I’d rather go 7-5 and beat Ole Miss in football over a baseball championship, if I had to choose one over the other.

2.9 million for a baseball coach while your football team sucks total *** is retarded.
Too bad it’s not your money to spend buddy. I love all of the big three state sports but if we have fans that are dialed in on one that want to throw life changing money at just that one part of the program I’m saying please sir may we have some more.

You could give another 10 million for football and you still won't be in the top half. Like for 17 sake. We can pay 3 mil in baseball and be at the top of the conference consistently with right leadership
So why spend $5.5 million on football staff plus big money on football NIL then? Why spend $4.3 of that on the head coach alone?

My biggest complaint about the baseball conversation is “We can’t make money on baseball.” Maybe. But we can sure as hell lose money on it. UGA is paying their coach 1.3 million dollars and have a 4,000 seat stadium. If we pack ours (and sorry raise ticket prices) it’s a solid return on investment.

The point is we can pay much less to be great in baseball than it takes to be good in football. Th arms race in football is a lot different. If you want to be big in football you need 9 mil for a great coach at least and then 20-30 mil in nil funds. That likely gets exponentially beat by the big money programs that care a lot about football and will give more because we do.

Give me a baseball national championship over a hundred Liberty bowls. I would actually rather be great at something than mediocre at everything.
I included, and beat Ole Miss most of the time. Beating Ole Miss in baseball is not even close to the same as what it means to beat them in football. I would rather be pretty good at football than win any championship in baseball. As do most fans in this country. There’s a reason why we’re paying the baseball coach the second highest salary in the nation. And it’s not because we’re the richest.

I’m pretty sure that even women’s college basketball gets more viewers than college baseball. Hell three times as many people watched the Iowa/South Carolina women's basketball game as the MLB World Series.
