 with The Bison winning the last three so what do you all think about this battle of High Point?
West Forsyth played without Darion Slade and missed the game tying FG vs AC Reynolds. They are a totally different team when Slade plays! WF will probably run the table until playoffsNorth Davidson?? West Forsyth?? Same team who lost to 3a Reynolds. I understand where you trying to come from, but boy o boy you are really reaching on this one
Not so sure about running the table!!West Forsyth played without Darion Slade and missed the game tying FG vs AC Reynolds. They are a totally different team when Slade plays! WF will probably run the table until playoffs
I'm sorry but what the heck is going on at Central? I knew losing Mack would hurt but getting beat by Andrews 48-6?Andrews 48 Central 6 Final
HighPointTeams,First Andrews-Central game that I've missed in years, it was probably a good thing I did. lol
Can't say that I'm surprised though, HPC will struggle to win another game the rest of the way...
The talent the last two seasons covered up alot of deficiencies in the Bison program.
Long season.......
I would probably blame it on coaching didn't make sny adjustments at all. Hat goes off to Andrews went back to smash mouth football and it worked. Long season for the BisonHighPointTeams,
I know you have followed the Bison for years. Whats your thoughts? would you say its all bad coaching? I know that Central team last year was young and you guys brought back some pretty special kids on this years team.
The kids are a different breed now. I bet a million dollars Coach Gary Whittmen could take this same team and turn them into a state power and contender.Warhead, I try to be measured with my comments on here, but just know talent has never been an issue at HPC, I see teams every year do more with less talent than the Bison have.
The program just seems stuck in the mud now, I don't know, when I was growing up in the 90's HPC was a program that had the swagger of being able to compete against the best, annual deep playoff runs and state title expectations.
Things are very different from what alot of people remember.
I know that Andrews is a State Power in the 2A. But....There is no reason what so ever they should beat a 4A team with the talent that HPC has 48-6 ever. Every year HPC is putting a couple kids into big time D-1 schools. With that much talent they should be a contender every year in the small 4A classification. If they aren't in my opinion that comes down to coaching.Warhead, it shouldn't come as a big shock that Andrews smacked Central around. Anyone from the Triad will tell you Andrews is not to be taken lightly. We still lead the overall series against Central and the three biggest blowouts (including this game) have all been Andrews victories. We may be 2A now but the spirit and core of what it means to be a Red Raider was forged in 4A and we won't be awed nor intimidated by a school being a higher classification. I would say Andrews would certainly be very competitive and a playoff team capable of making a deep run whether we were 2A, 3A, or 4A. We've won state titles in all three.
With that being said then why has HPC beaten you guys so much over the years? Is it that Andrews coaching is bad? I'm just saying Central has had several D-1 players the last few years....they have twice the number of kids you guys do so they should in theory have that much more depth. I'm not trying to argue with you saying Central is better....I'm saying Central should never lose to a 2A School by the amount they lost tonight. The reason HPC lost to you guys by that amount is because again IMO their coaching is not up to par with the talent they've had over the last few years.Andrews and Central have nearly the same levels of talent every year. Redistricting and political BS is why Central and SW Guilford each have 1500+ students and Andrews hovers around 800, but that's a different story entirely. They both draw from the same talent pool, and Andrews has produced FAR more D1 and Pro players. There are three Red Raiders currently on active rosters in the NFL. Two years ago there were five, more than any other high school in NC. How many does Central have? I'll wait.
