I guess we'll see just how good Vandy is this Saturday *

Meh. It’s low brow to disrespect opponents, no honor, no class; tried to point that out before the VT opener. Was ‘putrefaction’ in the air when Spurrier carded consecutive L’s to Vandy? I take that back; given the average social media fan, there probably was.

Those guys work just as hard as we do; we’re not entitled.

King was talking very lovingly about their QB, coach. and program going into the game -- almost as if he was anticipating the loss.

Now it's putrid and sucks perpetually even though they haven't lost game and are ranked 15th in the country?

I think they'll give a good account of themselves. But if they get throttled, how does that make our loss to them look any better?
I think they get throttled but either way it’s doesn’t mean much regarding to SC’s loss to them, as neither team is really in the running for anything other than a bowl game. Vandy will finish as a 6 or 7 win team so if the Gamecocks finish about the same then I guess Vandy gets a better bowl.

Yes, there was putrefaction, and why not? In my lifetime, Vandy has never been as rugged as they are right now. But any time you get vaporized at home, there's going to be putrefaction. The reason the quarterback got knocked out was because of the systematic putrefaction that made him vulnerable.

Yes, exactly. The putrefaction helped get them where they are. Yes, I was anticipating the loss. After the putrefaction exposed our quarterback, leading to his elimination, it was only a question of the extent of the one-sideness.

Sellers had heat in the face through all of last season, King.

He had to run around like a jack rabbit just to stay alive.

The game at Vandy was about as tight in the 1st half as it was this year.

If we had lost him in that game, we would have putrified just like Alabama, Auburn, and UK. :)

The primary goal when playing a prolific offense is obviously to keep them off the field as much as possible with time-consuming drives.

When you lose your captain, that becomes a difficult venture.

I'm postulating a different outcome with Sellers in this year's game than what you are because of certain things we had last year - and they didn't have - than what is the case this year. But in either case, all that can be known for certainty - in both cases - is what actually happened. We both know that.

I'll concede that we weren't good on the offensive line either year, but we had a bell cow running back then that we don't have now. We also had a key edge rusher, along with eight other defensive starters, all now gone.

They have added some key SEC-caliber pieces they didn't have. I don't see where we have improved overall from last year whatsoever although some players show some promise. as of today, we have some glaring deficiencies on both lines of scrimmage.

Too bad we let that boy run free up though the A gap to plant our quarterback. Putrefaction.

Vandy played some hard-nosed football when James Franklin was their coach (including playing dirty on defense).

It's not that far of a stretch to understand that the better Vandy does for the rest of the year, the better our loss looks. Losing to a 10 win team is more respectable than losing to a 6 win team. And vice versa.

This is pretty standard college football stuff. Unless one just wants to complain.
We play Bama as well.
