I can't believe it, but I am going to defend Sidney

He only had 3 real fouls last night, and the tech was complete ********. You can't call that in such a hard fought game, especially at the end.

We might as well get used to him being in foul trouble. Half of them are deserved, but the other half are ticky-tack AT BEST. I just feel that after all of the crap he has done over the course of his career has caused the refs to target him. Maybe he deserves it, but it sucks for the rest of the team. Those of you who think we are better without him on the floor are mistaken. I love Lewis as much as anyone, but it was his missed assignment that caused the 2 in bounds dunks. If he can't provide D any better than Sidney, I want Sidney's offense.

the two fouls at the end of the game looked like lazy fouls but the guy was just gassed and basically on the court taking up space. Bottom line is he is a big ole spoiled giftedkid that doesn`t have enough sense to get in shape and take advantge of his God given talents.

As physical as that game was and Sidney gets a call after someone jumps over his back. The refs were focused on Sidney and wanted Baylor to win that game.

The T was extremely harsh. Sid played excellent D for the most part. They could not work him down low.

...you've got 30 NBA scouts in the gym and he has a big chance to show them something.

He missed most of the first half and yet he is absolutely gassed for the last 10 minutes of the game. He's been with this program for 2.5 years now and he is still absolutely out of shape. While the announcers are talking about his anger management classes, he dives for a loose ball (surprise) and when the ref blows the whistle he rips it out of the players hands like an idiot after the play is dead. I think the last foul absolutely was a foul and if it wasn't, the officials let him get away with two or three knowing he was in foul trouble. But he got that last foul, as Fraschilla pointed out, because he didn't think about boxing out (which is just fundamental basketball) that we apparently don't teach. Out of position. He's going to be in foul trouble in his 20 minutes/night because he is out of position because he is either lazy or out of shape, not because he is being picked on. Finally, after all that, he obviously was mouthing off to the official. Nobody knows what was said. But the bottom line is that you have to be self aware enough to understand that you go quietly to the bench and don't hurt your team with a technical foul. You don't have to like it, but go sit down with your mouth shut. Going into that stretch with a one point lead changes the complexity of the game.

He probably sealed the deal on his European basketball tour last night. No team is going to touch after all that BS. John Lucas had to be absolutely embarrassed.

what ticks me off is that most of his fouls seem to be of the "I got beat so I'm going to reach in as you go past me" variety, instead of the over-the-back or fighting for a rebound type of fouls that you'd expect. Most of his fouls seem like he's just overreacting - especially if he got a dunk or was involved on the previous possession. That's immature and it gets old.

But the guy has really been giving his all lately, and our whole team is better for it. I hope he can clean some things up and continue to contribute.

this insinuation:

I crawl bury's *** about a lot of things, but you will NEVER read me crawling his *** about "not teaching" nard. Nard is NOT TEACHABLE by anyone, including John Lucas. Nard is completely uncontrollable, completely self centered, completely incapable of understanding the concept of team play and completely non-redeemable. No one, including Bury, can be held responsible for "not teaching" this gigantic ******* anything.

I hold Bury responsible for nothing about nard, except for being another in an incredibly long line of enablers who stupidly and naively thought, "I know, I know, it's a huge risk, but I can fix him!" You can't fix nard's problems.
