It's been a lot junk talking about the game .Central has really played a tough schedule so far watching both teams play this year even though Central hasn't played extremely well I give them the edgein this one just off strength of schedule it should and probably will be a good one. 35 -21 Bison

Don't be surprised if Andrews wins this one. Andrews should've won 3 of the last 5 but shot itself in the foot.

I think Central will win. And probably win fairly easy . Look at the schedule that Andrews has played and the teams central has played no comparison . Andrews is very talented but I think it is time fir the Bison to shine.

Central is not good. Just because you lose or get blown out by good teams doesn't make you good

The teams that has beaten Central are 4a powerhouses that would beat Andrews by way more then what they beat Central by. I have seen both teams play and everyone is going off thw fact that Andrews beat Reidsville but I was at that game and trust me Thats not the same Reidsville teams from the past. Then they struggled against a 0-5 Cummings Team that turned the ball over on its on side of the field . The toughest team Andrews has played against was a mediocre southwest team that probably would have blown Andrews out if their QB wouldn't have gotten hurt.

I am just saying I have seen both team play. Central is a very young team Andrews has 29 seniors . Andrews dont have a passing game and the offense that they run is not a come from behind offense.Central can do both run and pass if Central jump on them early they may be in fir a long night just saying.

I understand what you saying but Central haven't shown their a good team at least Andrews dominate opponents they should beat. But I'm hoping for a barn burner

West Forsyth played without Darion Slade and missed the game tying FG vs AC Reynolds. They are a totally different team when Slade plays! WF will probably run the table until playoffs

Rainy, soggy weather plays into Andrews' run-first philosophy. Last tweet I saw was 41-6 Andrews in 3rd

Lala you are a dodo bird. Andrews embarrassed Central 48-6 and held them to less than 100 yards for the game. Shut them down more so than any of the "4a powerhouses" that you mentioned. Better get some Texas Pete for that crow....

First Andrews-Central game that I've missed in years, it was probably a good thing I did. lol

Can't say that I'm surprised though, HPC will struggle to win another game the rest of the way...

The talent the last two seasons covered up alot of deficiencies in the Bison program.

Long season.......

HighPointTeams,
I know you have followed the Bison for years. Whats your thoughts? would you say its all bad coaching? I know that Central team last year was young and you guys brought back some pretty special kids on this years team.

Andrews has a good team this year. Probably beats most teams in triad, not named Dudley, Ef and Page. Not sure how they lost to swg.

Warhead, I try to be measured with my comments on here, but just know talent has never been an issue at HPC, I see teams every year do more with less talent than the Bison have.

The program just seems stuck in the mud now, I don't know, when I was growing up in the 90's HPC was a program that had the swagger of being able to compete against the best, annual deep playoff runs and state title expectations.

Things are very different from what alot of people remember.

I would probably blame it on coaching didn't make sny adjustments at all. Hat goes off to Andrews went back to smash mouth football and it worked. Long season for the Bison

The kids are a different breed now. I bet a million dollars Coach Gary Whittmen could take this same team and turn them into a state power and contender.

Central has lots of talent. Don't get that twisted. They are just stuck in that pack of good teams that can't get over the hump to be great at the 4A level. They have also played a ridiculously tough schedule. They could easily play a schedule like North Davidson does and load up on empty jerseys in the non conference but they don't. They schedule quality teams. I'd love to have the Geoffrey Wall kid in Red. Wish he would have transferred to Andrews a few years ago when he left HP Christian. He's underutilized in my opinion. I also believe that Centrals staff hasn't been good in recent years in adjusting their offensive scheme to fit their personnel. There have been years the spread works great with their personnel, especially at QB but others where they have had running backs and an adequate offensive line to line up and run the ball consistently from a traditional set to give them the best chance to win. Good news is they have talent and always will, bad news is there's still some tough games ahead and you hope the kids don't fold.

Yes, Central could easily still finish second in their conference.

Warhead, it shouldn't come as a big shock that Andrews smacked Central around. Anyone from the Triad will tell you Andrews is not to be taken lightly. We still lead the overall series against Central and the three biggest blowouts (including this game) have all been Andrews victories. We may be 2A now but the spirit and core of what it means to be a Red Raider was forged in 4A and we won't be awed nor intimidated by a school being a higher classification. I would say Andrews would certainly be very competitive and a playoff team capable of making a deep run whether we were 2A, 3A, or 4A. We've won state titles in all three.

I know that Andrews is a State Power in the 2A. But....There is no reason what so ever they should beat a 4A team with the talent that HPC has 48-6 ever. Every year HPC is putting a couple kids into big time D-1 schools. With that much talent they should be a contender every year in the small 4A classification. If they aren't in my opinion that comes down to coaching.

I do not believe that HPC will end up third....They will not beat EF, and NWG and probably going have very tough time beating Glenn. Glenn improved quite a bit on offense this year and they got ability to score a lot.

Andrews and Central have nearly the same levels of talent every year. Redistricting and political BS is why Central and SW Guilford each have 1500+ students and Andrews hovers around 800, but that's a different story entirely. They both draw from the same talent pool, and Andrews has produced FAR more D1 and Pro players. There are three Red Raiders currently on active rosters in the NFL. Two years ago there were five, more than any other high school in NC. How many does Central have? I'll wait.

With that being said then why has HPC beaten you guys so much over the years? Is it that Andrews coaching is bad? I'm just saying Central has had several D-1 players the last few years....they have twice the number of kids you guys do so they should in theory have that much more depth. I'm not trying to argue with you saying Central is better....I'm saying Central should never lose to a 2A School by the amount they lost tonight. The reason HPC lost to you guys by that amount is because again IMO their coaching is not up to par with the talent they've had over the last few years.

Neither coach is great at adjustment or installing consistent discipline. They are both great men who are good role models for their respective teams but coaching has been the missing element for both schools, imo. And again, don't fall into the classification trap. Ask any old head and they will tell you Andrews forged its football reputation by being a borderline 3A/2A school by enrollment that played up (the NCHSAA used to allow you to play above your enrollment if you wanted to) in 4A and won titles. We played and consistently beat the schools around us. Most were 4A. Andrews has a winning record over every school In both Guilford and Forsyth counties. Look it up if you don't believe me!
